If you are not used to playing games while they are still in alpha then I strongly discourage you from doing so as alpha is still an early development stage and the game will always change massively from alpha to final release product.
Instead I recommend you play the OPEN BETA instead and by that development stage very little tends to change from open beta into release. What you get during open beta is usually what you can expect at launch.
The purpose of alpha tests are to see if the core mechanics work or need to change, if they are going in the right direction in terms of the map design and weapon designs/handling and to see if their engine has any major performance issues. we do a little trolling
