Lanced Negati
NOTE: Acrobat is preferred costume to take them down, however it is just a suggestion, mix it up and go in however you like

Lanced Negati's are the hardest versions of the enemies that block the door, usually near end of the level.

There are three versions, the normal version, red versions (hard mode) and Lanced versions which are bigger and have a bigger appearance to their normal versions.

They can only be spawned in hard-mode (red stamps at end of level). To get hard-mode (as far as it is known) is to defeat a lot of Negati's without losing your costume.
NOTE: You do not need to complete a level in hard-mode for them to spawn, you just need to be in hard-mode for them to trigger.

You know you are in hard-mode when small enemies spawn red.

Losing your costume even on a boss will stop hard-mode for you, however if this happens at all just force-quit the game from task manager/task menu before the game saves will result in it loading the save before you went into the level.

This is my preferred way to also spawn the Lanced enemies. Even if you are on hard-mode, the mini-bosses may spawn as just red variants. If this happens, force quit the game and reopen it, and repeat until the boss spawns as its Lanced version. This took me 2-4 reloads each time and saved me from having to defeat the chapter boss over and over in hopes a Lanced would spawn.

Ghosti
Easiest one to get out of the achievements due to he will randomly spawn in a mob of red enemies so just keep fighting those hordes, however please note that he goes invisible if you get too close to him so keep those eyes peeled!

Lanced Plenti - Spawns in world 5-1 (preferred) & 8-1

His attack window is very small, because of this it is best to spawn him in 5-1 because 8-1 even with the skater or even the Acrobat costume he is very hard to hit

Lanced Endlessli - World 1-2 & 6-2

Not much difference from his normal version except he will summon his attacks faster, Acrobat is a good choice to use. Best in 6-2 because his spawn spot is legit behind the starting area making it quicker to attempt him to spawn in

Lanced Multipli - World 2-2 & 4-2, either is preferred

This version spawns two of himself meaning 6 hits are needed to defeat him, Acrobat or Jellyfish costume are preferred.

Lanced Nessi - World 7-2 & 9-2

Has a barrier that protects him which you must wait for him to get rid of to attack him unless you use the Ghost costume, however you may still get hit by his large attack so best to wait it out and use Acrobat
Spoiler Section
Below contains a spoiler to a costume, read at your own risk.
This costume is NOT NEEDED to spawn the Lanced, however it does make it quicker to get to each blocked gate, saving you time everytime you reset trying to spawn the Lanced Negati.

Quickest way to check if the boss will spawn as a Lanced version is to use the Balan costume due to the jump height and flight speed, Balan pretty much breaks any level.

PLEASE NOTE: King Tim is random, after speaking with the video creator Balan's hat is not important for the King Tim. It appears to be random after making two Tim's with 3 badges each lay an egg. However video information is still useful for those seeking the costume

Will update once a 100% confirmation way of getting a King Tim has been found.

FAQ

You need to complete the tower for hard-mode to unlock?
NOPE! The tower has nothing to do with hard mode, this also goes for trophies, you do not need to 100% a level or the game to unlock hard-mode.

I killed a the red Negati blocking the door but didn't get the achievement
Red versions are not Lanced versions. They are just a little big harder than the normal black versions. Lanced versions are bigger and added designs (please check Lanced section for screenshots)

Do you need to complete the level for the achievement to pop?
Nope! Just defeat it then and there and it will pop. This is good if you lost a costume you want back as you can just force restart the game while keeping the achievement.

Wouldn't Moon Walker be easiest to take Plenti down?
Nope, Moon Walker actually has a glass break animation for mini-bosses and chapter bosses meaning his power does not work, making him useless.

Can you just exit the level and re-enter to change the spawn?
This is unknown, so far going back into a level after spawning the mini-boss has only had it spawn in as the one seen when the spawn cutscene triggered the first time as its spawn as already been set by the games coding.

Not too fond of how much random luck is needed for some parts of this game but I hope this guide helps. Actually surprised there was no boss rush for those who preferred to fight the Lanced versions.

I like to thank Tomas Rodriguez, SpiralKipz & Unbroken Odds on Youtube for helping solve each step to these enemies as well as helping to test levels and theories to confirm how to get the achievements.

And thank you to this thread for bringing to light what the red stamps were to begin with and how to actually trigger them.

I found a faster method on how to respawn the Lanced versions.
-Enter the desired stage and touch a check point near the desired monster.
-Go to the monster and if it respawn red instead of Lanced versions then go to the menu and click "Go to isle of Tim".
-When you're in the island, enter the stage again, you will be near the check point you touched.
and repeat until you get the Lanced versions.

This method saves a lot of time, no need to return to title screen nor close and open the game.

@ganondorfhater716 love seeing what the fandom can come up with!

Yes I noticed World 4 boss dropped more boxes giving you around 2 slots of safety squares but due to dropping quicker it is hard to predict so I just costume changed. But it was only difference I saw, shame they don't at least have a recolour to show they are harder never the less reskin like the Lanced.

I had the same thing for World 8's boss actually and lost Hard Mode from it despite not getting hit, which is weird. But yeah, the bosses don't appear different on hard mode. They just have more difficult patterns and move quicker, and in particular the Act 12 boss and Act 5 boss both have a massive increase to the number of projectiles they drop.

That does seem weird, it should be giving you the red stamp if enemies are spawning red and level was not been loaded pre-hardmode before defeating chapter boss
UltraZockt 31 Mar, 2021 @ 10:11am
So I was in hard Mode doing Bosses. Everything worked fine. Got all red markers in one go. Until I got to the Boss from World 8. Everytime I got hit I Alt + F4 the game. But when I defeted the boss I only got the yellow marker. So I went back to World 12-3 to grind me up to hard mode again. Killed some enemies and so... until the got red again. After exiting the level and trying the boss or any level again after they turned red again in 12-3 I only got the yellow marker. I grinded now enemies for over 1 hour without getting hit and I am still not in the hard mode again...
Any idea what I can do?

I been resetting Chapter bosses all day still in hard-mode and so far not one single one has spawned any differently, if they do have harder versions they are not popping for me and would like screenshot proof for those that say they have fought the hardmode versions

Because of this I really doubt Lance has a different look/harder form
UltraZockt 30 Mar, 2021 @ 10:02pm
@Vox ok please let me know if you find something out.
Talon  [author] 30 Mar, 2021 @ 9:57pm
@UltraZockt I not attempted to spawn him in hard-mode yet, apparently the chapter bosses have hard mode versions too, will be testing them out later today.

However I am curious if final boss does since it seems second half is heavily focused on the costumes you are given so give me some time today and I shall see if I can trigger anything if he has one.

Also yes world 12-3 is what I used for some time till I used 3-3 for drop grinding at same time. But that world is perfect for that costume
UltraZockt 30 Mar, 2021 @ 9:51pm
@Vox I played 3 times World 12 Act 3 and killed all enemies on the two platforms. Found this level with the Balan Abbility really good for grinding this. But thanks anyway for your help.

Anyway I have another question: Is there some reward for doing the final boss on hard mode?
Will he even be "harder" or does he not have a hard mode version?
And what about the mark? As far as I know the final boss has no mark on the door.
Maybe there is a secret cutscene or something... Just asking :D
