A guide to the Armor Bear! I personally think he is the most well balanced character in the game.

An Intro to the Bear
I consider the bear to be quite the destructive force. He has well balanced skills and can be played very defensivly or offensly pending your item build.

You have a chase/stun, an atk speed boost, a high hp regen skill, and an ally summon.

You can take down anyone else who trys to go toe to toe with you. If you start getting kited you have the ability to huff it back to your castle before you die and heal up as long as you play it right.

Hopefully, this guide will give you a bit of insight on in game strategy and how to play the bear a bit more effectivly.

See the matchup section for a preface to skill order.

With a damage focused build + Leveling up Enrage, You can destroy a level 1 barracks at level 3 after killing the opponent before they can respawn if you're close or manage to kill them under their castle.

That's a 200 gold blow to them which is sure to help keep you ahead.
Build Order.

Your build order is to aim for capturing your 2nd gold mine first. After you click to move next to it to capture, go ahead and build your first barracks in the left most spot (If you start on pink side, it's the right most spot).

After your first gold mine has been captured, you can look at the opponents side to see how much time has counted down for them capturing their goldmine. If it's just starting, you can sword charge up and get to their first gold mine before they notice you and you can cap it.

DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR GOLD MINES YET.

Now the play starts, either they'll

  • A. Chase you off the gold mine and try to cap it back

  • B. Chase you off the gold mine and follow you til you're dead.

If A. happens, give it to them and go cap a victory point

If B. happens, make them chase you as far as you can delaying them a gold mine.

While all this is going on, your barracks will finish, and you will want to build 3 soldiers before the first attack wave goes out. This will capture their gold mine for you, so pay attention to collecting the gold from it.

They may have gone for capping victory points, go ahead and cap your vic point in the bot most area of the map, and grab others when you can but focus on economy. At this point, you should have a decent gold advantage while they probably have a victory point advantage which is fine.

If at any point you manage to kill them and you have atleast 1 of their gold mines already, try to do as much damage to their barracks as possible. Even if you die during it, it is worth it to get that damage. If you can destroy it, the game is gaurenteed yours as long as you have 50+ victory points.

Start capping points and you should have the game in the bag.

Bear vs. Bear

unit order
Aim for 3 - 5 soldiers (100 gold unit) and 0 - 2 archers. No range on the bear means that the bear can't do anything about your units unless he goes in to fight them in range. If he does, you can either go for a fight behind your units if you've built yours faster (See Build order section) or while he's defending (again if you've built fast enough) you can aim to steal the opposite side goldmine/victory tower. You're playing to build up a better economy than your opponent. If you start to hit end game (Castle upgarde 2 - > 3) You'll need to start aiming for their character, then destroying their bearracks. Once their destroyed, slowly take down the defences and keep on capping victory points.

1 v 1
In this matchup, if you get into a fight it's best to save your sword charge for near the end.

In a 1 on 1 fight without minion help, summon duck friend first followed by enrage. Save self-resesucitation for when you're below half life. Having the duck out immeaditly gives you a large advantage if they don't cast theirs at the start of a fight. (It's amazing how few people I see call duck out first)

If you've got the advantage, use sword charge and stun. If you're losing, be glad you saved sword charge to escape and try to get to your castle to heal. Most likely they are going to need to head back to heal too unless you've given them quite the advantage.
