Tips before playing Fading Embers
  • Keep your temperature above 8°C or 44°F, by burning chopped wood or artifacts.
  • Don't loot too much from day 1 to 7, your shelter will be temporary
  • Make a Backup Save on day 19
  • Cutscenes can be skipped by holding 'Esc'
Day and Night Journey (Day 1 to 18)
Day 1 : Loot the whole house, craft vegetables from the herbal garden at the basement.
Things you should craft in this shelter
  • Bed for Anja
  • Metal Workshop
  • Stove
Don't forget to Craft 6 fire woods

Night 1 : Goto the Neighbor's House
Bring:
  • 6 firewood
  • 1 food (meat)
  • 1 lockpick for the backdoor
Grab the Vinyl Records after assisting Tito
Achievement : Good Neighbor

Day 2 : A curator from the museum Milenawill visit Anja.
Night 2 : Visit Samuel Institute
Artifacts Here!
  • Nenedian Vase found at the basement.
  • War Crimes Documentation 1941-45 found after climbing up the table at that floor.
Bring:
  • 1 crowbar or 1 lockpick
Day 3 : Stranger is conscious, talk to him. Skip the day.

Night 3 : Stay for the Night (Heavy Bombings)

Day 4 : Talk to Ruben, grab his artifacts Ceremonial Items
Franko the trader will visit today, talk to him.
Craft Shovels to dig up the rubble caused by the bombings at the Workshop.

Night 4 : You can visit Tito, if you gave him the things he requires. He will offer things from his cabinet.

Day 5 : You may talk to Ruben.
Milena will visit today, she will give 2 med bottles & 1 canned food
Feed Ruben and give the medicines.

Night 5 : Scavenge or Stay.

Day 6 : Feed & Give meds to Ruben. You can speak with him.

Night 6 : Scavenger or Stay.

Day 7 : Ruben is now able to walk! Franko the trader will visit.

Night 7 : You can now transfer shelter. You have limited inventory space

Day 8 : You will be toured around the Museum
After the tour, from the painting go left; there will be a salvageable.
Collect the artifacts under the crumbling (1st) pillar, better fix it first before securing the artifacts.

There are 2 salvageables in an open field at the right (1st Floor)
There is 1 salvageable at the front entrance, up the stairs (2nd Floor by the entrance)

Things you should craft in this shelter
  • 1 heater
  • 2 beds
  • 1 metal workshop
  • 1 stove
  • radio, guitar or a chair (optional)
Night 8 : Loot the Supermarket , you will come by a kid talk to him.
There will be a trader by the end
  • 2 lockpicks, 1 lockpick can be bought from the Trader

Day 9 : Loot the whole Museum

Night 9 : Loot the Construction Site. Avoid the Orphanage for now
Bring:
  • 1 crowbar or 3 lockpicks
  • 1 sawblade

Day 10 : A woman will visit the museum to hide her book; which may be essential for the Orphanage

Night 10 : Loot the Abandoned House
There are Hostiles

Day 11 : Skip

Night 11 : Heavy Bombings

Day 12 : Milena leaves.
Start Reinforcing the:
  • (2nd) pillar above the kitchen floor.
  • (3rd, 4th, 5th) top floor, left wing

Night 12 : Scavenge or Stay.

Day 13 : Taras the fence will visit today.

Night 13 : Scavenge or Stay.

Day 14 : Reinforce the (6th) pillar at the top floor left wing.

Night 14 : Scavenge or Stay.

Day 15 : Truck arrives.
Burn the artifacts. For the achievement, then reload.
Achievement : Burn'em all

Night 15 : Visit the Car Workshop
  1. Talk to the Crow, he will offer Anja's Necklace; Don't leave yet.
  2. Wait for a prompt for him to smoke.
  3. Follow him outside.
  4. Have a chat. Listen to him brag about his car, Bertie.
  5. Rig his car once he leaves.
  6. Approach him and tell him you saw a person rigged his car.
  7. "Watch" his closet
  8. Leave
Achievement : Fool the Crow

Day 16 : Colonel Markov arrives. Prepare for a long f*cking cutscene.
Craft and Place the Truck Engine Improvement

Night 16 : Scavenge or Stay.

Day 17 : Milena leaves again.

Night 17 : Scavenge or Stay.

Day 18 : Reinforce the pillars:
  • At the 4th floor (7th)
  • At the 3rd floor (8th) PRIORITIZE
Achievement : Fortify

After securing all the artifacts you get:
Achievement : The Custodian

Night 18 : Scavenge or Stay.
Day and Night Choose your Ending (Day 19 to 27)
Before Day 19, take this time to Backup your Save Files at:
Program Files (x86) / Steam / userdata / [Your Steam ID] / 282070 / remote
Make a backup folder for your save files. Copy [storiessavedgames] & [storiessavedgames.alt] and Paste them in your Backup folder.
After choosing your ending go back to this file location. Copy files in your Backup folder and paste them at the original file location.
Load the game and you're back to Day 19 (choose another ending)

Day 19 : Skip

Night 19 : Varies upon your favored endings

[Colonel Ending] Go to the Petrol Station and grab the fuel for the Truck
[Taras the Fence Ending] Go to the Petrol Station and grab the fuel for the Truck
[Orphanage + Colonel Ending] Go to the Orphanage Bring 10 Firewood
[Orphanage + Taras the Fence Ending] Go to the Orphanage Bring 10 Firewood

Day 20 : Colonel Markov will visit. Army Base Unlocked.
If you grabbed the fuel for the Truck, craft and place.
Achievement : The truck is ready

Night 20 :
[Colonel Ending] Visit the Army Base, give the painting.
[Taras Ending] Scavenge or Stay.
[Orphanage + Colonel Ending] Visit the Orphanage, give the A Tale of the Rosko Brother's Collection book to Little Nika and speak to Adam. Unlocks the Railway Station the next night. or go to the Army Base and give the Battle of Leech Swamp painting

Day 21 : Skip.

Night 21 : Choose your ending.

[Orphanage + Colonel Ending] Go to the Railway Station, talk to Gregor; he will offer the Sefer Al-Zohar manuscript. or go to the Army Base if you haven't given the Battle of Leech Swamp painting yet.

Day 22 : Maria will visit today. Warehouse Unlocked.

Night 22 : Visit the Warehouse.
Be Patient.
  • From the entrance wait for the man to enter the next room, then go up the stairs.
  • Go to the kitchen and close the door. Talk to Maria.
  • Climb up the Balcony. Investigate.
  • Climb the ladder up the roof. Keep going.
  • You can now escape. Be careful.

    Day 23 :Taras the Fence will visit today. Construction Site Updated!

    Night 23 : Choose.

    [Colonel Ending] Scavenge or Stay.
    [Taras Ending] Visit the Construction Site give the Property Takeovers and Extortions documents
    [Orphanage + Colonel Ending] Visit the Railway Station give the Sefer Al-Zohar manuscript.

nvm, figured it out. built the metal workshop and made the lock pick on day 1. whew. cutting it a bit close lol

There's only one lock pick, and one of the cabinets is locked (with the water in it you need to grow the vegetables). How are you supposed to loot everything and grow vegetables day one and still have a lock pick to bring to the neighbors?

hello

the first time i played, i thought i could make it through without sacrificing anything.

the second time I played, i followed the guide and did the orphanage and taras ending, and i kept thinking, 'anja, you thief'. but the ending made me cry.

i don't want to play anymore

You miss, that in Supermarket at 8 night will be 2 locked places. 1 lockpick I take by trade, but second bring only at another night. =/
