Zenith's standard in overland transportation is the Jumping Spider general purpose 8x8. It is remarkably versatile thanks to its computer controlled suspension and traction system, as well as its powerful suite of "jump jets" that allow it to avoid hazards and traverse crevices. In addition to its smooth ride, the Jumping Spider is equipped with cruise control and autopilot, as well as ample refueling capabilities, making it perfect for long planetary journeys.

  • Role: General-purpose rover
  • Mass: 18.467 t
  • Environment: Planet surface
  • 0-100km/h Accel.: 3.5s
  • Transport capacity: 2 personnel

  • 8 small batteries
  • 1 hydrogen engine
  • 5 small hydrogen tanks

  • 1 medium cargo container
  • 4 small cargo containers
  • 1 O2/H2 generator

  • Driver Assisting System - Computer operated traction control, gyro stabilization, hill descent control, jump-jet suite, cruise control and autopilot. Script is by Wanderer_308, more information here.
  • Drop Parachutes - Allows the ship to be hotdropped at any altitude and deploy parachutes close to the ground.
  • Dropship synergy/Top-Mounted Docking Gear - The Jumping Spider can be transported and deployed via Pangolin Light Dropship! Simply attach the rover's docking gear (the landing gear on its topside) to the yellow area on the underside of the dropship (details in the last photo), have the rover's driver shut off its power, and fly to the dropzone. Warning: Due to game limitations, inertial dampeners alone cannot support both vehicles. Altitude must be maintained manually when carrying a rover in atmosphere.

Credits to Blargmode and Wanderer_308 for the ship's computer systems.
