For seasoned RPG Maker players I recommend to change the action key to space or enter and the open menu key to y or z (depends on your keyboard).

If you want to use the guide parallel to playing, use the large window mode as the full screen takes a long time to switch back and forth.

Choose a class to start with.
For this walkthrough I will choose Thief, Engineer, White Mage and Hunter.
You can adjust their costumes.
Choose encounter rate and difficulty (Grind and Legendary for this walkthrough).
Choose where and when you can save.

You can skip the intro but you might miss an Steam Item.

You can play a tutorial.
Step on the marked places.
Head north and open the chest to get 5 Gold Coins.
The next chest contains a Potion and belongs to the lockpicking tutorial.
At the end of the tutorial you obtain 1000 Gold.

• Green: double damage

To the west you can meet a Local Fisherman, who sells you three kinds of bait.
At the end of the dock is a fishing spot.

You can climb down the well to battle spiders.
Before you try that, buy equipment, appy your AP and rest in your bed (cutscene).
You will obtain Steam Items for the first treasure found and battle won.
After your well-adventure, clean up in the pond or you can't sell the spoils.

Note 1: Goo will earn you 8 Gold each, Spider Carapace 12 Gold each.
Note 2: Deposit Gold doesn't work yet.
Note 3: You can get the Skeleton Key in Doria.

Riddle 1 (well): Push the yellow crates on the markings to obtain the Tent.

I recommend grinding until you can buy the best gear available before leaving town.
Depending on your difficulty even longer.
Resurrecting will cost 50 Gold per character (church).

Buy the treasure map for 100 Gold from the Weathered Traveller in the inn.

In your room you found the code "07312013".
Pooki: 21 steps to the south, 23 steps to the east after leaving the town (marked as buried Treasure #0). But you can't dig those treasures up yet.

You can obtain an Old Fishing Pole and a Recipe for Thin Fishing Pole from the fisherman at the pond.

Rumor: Deep in the Woods of Despair sleeps a Demon guarding lots of treasure.
A Relic was lost in the desert mountains to the south.

Keep stealing from the Goblins, as they have Tiny SP Orbs, which will give you 40 extra SP when used.

Here you can customize your outfit again.

Those undead are no problem if your white mage has learned Holy Water.
From the skeletons/ghouls you can steal Holy Bombs.

Riddle 2: push the white box on the silver tile with room to the wall, same with the red box and the purple tiles. Reward: High Potion

Far to the north you have to defeat Bats, on legendary difficulty Heal 1 is a must have skill.
The large bat will escape when cornered.

Obtain 3 Potions and the Mid-Potion Recipe from Elizabeth and the Traveller's Vial, 3 Potions, 3 Antidotes and 3 Eye Drops from Dante.

The brigde to the south will be repaired, but first talk to the villagers.
Especially the scholar can name your next needed relics: Rune of Tyterium and Deimos. One is in the Desert Mountain and the other in the Fairy Tower.

At the repaired bridge you have the 2nd cutscene.

Items: 25 Gold (barrel next to workshop), Potion (barrel next to inn)

An Engineerer will get a tip about Tunneling rivers and mountains.
A Tunneling spot is right outside of town.

Midboss: The Pirat will ambush you when you talk to him - he will do 80-135 damage per hit + poison on legendary difficulty and you can't escape. Weak to darkness and stunning him helps. Cast Intense Study with the Engineer to profit from the high EXP.
After your victory you can rest 3x for free at the inn.

The Suspicious Merchant seems to have some legendary gear - but you won't have the money.

Best location to get money and SP: Ancient Ruin
Don't proceed before you have the best gear.

Items (crack): High Potion, 150 Gold

Tunneling Spot.
You need Mining Bombs to break cracks open.
You can cross the gate to the east as a thief and obtain 3 Mining Bombs from the Passer-Through and the Recipes for Nimble Knife, Massive Axe, Spry Robe, Magic Defense Shield and Rugged Cloak from the Paranoid Miner.

Please confront the boss only when you can survive the normal mobs.
You can steal Tiny Magic Potions from Imps.
That is the 1st alternative to fish.

Boss Giant Ogre: Steal a Small SP Orb, Medium SP Orb and Tiny SP Orb, Might Ring, Large Potion. Your party should be able to survive 200 HP hits or blind him!

You obtain the Rune of Tyterium and have a chance for Cutscene #3.
Directly behind the boss is a shortcut out.

A great location for grinding!
Touch those crystal to teleport between the floors.

1. Floor #2 (1st Intersection):
   
   • Center: Silk Robe, Carved Staff, Recipe for Tiny Magic Potion + Riddle #06.
     The red lever changes the destination of the second crystal so pull the green lever!
     Then push the caged boulder to the target plate. After this the other boulder to move the eastern grey boulder to the target (use the torches or your boulder gets stuck!). Last pull the green lever again and guide the last grey boulder to the target. Reward: Medium Magic Potion.
     
   • North: Fire Bomb, Wind Bomb, 250 Gold, Thunder Bomb, Dark Bomb, Broad Sword

Read all notes you come across. The Danger Level is a bit higher than Desert Mountain until you enter part #3. If you have trouble at legendary difficulty then grind at part #2 once your white mage has learnt Holy Light. Part #3 is only doable with Holy Fire! Do Part #4 first, as that is easier.

You can steal from the Zombie Mages Tiny SP Orbs with a much higher chance than the Goblins.

Midboss Gargoyle: Steal Huge Potion Full Potion, Medium Magic Potion. Ait weaker than the Master of the Woods. Cast Bubble and Surge. Weak to fire and holy. Proctect against fire and then cast MDEF up to protect against thunder.

