War Cherry (2021)

"No matter what. No matter how much I hurt, or how much suffering I cause. No matter how hard life can get. Sister, I vow to protect you."

Cherry and her sister Blossom used to live together happily in Inkopolis, until the Octarians launched a massive war. But instead of ink, they used high tech guns, bullets but most importantly explosives. One such bomb landed on Blossom's house, fatally injuring her along with limbs completely lost. Cherry recovered her fast enough to save, but had to retreat as two sides fought in a bloody war.

With supplies in an all-time low for the war effort, Blossom fell into a deep coma. Most doctors abandoned her medical needs, saying how others need it more rather than an immobile girl. This however is what caused Cherry to walk down her darker path. She started to steal supplies in secret, doing Blossom's medical procedures herself. More than one life was lost to her thefts, but she refused to let her sister die.

Soon the doctors caught on and threatened to kill her if she kept stealing. So she killed them first. Now on the run with her sister on her back, Cherry started to fall onto petty crimes. A multitude of gangs rose after the war settles, with some taking interest in her. She soon became a gunwoman, a hired assassin for dirty work. Sometimes she even let them "use" her in ways too extreme to mention.

But she took it all. If it kept her sister healthy, fed and sheltered, she would do anything she had to. That emotional void slowly formed her eyes into a deep, dark crimson...
