After many hours in vanilla GD I could not stand the default bright visuals anymore.

Firstly: With the help of Grim Internals

we can fix the day cycle. In use here is the Time of day with 24 o´clock.




Next step: Using the Reshade preset GrimShape.ini.
Reshade is not the optimal solution (UI visuals are changing too), but there is no other manual solution for us.

Instructions for ReShade version 4.7
In use are the legacy standard effects.

Select effect packages to install:
- Standard effect is already switched on
- Legacy standard effects (only select this when using old presents) on
- Everything else off!
- Ok.

- select legacy standard effects: all on!
- Ok.

Before you close the setup tool,
switch on "Skip tutorial" and "Performance Mode".
Then everything should start automatically.

Install GrimShape.ini:
- Insert the Grimshape.ini into the program folder:

Grim Dawn 64bit
\Grim Dawn\x64\

Grim Dawn 32bit
\Grim Dawn\

Last step: Move the Fullscreen Gamma slider to your liking



Recommendation: Camera default view key binding for more enjoyment of the game details. In the past I was playing only with max zoom out and missed lots of the details. Depending on the action, change the zoom level.

Little controller optimization for two more keys:

In case you are using only the primary weapon remap the key for one more quickbar slot or in my case I have changed the left thumbstick for the default camera (I am using quite a lot the camera rotation with the right stick).


The 2nd: I have never used the default LT mapping with my chars.
LT - left trigger remapped to quickbar slot 08.

Recently I am using these values plus the windows core switcher tool below (i5 4670k @4.7, 1080ti, ssd, Win10 pro 64) for bit more smoothness - disable the same values in GD.
