Purpose Of This Guide
When booting up the game for the first time, you might notice that the default setting are a little strange. The game doesn't start in fullscreen, and the instructions for the controls pertain to PS4 controllers. If you're like me and weren't blessed with Chiaki Nanami's gamer senses, you might be struggling to fix these issues. This guide is intended to help anyone struggling to set up their game properly.
Saving
Most people struggle to open the Monopad since the instructions are garbage for some reason. If you have controller instructions enabled, it'll give you the PS4 controls, which some people can't use. If you have the keyboard instructions enabled, it'll tell you to press F to open the Monopad, even though that isn't the correct button. Like the previous Danganronpa games for PC, the button to open it is F1. Some people might need to press FN+F1.
The Configuration Tool
To change the game's settings, you'll need to find the Configuration tool. There are two ways to do this. The first is to look at the small window that pops up when the game launches and select "Launch Configuration Tool." If this window doesn't appear for whatever reason, go into the game's files and select the file highlighted below:

One way to do this if you don't know how is to right click the title of the game in your library menu, go to "Manage," and then click "Browse Local Files."

The Configuration Tool looks like this:

Fullscreen Mode
To change the default setting to Fullscreen, click the dropdown menu next to "Display Mode" and select Fullscreen. As for Resolution, 1920x1080 is the perfect size for my laptop screen, but you can choose what works best for you. If you need to Alt+Tab at any point, you'll notice that the display reverts to Windowed Mode. To go back into Fullscreen mode at any time, just press Alt+Enter (If this tip was helpful to you, please thank the creator of the "FULLSCREEN FIX" guide).

Fixing the Instructions
To change the instructions from the PS4 controls to Computer controls, click the dropdown menu by "Help Type" and change the settings from "Gamepad" to "Keyboard & Mouse." I use QWERTY, which is why it's the one highlighted in the image below. If you missed any controls due to originally receiving the controller instructions, feel free to ask about it in the comments.

The End
I wanted to use this space to thank everyone who kindly left all the awards. It was very sweet of you, and I appreciate the gesture. Steam doesn't tell you the usernames of people who left them, so I'll probably never know who those people were. I hope they can see this message someday.

That's all I had to say. I hope this simple guide was able to help someone. If there's something that you think I should add, please let me know. Otherwise, enjoy your fixed game.

Some people have had success with Shift+F1. Maybe you could try that?

Thanks for the kind words! And I’m really sorry that I can’t help :/ The only thing I can suggest is that you really do need to hold FN first, as that’s what disables the original function of the F1 key so you can use it the way the game wants you to. But if nothing happens when you press and hold it, I’m not sure what else to say except keep experimenting with the keys.

I wish they would have just made the menu button the Escape button like a normal game, but here we are 🙃

Most things in this guide worked great! Thank you so much! But I still have a problem opening the Monopad, and this might be an issue you can´t help with since I haven´t seen anyone else complaining about it. But when I click F1 + FN it just opens Windows Media Player for me... And I´ve spent a good 20 min trying to find a way to disable that shortcut, I even deleted the app but now when I press those buttons my PC just asks me to download the app again.

I´ve tried pressing FN first too, instead of pressing F1 first. And just F1 and just F and trying F + FN, etc. But it doesn´t do anything... The only results I get is pressing F1 and then FN and that just opens up that dumb app. I´m hoping I just have a similar problem as someone else in these comments, that I´ll be able to save when there is no dialouge. I really hope I´ll be able to save my progress so I can actually enjoy this game.

@redrosepopstar1 Sorry, I have no idea what that could be. If anyone has a solution, let me know so I can add it to the guide.

Whenever I enter a room, my screen makes a weird alarm noise and does a slow flashing thing. It is also hard to move my cursor when this happens.
