I don't like SU.

I just like to write and post cringe.

Note: this one is very wacky so strap yourself in.

It had been a while since Steven left, Connie understood why he had to but she kept in touch with him.

That was until he stopped answering her calls.

Connie was confused at first but was very worried after about 2 days.

"What was he doing?" she thought to herself as she started to worry more and more.

The next day Connie told the gems, causing them to also worry about where Steven had gone and why he wasn't answering.

As 4 days passed; Connie and the gems worried greatly, some even starting to panic while some tried to contact Steven via different methods.

That was until a police man came to the door 8 days after he stopped replying and informed them that Steven had sadly been killed.

Turns out Steven had made a wrong turn in a bad neighborhood and got jumped and killed by a gang of murderous thugs.

The Gems and Connie were all heartbroken.

Connie's boyfriend was dead.

The leader of the gems was dead.

Steven's body was then brought back to Beach city and later buried in a local graveyard.

After Steven's funeral, Connie and the gems were depressed; Pearl struggled badly but Connie was the worst affected.

Connie went through the 5 stages of grief as expected, even passing the 5th as normal but struggled with depression after due to the hole in her life that Steven's death had created.

Connie did see a therapist but it did very little, her depression was unchanged and even trials of medication did nothing to actually move her out of this depressed state.

Connie was so depressed that nothing much mattered to her anymore, going as far as to take it out on herself physically with a razor blade every now and then.

This continued for months after Stevens death, Peridot had also gone mad in the time he was gone before he died but nobody had seen her or visited since the gems last visited her.

Connie had also heard about the mutated plants and the things Peridot had developed in her lair which gave her an idea.

Maybe and just maybe Peridot could make something to help fix her.

Therapy had failed her and medication had failed her but maybe increasing her brains serotonin in some way would help.

Maybe a little bit of genetic alteration would help her out.

Connie's mother was a doctor and she did remember hearing something from her mother about serotonin being involved with stuff like this but had no idea if this would actually work.

But to Connie it didn't matter to her anymore.

All she wanted was for the pain to stop.

She wanted it to stop so badly, she even considered just ending it all.

But with Peridot's mad science gene editing, maybe she could find some peace.

So Connie decided that this had to be worth it, this had to be done but their was no way that anyone would take her willingly to the old beta kindergarten due to the risks of Peridot maybe snapping and killing them.

But she knew one gem who could drop her off near it so that she could go in herself.

Lapis.

Now knowing who she needed to help her, Connie left to seek out Peridot (without telling her mother about her plan).

Connie then got on a warp pad and warped herself to Little Home world and started looking for Lapis. (at around 13:22pm)

Connie looked around and eventually found her, her students had finished class and she was on break.

Connie approached Lapis and said to her "Lapis, I need your help"

Lapis replies "Oh hi Connie, whats wrong?"

Connie replies "I need your help, I need to reach the old beta kindergarten"

Lapis replies "Why the hell would you want to go to the old beta kindergarten?"

Connie replies "I need to speak to Peridot, I need her help and she knows me as Steven's girlfriend so shes unlikely to attack me."

Lapis replies "are you sure you want to do that? I know Peridot knows you but shes quite dangerous now, shes nothing like you remember her being"

Connie replies "I'm sure, I just need to talk to her"

Lapis replies "OK but why do you need to see her? whats so important that you would go into such a dangerous place?"

Connie replies "Its... complicated... I don't like to talk about it"

Lapis replies "why? is it bad?"

Connie replies "Yes, its quite personal too so I would prefer to just move on and get this over with"

Lapis looks at Connie with concern and replies "ok... lets... get going then"

Lapis then picks Connie up and starts flying towards the old beta kindergarten.

[Lapis and Connie are flying towards the old beta kindergarten]

As Lapis is flying Connie towards the old beta kindergarten, Connie looks down towards the ground miles below them and has a thought.

"What if I just let myself drop? what if I just let it all end here? what if i just let go?"

For a moment, Connie considers just letting herself slip out of Lapis grip but remembers that there is still hope, hope that Peridot will have the answer she needs.

Later, Lapis lands on the border of the zone that Peridot's creatures have turned into their town and says to Connie "should I come in with you or will you be good on your own?"

Connie replies "I think I'll be good on my own"

Lapis replies "i think its best I come with you, mainly because I need to fly you back so it would only make sense"

Connie, realising that she can't avoid this as Lapis is actually the only one who can get her back agrees and says "good point, good to have an extra hand around to help me escape if it all goes wrong too"

After this, Lapis and Connie make their way to the spiral that leads to Peridot's lair and make their way down.

Upon reaching Peridots main room, Connie is in shock when she sees what Peridot has actually become.

A large monster made from plants.

Peridot then turns herself around and sees Connie.

Peridot, surprised by this jumps back a bit and says "OH, hi Connie, long time no see"

Connie replies "Peridot, what happened to you?"

