  • 1. Go to NVIDIA Control Panel -> Manage 3D settings -> Program Settings -> CMSF2

  • 2. settings

Anistroppic filtering = 16x
Antialiasing - Mode = Override any application setting
Antialiasing - Setting = 8x
Texture filtering - Anisotropic sample optimazation = Off
Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias = Clamp

Leave the rest!


  • 3. Ingame settings

3D Model Quality = Improved
3D Texture Quality = Best
Antialias/Multisample = On
-> Advanced
Tree Detail = Low
Shaders = On

I followed steps 2 and 3 with good results. Mission 8 of TF Thunder lots of trees and really laggy mouse inputs (sometimes up to 30 seconds after they are made). I also launched from the AMD control panel instead of steam, dunno if that makes a difference guess I'll find out when I boot up tomorrow. Cheers

Pretty good, Im not sure about leaving Vsync on tho considering it tends to lose frames with no noticeable improvement imo.

@S4IN did you enable "shaders" (alt + r)?

@The Crescent Hawk afaik there is no real fix for the performance which gives you more than a few FPS, sadly.
Only tip which does improve FPS noticable is deactivate Shadows and Foliage

I get horrible jagged shadows and I can't find a way to get rid of them. Any suggestions?

So, I guess the only question I really have is, during large scale battles how does your setup handle the improved graphics? As it stands, I have a very powerful setup and my computer struggles to run Combat Mission at it's most intense moments. I know it's due to poor optimization but, are there mods to improve these known issue?
