Hayate no Gotoku!! 2nd Season (ハヤテのごとく!! Hayate no Gotoku!!?), known in English as Hayate the Combat Butler 2nd Season is a 25-episode anime, excluding OVA, and was aired in Japan between April 3, 2009 and September 18, 2009, produced by J.C.Staff. Episode 00 is an Original Video Animation (OVA) and was released in Japan on March 6, 2009, produced by J.C.Staff. Unlike the first season, the second season retcons the events of the first season by stating at the onset that a month has pass since Hayate became Nagi's butler, and not a year, as shown in the first season, thus following true to the timeline in the original manga. This season focuses more intently on the manga plot unlike the first season which only followed partially. It follows the story from Volume 5 Chapter 52 to Volume 14 Chapter 148.
