What is Overwatch?
Overwatch is a program where Valve gives you the power to decide someones fate. You review someone that has been reported for disruptive behaviour, and determine whether the reports are valid, and apply bans if appropriate.
How do I gain access to it?
To be an Overwatch Investigator, you need to meet these requirements:
  • Have 350 hours on CS:GO total.
  • Win 150 competitive games.
  • Be Gold Nova 1 or higher.
  • Never been banned/vacced
  • Decent trust factor
Once you have gained access to Overwatch, you will see a shield with a + beside it, above your settings. All you need to do is press "download evidence" and once its done, press "review evidence". You can't skip or rewind on Overwatch replays, but you can fast forward and slow down. Press Shift + F2 to open up the replay settings and fast forward or slow down whenever you feel like it.

Sometimes the Overwatch evidence doesn't download, I'm not quite sure why but you just have to wait a little while for it to download.

How can I analyse the suspect?
Overwatch is very advanced now, I typically find someone who is spinning like crazy and hitting head shots through walls. Obviously, that's a cheater. Sometimes you find someone who hides their cheats and you need to watch carefully. If you press "x" when you're in the replay, you should be able to see the other players highlighted through walls, that'll help you make your decision. If the suspect is constantly locking on heads, aim assistance is what you can ban them for. Always pre-firing or aiming through walls, usually vision assistance. Other external assistance is typically bhopping, spinning or speed hacking. Griefing, isn't cheating, but its disruptive/anti social behaviour. Such as, killing a teammate, blocking a teammate, etc. If you have 150 wins, you most likely have ran into a few hackers and griefers and learned what its like looking for one. Here's an example of a obvious cheater.

What do I get from being an Investigator?
Unfortunately, you don't get too much. You get a small XP bonus when multiple suspects have been banned. But if you do good, and if you have a weekly bonus XP reward, you will get a large bonus. You will see the bonus by hovering over your level and you will get a notification in-game saying thank you for helping the community.

Thank you!
