Info
Just a quick guide telling you how I got higher resolution in abes oddysee, this is not the same as the mod that lets you run it a desktop resolution but keep the game at a 480p quality. this will let you run the game at a desire resolution the program used to achieve this is highly known to many fans of classic games
What you need
dgVoodoo2

This program basically wraps round old versions of DirectX and outputs them to newer versions.

Dx6,7,8,9 would become Dx11 or 12

http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2/

make sure you download the latest stable version
What to do
Download and Extract the content of the zip file (at the time of posting "dgVoodoo2_72.zip")
to your desktop for ease of use.

Now Navigate over to where you have installed Oddworld for me its F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Oddworld Abes Oddysee

for you its likely on your C: drive, you can quickly find out where it is installed by right clicking the game in your library, select Properties>Local File and then click the browse button, this should open the folder in windows explorer.

now whilst the Oddworld folder is open, open the dgVoodoo2 extracted folder and then inside of there you should see a folder called "MS" open that "x86" open that

you should see 4 dll files select them all (think D3D9 is optional in this case) and copy them to the root of the Oddworld folder.

now go to the root of dgVoodoo2 folder and open dgVoodooCpl.exe when it has opened click on the add button and again find your install folder of Oddworld and press select folder.

that's it, from here its all on you to select the best setting for your system you can select what resolution you like and if you want texture filtering, MSAA and so on, i will share my settings in a screenshot as there is trial and error with this game with tearing and lagging in cutscenes (gameplay always seemed fine)

My Settings
The End
Like I said above it can be trial and error and i could probably find better settings, I never had a problem with In-Game play but the cutscenes and scene transitions were laggy and glitchy with tearing.

The screenshot of my settings above were the best i could find for my system for quality which removed any lag from the cutscenes and transitions (slight tearing with them still occured)

Which give me a resolution of 2560 x 1600, higher FPS, much faster loading times. which is more than enough for me :D

You likely can do even more with Reshade installed as well but I haven't even attempted that with oddworld yet.
you check what i did with dino crisis one on windows 10 using reshade

Hi @pfezol sorry for the delay in replying, its a false positive. Btw any chance are you using chrome? As that pretty much flags most zip and rar files I try to download nowadays. I assure you its clean and I use this on most of my retro collection but I understand your concern and its up to you if you decide to use it or not. Hope this helps 😉

@gloomgenetics my pc runs this at native res on windows 10 with black bars by default but if your having problems the above method should be adaptable to what you desire