Peridot replies "Did the gems not tell you?"

Connie replies "I was warned that you had changed but I didn't expect this"

Peridot replies "Its always a shock to new visitors but that is not important, why are you here?"

Connie replies "its important, I need your help with a problem of mine"

Peridot replies "what problem?"

Connie replies "Ill tell you in a second, one moment"

Connie then says to Lapis "could you wait outside the room, this is private"

Lapis, not wanting to be rude decides to leave the room and give Connie some privacy to talk to Peridot.

Connie then said to Peridot "ok now that shes gone I can explain"

Connie then explained what had happened, Steven's death, her depression, why she was here, etc.

Peridot understood everything, she was upset with Steven being dead but understood why Connie was here and what would drive her to go this far.

Peridot understood her pain and decided to help.

Peridot looked through what she had and found something, a gene alteration retrovirus that fixed her creations hormone imbalances in earlier versions and would probably work on Connie as her creations had brains based from human DNA so it should work.

Peridot also created the gene alteration retrovirus to manage the level of chloroplasts as some of her creations had low or high chloroplasts, meaning they got too much or not enough energy from the sun.

But humans didn't have chloroplasts so it would probably have no effect on Connie as far as Peridot knew.

As far as Peridot knew, it would probably do as intended with very few side effects.

Peridot then said "Ok this gene alteration retrovirus should work".

Peridot then gave the gene alteration retrovirus to Connie by injecting her carefully in the back of the neck in a way where the gene alteration retrovirus was passed directly into the spinal fluid and would work its way up to the brain and directly apply the genetic alteration.

After giving Connie the injection, Peridot removed the needle, sealed up the hole and told her to: 1. come back if anything bad happens or if her condition is instead made worse.
and 2. that the effect may take a few days to actually become noticeable.

After this, Connie called Lapis back into the room, thanked Peridot and decided that it was time to go.

Peridot said goodbye to Connie as Connie and Lapis left and made their way back up to the surface.

Lapis then flew Connie back to Little Home World and landed.

Connie then thanked Lapis before going over to the warp pad and warping her way back to the house.

By the time Connie got back to the house it was quite late, she had been out way longer than she expected and it was already 22:34pm.

Seeing how late it was, Connie decided to just go to home and to bed.

But as Connie got in bed, she realised that she risks not waking up if Peridots mutations mess her up badly.

She may even gets stuck as a vegetable or driven insane.

But she no longer cared, she hated being depressed like this and it was too late to go back now anyway so worrying would do nothing for her.

Connie fell asleep that night and woke up the next day at around 4am, feeling thirsty and in a better mood than yesterday.

Connie went into the kitchen and got herself a glass of water and decided to head back to bed as getting up this early was not a good idea.

But on the way back Connie saw her reflection in a mirror in another room and noticed that she was paler than before, her skin having lost some of its colour.

Seeing this, Connie went over to the mirror and noticed that the colour of her skin and eyes looked as if it was starting to fade.

Not only that but her hair was also becoming more faded and losing its colour.

Connie considered if Peridots injection could have done this but it didn't make any sense to her, humans had no chloroplasts so maybe it was just a hallucination from tiredness or a trick of the light.

After this Connie went back to bed and slept till 6pm, much longer than she intended.

Connie woke up in a much better mood than before, so much so that her depression was almost gone, she still felt sad a bit but she was glad that it was mostly gone.

That was until she passed the mirror again and was was shocked to see that she had actually lost all colour.

Her skin had lost all pigment, her eyes were now white and her hair was now a pure white.

her whole body was devoid of pigment.

Connie was confused at first but realised that it must be a strange side effect of Peridots injection.

Peridots injection had accidentally given her Albinism.

Connie stumbled back with confusion and looked down at herself, processing the fact that she had change so much.

Connie's mother came around the corner and for a moment didn't recognise her, thinking she was someone else but quickly realising who she was looking at.

It took Connie's mother a moment but she then saw the injection wound on Connie's neck and realised that Connie had done something to herself.

Connie's mother, confused, said to her "Connie? is that you? what happened?"

Connie, confused, replied "I-I don't know"

Connie's mother then replied "Connie, I see the scar on your neck, what have you done?"

Connie, slightly scared, replied "I-I'm sorry mom, I had to do something, I couldn't suffer like that anymore so I found some help but it seems to have had some side effects"

Connie's Mother, worried, replied "Who did you go to? what did you do?"

Connie replied "Peridot, I visited Peridot and she gave me something to fix my mood but it seems to have had some unexpected side effects"

Connie's Mother, now very worried, replied "what did she give you?"

Connie replied "she gave me something she called a "gene alteration retrovirus" or whatever she called it"

Connie's Mother looked at Connie with fear, grabbed her and took her to the hospital where she could run tests on her to make sure this thing didn't kill her or cause any damage.

