Combat can be somewhat difficult, depending on your class and companions you choose. One tip, I recommend choosing all companions with a fighter class, if you don't want to get frustrated.
I recommend full class warrior with some rogue levels for traps and picklocks. For Weapon Focus / Spec, longsword.
The only problems I found are related to the slide show scenes, or the cutscenes. Apart from that an elf in locksley had white body parts (the color), but after entering and leaving the area the problem was fixed.
