Introduction
Welcome to the "key progression guide" for the bare minimum in finishing the Main Story!

As expected, this guide aims to only get you un-stuck in specific parts of the story, without description on how to obtain most of the optional collectibles.
... So go out and explore on your own!

When you're finished, make sure to check out the Guide Index for all other resources!

Here is a quick estimation of how long each area would take if you skip all side contents:
  • (1.5 hr) Panselo
  • (2.5 hr) Atai
  • (3.5 hr) Daea
  • (2 hr) Cosette
  • (2.5 hr) Beyond the Wall
  • (2 hr) Within the SPHERE
The actual completion time varies for everyone, from at least twice as long for normal completion to quadruple for full completion. This estimation only serves as a reference of how far you are into the game.

You may ask around the Discord community[discord.gg] if you need help as well.

Enjoy!

Chapter 5 - Beyond the Wall
Beyond the First Wall is where the post-apocalyptic atmosphere hinted at the beginning of the game is seen first-handed, in particular the absence of cheerful characters unlike in the areas prior. Notable upgrades include:
  • Combat & puzzle tool - Rocket Boots
  • Upgrade - Troll's Guard

Roads to Scorched Lands - The First Wall
  • Head to The First Wall north from Daea City
  • Find Max in a wild goose-chase
    • Talk to the female knight before the gate
    • Talk to the female knight in the Supply Room
    • Talk to the male knight in the Dining Commons
    • Talk to the maid in Wallace's Office, at the top of the left tower
    • Talk to Max before the gate
  • Pass through the First Wall

Roads to Scorched Lands - The Last Wall
  • Head to The Last Wall north from The First Wall
  • Pass through the gate (thankfully without goose-chase #2)
  • Make sure you are well-prepared and have stocked up on food
  • Pass through the Last Wall

Exploration Area 4 - Scorched Lands
Be wary of the new enemies (perhaps I'll make this into a separated guide...):
  • Mole Mine ambushes from ceiling or underground, the explosion and shrapnels deal damage
    • Hitting it with any ranged tool from a distance is recommended
    • In a pinch, use Tusk Strike to negate its explosion damage
  • Ghoul, despite not having high health, does not flinch from any attack
    • Spear Bomb can defeat them in a single hit
  • Great Turret is powerful and durable, hide as soon as you are detected
  • Wendigo is even more dangerous, avoid being detected at all cost!

The area itself is fairly straight-forward, your destination is in the right direction.
  • Save at Scorched Lands
  • Pass through Screen 1
  • Pass through Screen 2, where batteries are introduced
  • Save at Scorched Lands - Shelter, there is a hidden room at the bottom
  • In Screen 3, insert the 2 mandatory batteries into nearby stations
    • From the bottom route, enter the left of the 3 doors
    • From the Great Turrets at the top-left, take the battery to the right
  • In Screen 4, pass through the field, you are recommended to NOT fight the Wrecker
  • In Screen 5, insert the 3 required batteries into stations nearby
    • From the Great Turrets on the right, take the battery to top-left
    • In the underground tunnel, enter the top-right room
    • In the underground tunnel, enter the bottom-left room
  • Save at Mul Caves - South before proceeding
Note: Farm more (Cooked) Mystery Meat if needed, they respawn upon reloading save files

Exploration Area 5 - Mul Caves
Be wary of the new enemies:
  • Miniad (brown) is mostly harmless, and it may drop food when defeated
  • Thorniad (red) has high health and damage, avoid getting combo-ed
  • Aciad (green) can shoot at you with ridiculously high accuracy
  • Blastiad (blue) is essentially suicide bomber, a leaping Mole Mine in a sense
  • Dartiad (yellow) is very mobile and aggressive, but has low health

This area is a bit of a labyrinth despite its linear progression.
Your destination this time it at the top-right direction.
(You may also refer to the map of Mul Caves[docs.google.com] created by Vouivre Critique)
  • In Screen 1, head right (no music yet)
  • In Screen 2, head right
  • In Screen 3, head to the top
  • Continue climbing until you see a spaceship
  • Obtain the Rocket Boots and save at Mul Caves - Storage
Note: Farm more Iad Sap and Mul Mushroom if needed, also respawn upon reloading
  • Return to Screen 3 by heading top-left
Note: Throw explosives into nests' opening to destroy them and open shortcuts
  • Both the top and top-right paths are viable
    • Top path is where you first see the spaceship
      • You do not have to fight Ariadne to proceed the next room
      • That next room is a spike-maze with a few Dartiads
    • Top-right is also a spike-maze, but with many Thorniads instead
      • I do not prefer this path due to more hazardous environment and enemies
  • From the Atrium (a very big room), head to top-right
  • This sunlit room is the last screen with enemies, head to top-right again
  • Climb further up and save at Mul Caves - North

Chapter 6 - Within the SPHERE
Beyond the Mul Cliff is the final stretch of the game, focusing mainly on the highly secured research facility. Needless to say, the rest of almost all collectibles should be accessible at this point. Besides the resources linked from the aforementioned Guide Index, you may look for the Oracle near the entrance of Daea City for in-game hints.

Road to E.D.E.N - West Megalith Fields
Note: You may return to Daea via the Forgotten Teleporter near the acid lake if needed
  • Enter SPHERE and save at SPHERE - Garden
  • Navigate through Screen 1 while avoiding the Megaliths
  • Navigate through Screen 2 while avoiding the Megaliths
  • Navigate through Screen 3 while avoiding the Megaliths
    • You may use the Mole Mines to distract the Megaliths
  • Navigate through Screen 4 while avoiding the Megaliths
    • You may use Slingshot to hit the switches from a difficult angle

Town Preparation 5 - Pristine City
  • Enter Pristine City
  • Assemble the Spheralis at last
  • Unlock the Rail Car that leads you to further down:
    • Activate the elevator (bottom floor, right room)
    • Activate the crystal (bottom floor, left room)
    • Activate the crystal (upper floor, top-left room)
    • Activate the crystal (upper floor, top-right room)

Dungeon 5 - E.D.E.N (Part 0)
The key puzzle element in E.D.E.N involves inserting and retrieving the dungeon keys called Chrystalis in certain order. I will be indicating how many Chrystalis you should have discovered and how many you should be holding onto at the beginning of each step. Here is an example:
  • (2,5) Navigate through Sector A

  • Enjoy the credits!

Closing Remarks
Phew, the guide is finally finished!

I have wanted to write an actual text-based guide since before the Steam release. However, as many people in the community are aware of, there are also various duties I have to tend to, notably the Phoenotopia Wikia[phoenotopia.fandom.com] and the other Steam Guides, all linked from the Guide Index.

So! After 3.5 months since the original publication, I finally got back to this walkthrough and updated it with screenshots (and text edits)! I am quite happy with how it turns out.

Anyway, I hope you like the game as much as this maniac who gives his all to the community does! (Seriously, the word counting site says there are 4200+ words in this guide alone!)

Thanks for reading towards the end! :D

Great guide! Thanks so much for this. This helped a lot as a reference for my zero trial speedrun (I didn't want to rely on a guide specifically for the challenge lol)