But after extensive testing, it showed that not only was Connie fine but she was actually in perfect health.

The gene alteration retrovirus had also destroyed all pigmentation in her skin, eyes and hair but that was the only negative effect.

Not only that but by this time the gene alteration retrovirus had changed Connie's brain, curing her depression and putting her in a good state of mind.

Connie's Mother was pleasantly surprised by this, not only was Connie in good health but she was happy, the only problem being the Albinism but it wasn't that much a problem.

But Connie's mother noticed something else.

This gene alteration retrovirus had potential.

Depression was a serious problem around the world but this gene alteration retrovirus could hold an answer to removing the problem, the only downside was the Albinism but that could be fixed.

Connie's mother then started experimenting with the gene alteration retrovirus, trying to remove the Albinism issue but found that it was very very complex.

Connie's mother ended up spending days experimenting with the gene alteration retrovirus, testing it, experimenting with it on lab animals and recording the results.

Connie's mother discovered that the gene alteration retrovirus Peridot had created didn't need cells to reproduce, all it needed was the right conditions and it could split into copies like a bacteria does via binary fission, something that viruses can't do due to lacking the necessary parts.

That was until Connie's mother ended up accidentally getting infected by the gene alteration retrovirus when a spilled sample landed on a small wound that she never knew she even had.

At this point Connie's mother had no idea she was even infected.

Connie's mother worked for hours; not noticing that her skin was losing its colour or that her mood was slowly improving.

As Connie's mother felt better and better, she focused more and more.

But her focus was broken when she accidentally dropped a pencil while taking notes.

But as Connie's mother went to pick up the pencil, she saw her hand, it was colourless.

Connie's mother seeing this knew what had happened.

She had accidentally infected herself.

Connie's mother also noticed her greatly improved mood and realised something else about the retrovirus in that moment...

This Albinism had potential; she tried to remove it but failed to see what potential it had.

She knew of the horrors that were committed just because of skin colour.

She knew that maybe this could remove that problem too.

It felt wrong to her initially but she knew what had to be done.

This retrovirus wasn't a disease like she thought it was, no, it was not a sickness.

It was a cure.

A cure for the problems that humans had, how evil they could be, the pain that plagued them.

Connie's mother hated what she had to do but she knew it had to be done.

Connie's mother took some virus samples and started testing on them, seeing how she could make them spread further or even faster.

Connie's mother then found that the virus could only spread in fluids such as blood, spit, urine, etc.

But she found something else, it could spread via aerosolized body fluids such as mucus via coughing and in water.

And in testing she found that the retrovirus was able to spread by piggybacking on another disease like a Cold or Flu via coughing and other body fluids.

Seeing this, Connie's mother had an idea.

Connie's mother planned to initially give herself a cold and to use it as a means of spreading the retrovirus as far as possible.

But she couldn't start a proper infection spread on her own, she needed a way to spread it beyond beach city.

So Connie's mother decided to intentionally package the retrovirus and the cold together into a fluid that was put in a spray bottle.

With this she could easily spray and spread the retrovirus.

But this wasn't enough, she needed to know if animals could spread it.

So she did some tests and found that the Albinism was mostly exclusive to humans and only had a minor chance of occurring in infected animals.

Seeing this, Connie's mother knew the best way to spread this would be via birds and rats as bird faeces could spread the virus too and they could travel long distances and across oceans.

while rats on the other hand could get into domestic areas and spread the virus among humans easily via the rats being consumed by cats and it then jumping to humans via the cats body fluids.

This would do good, but human to human transmission was what she needed most.

So she had an idea, she hated having to even consider it but she knew what had to be done.

She had to infect Connie with a cold and send her out to do stuff to make the virus spread as much as possible.

Knowing this would infect plenty of people, Connie's mother had no choice.

Rats and birds won't cut it.

So that night Connie's mother went home ans took the infect spray bottle with her.

Her daughter was glad to see her but was confused when she saw that her mother had been changed too.

Connie's mother then explained to Connie that she accidentally got infected but was ok.

Later that night, Connie's mother took the infected spray and carefully sprayed Connie while she was sleeping to give her the cold needed to spread the retrovirus.

The next day, Connie woke up and was sent out by her mother to get some stuff for her from the store.

During this Connie's nose started to run and she developed a cough, causing the start of the viruses spread.

She coughed accidentally on about 5 people while she was out at the store, causing them to all get infected without knowing.

While Connie was gone, Connie's mother had an idea to help spread the infection as far as possible...

Connie came home later with what her mother wanted only to find that her mother was doing something in the garage.

Connie found her mother to be modifying the family car, she had added a spraying system on top linked to a large pressurised tank in the back full of fluid and what looked like lab equipment and extra fuel in the trunk of the car.

