Which Side to Sidestep, Basic Overview
By Eita Carái!
This is a simplified (but not that simplified) guide to sidestep accordingly to each character.

The notes aren't perfect, since I just gathered information on the web and tried to fill with some personal experience, and everyone is welcome to help to improve the guide.

These are the references I've used to start my guide, big thanks to Paul and Mus

Last But Not Least
Here are some VALUABLE RESOURCES

For framedata you can check the AMAZING Good n Old RBNorway[rbnorway.org] or New and Even Better RBNorway[rbnorway-t7.web.app]

Dealing with King chainthrows with gifs and much more. But steam censors the F word on the link and doesn't let me use a shortener to avoid it, so it's your job to remove the space in the middle of the link to access it https://kenjatimebeginner.wordpress.com/2019/09/27/fu (REMOVE THIS SPACE) ck-king-chain-throws-lmaoo

But in general there's sorta of a rule, some chainthrows can be done mashing (and many King players do this way), these you can break by mashing 1 , the MAX damage routes are always broken with 2, and 1+2 is the medium reward but it's a little trickier to mash it because they doesn't appear everytime

Sometimes we suck at dealing with strings, so Somsana made a guide (its kinda old, but it works nicely on the most part) Don't let them String Cheese you![docs.google.com]
That's it Folks
Well I think that's it, hope these community knowledge that I've organized here could've helped you to get better and understand a little better the game and enjoy it way more

Alright cool, thanks!

You step to your side, for exemple King is kinda weak to his left side, a some of his important moves struggles to track to his left, so to make some of these key moves whiff you should step to your right (down if you're on P1 side, or up if you're on P2 side).

But these sidestep guides isn't necessary a rule, because the player can delay or realign (with a wavedash or just pressing foward) his character to make these moves that "doesn't track" kinda track. Some of the characters are marked to sidestep to the weak the side of its main toolkit, but it doesn't means they won't have alternative moves to compensate this.

The ideal is try to lab the move and the situation you're struggling and try to find a way out it, or at least how to prevent the situation

hey this is kinda stupid but when people talk about which direction to sidestep, do they mean relative to your opponent, or your orientation? EG, side step left means to side step to your opponent's left side, or your left side?
