Why would you even want to do this? Uncapped framerates cause hellacious coil whine on certain titles (like this one, the GPU sings in menus) and screen tearing for those of us not blessed with money.

This worked great for me, 7700k + gtx 1080, but I did want to point out for your guide here that you are better off changing that setting for that individual game, not changing the global settings. setting the v-sync to fast globally can conflict with a g-sync module depending on the monitor and gpu used as well as which game engine. there are a couple videos on youtube titled 'optimal nvidia settings 2020, 2021, etc that explain it better than i can remember currently. your method works no problem, thank you for the post, but to the author of this and to anyone else reading this keep it in mind. also, if you are going to change the global settings you do not need to go thru the trouble of adding the game exe or finding it in control panel, nvidia's driver is smart enough to detect 3d acceleration in use and apply the setting.