Connie asked her mother what she was doing and Connie's mother replied

"Oh I'm just trying something out"

Connie replied "what are you building?"

Connie's mother replied "Its uhhh.." unable to think of a way to explain what she was doing in a way that would make sense and hide what she was doing.

That is when Connie's mother decided to just come clean and tell her what it was.

Connie's mother said "its... its a sprayer."

Connie replied "whats it for?"

Connie's mother replied "is for a project i need you to help me with"

Connie replied "what is it?"

Connie's mother replied "I need you to understand what I'm about to tell you, this thing that changed us isn't a sickness like I thought it was, its a cure Connie, its going to save lots of people"

Connie replied "what do you mean?"

Connie's mother replied "some people are hateful Connie and some are stuck in sadness but this could fix all that"

Connie is disgusted by this but understands what her mother is talking about, it felt very wrong to Connie to change people like that but she understood what her mother was talking about.

Her mother continued to explain how cruel people can be, how sad it all is and how this could fix that.

Connie hated the idea of changing people like this but saw what it could do, how many lives it could save and fix.

So in the end Connie agreed, it was morally wrong to her to change people like this but she knew it had to be done.

With the way the world was and how seeded with hatred and sadness it was, it had to be done.

Connie then decided to help her mother spread the infection, the lords work had to be done.

Connie and her mother got in the car, started the engine, armed the sprayers and backed out onto the road.

Showtime...

Connie and her mother drove around beach city and down every street, spraying a fine mist of infected fluid as they went, infecting everyone they passed.

After this, they drove out of beach city and out into other cities and towns, only stopping to refuel the car and the infection tank, even stealing fuel from gas stations to keep going.

Connie and her mother continued for days; only stopping to eat, sleep and refuel; spreading the infection wherever they went.

Connie felt happy inside, she felt complete.

The hole in her heart where Steven was had healed.

She had found purpose.

They did this for months, driving place to place, spreading the virus.

They did it so effectively that it even jumped from the US to other countries and was spreading fast on its own.

That was until Connie and her mother drove down south of the US.

Connie her mother found themselves in Louisiana where they were eventually stopped by a group of white hooded men who surrounded them, captured and interrogated them.

When questioned, Connie had an idea and claimed that she and her mother were "angels sent from heaven to save humanity"

When asked for proof, Connie took a blood sample from herself and asked for them to bring her one of "the damned" they hated so much so that she could prove it.

Connie then used her blood to infect "the damned" and proved that she could "cure people" by making them swallow a drop of her blood.

Connie also repeated this with her mothers blood, showing the same effect.

The white hooded men saw this slow transformation of "the damned" over time and were amazed.

They genuinely now believed that Connie and her mother were angels sent from heaven.

Connie and her mother then had an idea, the white hooded men respected them and this gave them an opportunity.

So Connie pounced on that opportunity and slowly started to indoctrinate the white hooded men into thinking she and her mother were divine beings.

Connie then wrote a gospel that her new disciples would follow and named it:

"The Gospel of Blank Salvation"

Connie's mother was partly against the idea of indoctrinating such potentially violent people but saw the potential in having so many people now on their side who would follow commands.

So Connie using this newfound power slowly indoctrinated the white hooded men to follow her gospel which had a code of conduct regarding how they should behave.

One rule was that if a damned was unable to be saved by her gift, then they would be slain as heretics who were truly damned and beyond saving.

Connie also gave a sample of her own blood to each of her followers to swallow, changing them too and making able to also spread the virus.

After a while, Connie and her mother had a loyal following of white hooded men who would play a role in spreading the virus.

Connie and her mother then had an idea, they purchased multiple cheap cars and equipment to build more spraying cars and taught their followers how to build and operate these "holy chariots of salvation" and how to produce more "holy fluid".

Once their followers were taught how to build and operate these vehicles and produce more holy fluid; they filled the spray tanks with infected fluid and were sent out to spread the virus as far as possible.

This caused a massive jump in injections and the disease quickly spread across the USA in less than a month due to the virus spreading at a fast pace and its effects being mostly beneficial except for the temporary cough it caused which made people want to spread it intentionally.

The virus even jumped to other countries via birds and rats and somehow managing to cross over into insects.

The virus quickly changed the world, Connie gaining more and more disciples at a rapid rate as the virus spread across the globe.

By the time the last person was infected it was too late to develop a cure as the virus was mutating and spreading too fast and would come back immune to the drugs that were used against it as it adapted too quickly.

About a year after the outbreak started, the world was infected and Connie was now the leader of a large faction that called itself the "Blank Salvation" which cured anyone it found and wiped out those who were too damned to be saved.

At this point, depression had been cured and racial hatred was gone due to the fact it no longer had a reason to exist.

Connie and her mother looked at the world they had created, it was perfect now.

Connie had saved them all and destroyed those who were unable to be saved.

She had set them free.
