Kill five barnacles with one explosive barrel.

• The best time to get this is immediately after you first run away from the helicopter in the aquaduct. You'll go through some tunnels and find two explosive barrels above a slippery slope. SAVE your game now. Drop one of the barrels down the middle of the slope, so it will be picked up by the middle barnacle at the end. As the barnacle pulls the barrel up, shoot the barrel a few times until it is flaming. You want the barrel to explode as high up as possible to kill all five barnacles there.

• When you first get the airboat it doesn't have a gun. After a good while you will eventually come to an outpost. Whilst you are talking to a guy a vauntigaunt will attach a gun to the airboat. Achievement unlocked.

• At the end of Water Hazard, there will be a little battle with a chopper circling around. Just keep shooting it with the airboat's machine gun and avoid the little bombs. When it finally blows up, you will get this one.

• After you have destroyed the helicopter, go to the boat and look for a vent on the right. jump on the boat then in the tunnel. make your way down the tunnel and go into the opening, the little vortigaunt with cough will be waiting for you.

• When you first enter the scrapyard, look to your left. You will see a little ledge above you with a couple barrels on it. Just stack boxes with the gravity gun and when you get up there, you must pick it up with the Gravity Gun to get the achievement.

• When playing catch with DOG, it will throw the ball at you. Just look up to the right and you will see the hoop. Just keep shooting 'til goes in. You should get the achievement right after that.

• When you meet up with the mad Father Grigori in Ravenholm in Half-Life² you will have to fight your way through a graveyard filled with crabhead zombies. Grigori is armed with a shotgun and can defend himself somewhat. It is possible to do this using the Gravity Gun for the Zombie Chopper achievement, there are plenty of explosive barrels, canisters and saw blades.

• When you get to the oil station, you will find a gigantic crane, raise the crane and lift a cargo, you must wait for 3 combine soldiers under the cargo to crush them.

• Visible from the hill where Gordon first finds the crossbow, there is a billboard in the distance. Using the crossbow's scope, Gordon will see a soldier standing in front of the billboard. A successful hit will pin the soldier to the billboard, unlocking the achievement.

• When you get to the town of Little Odessa in Half-Life² it is attacked by a combine gunship. Fight your way to the lighthouse and get the rocket launcher. Use it to shoot down the gunship. This will also contribute to the One Man Army achievement.

Cross the antlion beach in chapter Sandtraps without touching the sand.

• To get this achievement save regularly! Use the Gravity Gun with planks of wood, palette’s etc to help you get from rock to rock, you should get the achievement before you drop down to fight the queen Antlion.

If you touch the sand slightly and no antlions appear reload as you will not get the achievement.

• After killing the giant Antlion in the chapter Sandtrap, you will obtain Bugbait Grenades. Just toss one of these weapons into the general area of some Combine Soldiers, and let your minions go to work. Once they get 50 kills, the achievement will unlock.

• From the beginning, in the 3rd or 4th cell on your left, there is a loose toilet just haplessly sitting there. Now, carry it with you down the stairs and to the hole that leads to the next area. Launch it at the head crab that jumps out of the hole, and your achievement will pop.

Get through the toxic tunnel under City 17 in Half-Life 2

• It is a story related achievement so it cannot be missed. My suggestion is that you use the gravity gun to place objects and boards around the toxic water since touching it will make you lose health. Also be careful with the mulitple zombies there as they will tend to throw toxic barrels at you. Just get passed this one part and the achievement should pop up.

• This achievement is part of the story. In this chapter you must endure all the waves of metro cops until Alyx opens the door to access the broken bridge.

Gain command of a squad of rebels in the uprising.

• This is a story related achievement in Aticitizen One. At one point in the chapter several rebels will be pulling down a monitor. Once they're done with that, the rebels ask if they can hang around with you. Achievement unlocked.

Counter-Sniper
Kill all of the snipers in City 17.

• There are a total of five snipers in "Follow Freeman!" (chapter 11) that you must kill. (I say this plainly because there are a lot of conflicting reports out there.) These are the only five you must kill. No other snipers in any other level matter. You'll know you get them when they fall out the window (and the blue line disappears). Check the following video.

• This is story related. Look out for the energyballs from the soldiers. And to get to the hardest generator you need to go torugh a room with lasers. Don't try too run trought these but use climbing and jumping to get to the swich on the other side of the room.

Giant Killer
Survive the rooftop Strider battle in the ruins of City 17.

• This is story related. Once you have finished destroying the generators so you can get up on the roof, have gotten over to the other building, you'll head down to the bottom of that building and a guy will give you a rocket launcher. Then you'll have to fight a few Striders, which are huge incredibly tough bipedal machines. Then you'll be running through the city with striders popping up every now and again. The achievement soon after that.

Atomizer
Disintegrate 15 soldiers by throwing them into a Combine ball field.

• After you get your super charged gravity gun you'll eventually come go up a small lift then go thru a passage on the right (don't forget to recharge your suit in the passage). When you come round the corner, there will be many enemies coming after you in groups of 3 or 4. This is a great spot to get both the Conservationist and Atomizer achievements. The combine ball fields are close enough to throw enemies into it easily.

Singularity Collapse
Destroy the Citadel's reactor core.

• This achievement is story related. It is awarded for completing Half-Life 2 by destroying the Citadel's reactor core before Dr. Breen completes his teleportation. Make your way up to the top of the Citadel by passing a series of energy ball fields, combine soldiers and moving platforms. Once you reach the top, you are confronted by 2 Combine gunships. You will notice that 2 energy ball fields appear in front of you. Use your supercharged gravity gun to destroy the reactor core by shooting multiple energy balls at it from the side.
