If it's your first time playing a Shelter game, I highly recommend going to settings and selecting "free camera". Controls in this series feel differently than in your usual videogames, but so are the games made by Might and Delight - they are delightfully different.

That wavy line on the bottom of your screen is Revas stamina. Keep an eye on it so that you can fulfill your matriarchal duties: you can't run while you're exhausted.

Keeping your daughter alive is probably the easiest task in the game: approach your calf til you make body contact and press the action button to breastfeed her.

Tip: your daughters color will fade into whitish-grey as she becomes hungrier. It's hard to miss, so please don't make the future matriarch starve!

I highly recommend you to just go with the flow and get whatever achievements you didn't get in your second playthrough.

  • Flamboyant Flight
    Ran through the flamingos
    Pretty self-explanatory - you will unlock this during tutorial stage, see flamingos - run at them!

  • A Good Mother

    Nursing calf for the first time
    Self-explanatory as well: press E to breastfeed your baby daughter whenever you feel like this. Can be done right at the start of the game.
    Question: did you nurse your calf just after the start or did you wait for her to become gray and demand milk?

  • Timber
    Crushed a tree

  • Thirst Quencher
    Drink a puddle

  • In the Ancestor's Footsteps
    Found all active landmarks

  • Pretty Pick
    Picked a flower

  • The Journey's End
    Found all active landmarks

The wavy line represents the herd's sum water level and/or stamina. When it drops into the red, an elephant is in danger of dying.

Ravenstar, if it is really needed, delete the game and download it again. There is no reason to never play again over a bug. I'm pretty sure they fixed it with the newest patch. If they haven't, you should contact the developers. It should be your last resort to never ever want to play the game again.

No, the wavy line is not stamina, if you run out of the wavy line one of the elephants die

Okay. I give up. This game is unplayable, was really looking forward to it but riddled with bugs. I might play it again sometime but you cannot feed your calf, and herd starves after rejoining game. Unless I get help or they fix bugs I am not playing this again.

Also its really frustrating I leave the game and come back - usign the menu ofc not afking - but they are starving and wont eat any fruit! I am not far into the game so i will just restart but I dont think thats fair considering people have lives and stuff... unless its a bug ofc its understandable

Please help! What do I do??? I cannot feed my calf, she is hungry and I press E near her but she doesn't feed. I don't want her to die wwhat do I DO????????????

@Halcyon Song Ty, I'll try this. I thought the challenge with the tiger would be fun but not impossible, but I also didn't try to go around it. I'll try to beat the game this way since it seems it eats your babies regardless of staying close or not, despite what the grandmother elephant says in the direction tips/riddles.

Confused when it comes to feeding the whole herd. What do they eat other than fruit from the trees and how do I get them to eat it. Thanks!

@Doodledunge ....all female mammals have breasts. it is called breastfeeding/nursing
