Unlocking the FPS in Betrayer
--go to
Documents\My Games\Betrayer\UDKGame\Config
--open
UDKEngine
--find (its in there two times)
MaxSmoothedFrameRate
--change it to the max number of frames you would like to display (e.g. 120)
SAVE
--then boot the game
! NOTE !
There is no reason to push the games FPS past what your monitor/tv can display. The “Hz” or commonly referred to as “Refresh Rate” of the monitor represents its top limit. That limit is the number you want to set this at. Common Refresh Rates include 59, 60, 120, 144.

A shame I played most of it in sub 60. This guide is a godsend.

And I'm in heaven! Clarity! Instead of 60 Hz blur.

Tip: Install monitor driver ! Also depending on card, you will have like 72, 75, 85, or 100 Hz to match FPS to your PC specs.

Use Adaptive sync/RTSS if you see very high framerates in menus etc!

Only the paste below is necessary to fix the game, the rest can be set easily in NVidia Control Panel in seconds.

It's great to see how educated gamers have become! Just 3 years ago, this knowledgeable gamer got bashed by idiots who don't know anything. :'(

The file will be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\YOURGAME\UDKGame\Config\DefaultEngineUDK.ini.

MaxSmoothedFrameRate was not there, depends. But I found MinDesiredFrameRate.

The fix:

Under [Engine.GameEngine], add 3 lines:

MinDesiredFrameRate=118.000000
MaxSmoothedFrameRate=120.000000
bSmoothFrameRate=TRUE

Thank you for posting this - so weird that they don't put this in settings if the engine is capable of rednering past 62 fps. But it works and I thank you kind sir.

I found three different lines from Engine file I have.
Tested on 144hz monitor and game runs very smoothly now. Thanks for tip :B1:
PS : Nice avatar ;-) (Tower Knight from DS, like it)

This fix works for all other unreal engine games as well. Definitely needed if you're running a 120hz or higher monitor.

its normally locked at 60 like most games on that engine

A small question but what is the FPS normally locked at?