Midboss Master of the Woods: Steal Huge Potion, has a strong thunderbased AoE and hits with 700 HP damage! Weak to fire and holy. Have the same gear as against the Gargoyle and protect against instant death.

Riddle 11: Push both boulders to create stepstones. Reward: Warp Stone and Medium SP Orb.
You have to talk to the guard at the end of part #4!

Bring the 2 Runes to the Relic Collector or finish the Woods of Despair to obtain a ship from the king.
If you have crossed the Woods of Despair, talk to the Throne Room Guard.
Now you can talk to the king.
He asks you to sail with his ship to the Deserted Island in the Central Ocean and meet the Ancient Hermit.
Only travel there after saving in case the mobs are too strong.

Talk to the Hermit and accept his request to find his Medallion.
He will resurrect or let rest you for free (but no saving)!

For the time being, the difficulty is the same as Woods of Despair Part #4 or the Earth Cave.
Pull the 2 white/red levers to proceed.

Ignore the lever to the south! Pull the one to the east first or you get trapped.
Pull the eastern one again to proceed.

Right and up, middle: Small Cottage, Steel Mail, Steel Spear and the save point.
Now left: Wizard's Shoes, Wizard's Hat and east lever.
Pull the left lever again to proceed.

Boss Treant: Steal large Potion, Small SP Orb, Poison Ring, Huge Potion. Weak to fire.

Touch the Large Bat and it will drop Kali's Medallion.

Return to the Hermit for healing! But don't touch the levers!
Time to leave the island.

Talk to the King to obtain the ship (found in the port).
Now you can sell the Runes to the Relic Collector for 75.000 Gold as you don't need them anymore.

Riddle #16: Don't get touched. This time the lever will reset but you can make it easier with the blocks. The Wraith vanish when the last lever is hit.

Boss Helios: You will only get the Achievement and gear for beating him! If you loose, you will be saved and only get the pendant.
He absorbs holy and resists all negative stats. Steal the Protect Ring. Bubble, Regen, Surge and AoE Koi fishes are your livesavers as well as NullFire, NullIce, NullWind and NullDark Spells and Magic Shield, Fortify. Absorbing Gear like the Blaze Hat helps, too. Refresh spells after reviving.

You obtain the Dragon Whip, Dragon Robe, Dragon Hat and the Magic Pendant.

   • Riverdale - Colossus: Rewards are the Rainbow Robe and Rainbow Armor. The 2nd weakest of those 4. Steal Bullseye Ring, Ward Ring, Bubble Ring, Surge Ring and Experience Ring!!! When you need an element then attack with Thunder or Dark. High HP and DEF are a must.

After paying 100 Gold to enter, you can pay 200 Gold to get more information about the Bandit Leader Rufus, hidden in Earth Cave.

You can buy the Skeleton Key for 2.500 Gold.
The Guild Leader will lower your wanted status for 1000 Gold.

You can either defeat Rufus or join the bandits.

If you want to join you have to steal a shard from the purple crystal on the 2nd floor of the Relic Collector's house in Doria. (The Secret passageway is no one way anymore).
Save before you try that as you have to insert a code in time. Failing will call in the guards.
Depending on your keyboard config you have to press another key (Z = confirm!)!
Your reward are 2500 Gold.

Boss 4 Bandits
Boss Rufus: Steal Small SP Orb, 500 Gold, Large Potion, Huge Potion. He is really strong, immune to negative states and you should be able to take 600 HP hits! Best is to cast Bubble and Surge to double your HP and MP, then Regen for healing. The Engineer should refresh the MP with his double effect. Then debuff him and buff your party.

Return to the Doria Treasury and get your 10.000 Gold reward from the Royal Treasurer.
The bridges in the kingdom will be rebuild.

Changes in the Thieves Guild:
They are really sour and won't trade with you anymore.
To lessen your wanted level you have now to pay 10.000 Gold.

Pay 1000 Gold starting money.

The Yellow Moa is extremly slow.
The Blue Moa isn't faster.

Note: you have to smash app. 50 times the "Confirm" button to win...

With Level 44 you should be able to tackle Tier #3 D-B. Cup A only with 4 Protect Rings!
After the Class-upgrade you should be able to tackle Tier #4.
With the whole party at least level 50 you can tackle Tier #5 D & C.
With level over 55 you can beat Tier #5 B & A with lucky RNG for the sharks.

• Level 1-3: Oakwood, well. Start with 2 Slimes, then 3 Slimes until you survive 3 Spiders or 2 Slimes and 2 Spiders.

• Level 6-8: Ancient Ruins, the white mage should have learned Holy Water.

Until level 20 I recommend applying the AP to all stats! Then you can get the cheapest until the costs increase.

With Level 18 you can try the Bosses of Desert Mountain and Forest Tower as well as the Large Slime Hunt.
With Level 20 you can try the Goblin King, Mutated Ghoul, Rock Lizard and Great Bear.
Only then you can try to cross the Woods of despair and get to the Deserted Island.
With Level 24 and all skills learned you can defeat Rufus.
With Level 28 you can start with hunting Tier #2 as well as the midbosses of the Wood of Despair.
With Level 32 you can defeat Helios!
After the Arena Tier #3 or during the Ice Cave with Level 44 you can start with the Targets in written order: Absorbing Jelly (best after obtaining the Luring Rod), Great Snow Golem, Dead Eye, Wicked Necromancer, Loki, Barbarian Brute, Mutated Behemoth, Troll King, Anaconda and last the Mutated Snake, Squid, Dracula.
