~True Dedication to your Profession~

All of the rats take free hunters or Felis and go camp in a bush. You're better than that and you will want to show them that you're the biggest rat in this game! It's pretty easy but that'll require you to spend some money and buy a DLC exclusive hunter. I'd recommend you wait for the sale that happens pretty often! You can grab it for around 1$ then!

~Loadout Options~

When it comes to choosing your loadout you can either choose a shotgun or long ammo rifle and camp for people around the clues to headshot them while they're investigating it. They
are the easiest targets then. My favourite option for the loadout is the Quad Derringer though.
I highly recommend it for you because it's really fun to play. Basically when you kill one hunter you rush their body and YOINK their weapons. If their partner picks them up somehow - they aren't any threat to you anyway because they literally has no weapons and will have to melee you!

~Best Traits~

Doctor, Physician? Yeah, sure but these are not your main go to traits. Most importantly you'd want to get the Serpent trait! Why? - You'd ask. Let me explain something to you. If you want
to be a real rat - you'd want to start making money of everyone else's work. Somebody killed
a boss? You take the bounty safely from a distance and run away to the closest extraction point. Easy as that! Another perk that is very useful is named Vulture. It allows you to loot hunters that've been looted already. It's another must have perk because as a rat you would want to loot all of the bodies after the victorious duo leaves the location!

~Gameplay~

There are two ways of being a rat. You either hide far away out of range of dark sight, wait for them to extract and then loot the area around the boss lair for some extra expensive weapons left behind. Or you either wait for two duos to start fighting and then stab them in the back while they're at their most vulnerable moment. I prefer the second option because it feels better and more satisfying than letting the other duos escape the map!

~Conclusion~

There are many funny ways to play the game. If you find it interesting you can give it a try for
a couple of rounds. If you prefer other playstyles, sure! Play in whatever the way you find the most enjoyable! Remember to don't sweat because at the end it's only a game!

Lightfoot is pretty much a very good perk to approach people silently, I agree :)

Vulture and Serpent are both very strong traits, but I'd argue that taking lightfoot is also an important part of being a rat. It helps with aggressive movement and quietly positioning yourself to get an extra sneaky pick. If you want to be even more aggressive using serpent to steal a bounty after banish is one of my favorite tactics. It really opens up a lot of offensive angles that aren't usually checked.

If you want to lean further in the sneaky passive loadout stealing direction then the silenced nagant can be your best friend in the early game. There's nothing more dangerous than not knowing where your teammate just got picked from.
