Personally I don't use the toll gates. They do slow the path which causes the agent to look for better ways but it has big drawbacks. A) it slows all traffic going through. My point it is hard to get a van or transport truck to take a bus or metro. Also it slows services greatly. Imagine hearse attendants pulling a casket aboard a train. I don't like toll gates, plus there are no sidewalks which strands pedestrians. Here in this clip one of the reasons they all walk here is because the toll stops car cars and pedestrians from going to work. as soon as I added the path they found a working route to work. Notice the toll gate in the clip.

What is your opinion on tollgates? The slow down traffic significantly, but if they can make commuters use public transport or walk through park areas (with admission fees) instead of driving, then I would consider it a win.

In this clip I tried to show that due to lane rule at intersections, you can force six lanes of traffic into one lane.

@Coookyman, Highway pieces have their own rules. The ramp piece also has different rules to it then other road pieces. "Is this highway exclusive behaviour?" I want to say yes, but I know when using six lane one way roads you can too force traffic into one lane if you not careful.

great summary!
I knew the "avoid ramp" mechanic counts lanes, but didn't realize lots of ramps also do this.
and I didn't think so far to connect the "to few nodes so lets cut over all lanes" mechanic.
But I have seen it in the vid: a truck in avoidance lane cuts over all 3 to leave next ramp.
and it boils down to: use propper lane math, add enough lanes a few nodes upsteam and you can branch of the added lanes as groups.

is this highway exclusive behaviour?
