Its set a few years after and garnet has lost most of her strength due to being in a wheelchair and now has PTSD from the wendigo incident.

Also, Greg (Stevens dad) has died of old age, he died unexpectedly in his sleep due to COPD caused by a life of smoking like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chimney.

Lapis ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off somewhere to live her own life, ♥♥♥♥ knows where she went.

I dont like SU, i just wanted to write.
Part 1. An Axe to Grind.
An unknown man who's face we can't see wakes up in his padded cell.
(first person point of view, so we can't see his face because we see what he sees)

The man then gets up; looks round; walks over to his cell door and looks out of a sliding slot on the door into an empty and dark hallway with other cells and a single window with a rail next to it; allowing in some moonlight to illuminate the hallway.

The man then reaches into his sleeve and pulls out a long, thin metal wire with a curved end and pokes it out of the cell door slot.

The man uses the wire to grab and unlock a simple sliding lock on his cell door, unlocking it.

The man then carefully opens his cell door and emerges out into the dark hallway with other cells and the one window with a rail close to it.

The man looks around to see if its clear before heading back into his cell and emerging again with a long rope made from tied together sheets.

The man then drags the rope over to the nearby window and inspects it.

The man quickly finds that the window is locked.

The man then takes off his shoe and partly removes the sole, revealing a small lock picking tool hidden inside.

The man then lock picks the window and manages to get it open.

The man looks out the window, showing that hes on the 4th floor of a tall secure mental asylum, just above a large fenced off yard that leads directly into a forest and that its currently very late at night, the moon shining down and illuminating the scene.

The man then lowers the rope out the window, the end of the rope itself only being 1ft away from the floor outside as he tied the other end to the metal rail near the window.

The man then slowly descends down the rope and eventually finds himself safely on the ground in the fenced off yard.

The man then quickly makes his way towards the fence and pulls out a small pair of cutters from his pant leg and starts cutting away at the fence.

And after about 2 minutes of cutting the fence, the fence has a big enough hole for him to step through.

the man then steps through the hole in the fence and starts running off into the woods, now having just escaped from a mental asylum in the middle of the night.

The man then runs deep into the woods for what felt like hours, heading south, the moon slowly passing him by as he kept running.

Eventually the mans sprint slowed down to a run.

And then eventually slowed down to just a walk.

After what was around 4 hours of just continuous movement, the man came to a stop and looked around, needing a rest.

The man looked at the moon and knew where he was, he had gone south by 12 miles.

Now was the perfect time to stop and rest, he needed it after going like that for so long.

The man looked around and found a decently sized hollow log, blocked the back end with a nearby rock, crawled in and went to sleep.

[the next day]

[The scene changes to the gems house]

Pearl wakes up, gets out of bed, walks into the kitchen and makes herself something to eat.

Garnet wheels herself in from her bedroom and says to Pearl "hey Pearl, can we go out today?"

Pearl replies "Are you sure? do you think your in a good enough mood today?"

Garnet replies "Yeah, I am, it would do us some good too, you spend so much time taking care of me so I think we should go out and give you a change of scenery for once.

Pearl replies "Good idea, but where should we go?"

Garnet replies "Maybe we should just go around beach city?"

Pearl replies "That sounds good"

Pearl and Garnet then head outside and Pearl carefully helps Garnet down a ramp; custom built outside the house to help her reach the city without her wheelchair getting stuck in the sand.

Pearl Then takes Garnet into beach city so that they can have a day out.

[back in the forest]

the man emerges from the log and stretches, sleeping in it wasn't comfortable but it wasn't the worst.

The man looks around and looks south, the way he was going before he stopped.

the man then continues south for about 4 more miles before coming across a specific hollow log, not the one he slept in last night but one he remembers.

The man then looks inside the log and finds 6 items, a compass, a map, a watch, a metal cylindrical mask with 2 eye holes and a pointed nose, a large sealed plastic bag with clothing and... an axe with several blood stains...

The man takes out the mask first, slowly sliding his head into the mask as the camera view changes to show him now wearing it instead of it being from his first person view.

The man is also wearing a white set of loose clothing, clearly clothing from when he was in the asylum.

The man then takes out the plastic bag and gets changed, shedding the asylum clothing and putting on the contents of the bag and putting the asylum clothing in the bag, then putting it back in the log to hide it.

The man, now wearing a pair of jeans, a black shirt, a new pair of shoes and a sweater with black and grey stripes and his mask; takes the compass, the map, the watch... and the axe...

The man the opens the map and looks at it.

The asylum is marked on it with several towns nearby.

The man looks at the map, the closer towns are marked but something catches his eye, a far off town south of him called "beach city".

It was far from the asylum but something felt right about it, it was out of the way and isolated enough for him.

the man marked beach city on his map, lined himself up with it on his compass and started making his way to beach city.

On the way there, the man realised that walking would take too long, so he stood by the road and waited for the sound of an oncoming car to use as a way to get there,

A car eventually came along and the man stepped out to force them to stop.

The car screeched to a halt just feet away from the man as the lone driver then got out to ask him "what the ♥♥♥♥ are you doing?"

But the driver had no time to react as an axe blade was suddenly driven into his head, killing him.

The man then picked up the drivers body and dragged it off into the woods, came back, got in the car and started driving towards beach city.
Part 2. Meat Beat Mania: Quest of the MeatCanyon
[back at beach city with Pearl and Garnet]

Pearl and Garnet are at a clothing store, checking out whats it has to offer.

Garnet takes interest in a leather jacket, it has black leather and a fuzzy inside that feels nice while Pearl finds a pair of jeans that are the perfect size for her; she struggled to use pants before but thought about giving them another try.

Pearl says to garnet "That sure is a nice jacket you picked out."

Garnet replies "Thanks but I thought you hated wearing human clothes?"

Pearl replies "Oh, I thought I would give them another try"

Garnet replies "Sounds good to me, I have no use for clothing but its always nice to try new things"

Pearl smiled and replied "You make a good point, so have you chose what you want?"

Garnet replies "yeah, I think I'm done"

Garnet and Pearl both pay for the clothing and move on to see what else they can find.

Pearl and Garnet then went to the peer to visit the arcade, Garnet may be crippled but she could still play most of the games there.

Upon reaching the arcade Pearl and Garnet went in and looked around, a new game had been installed called "Meat Beat Mania: Quest of the MeatCanyon", it was just like the original but much harder and with intense boss battles and even a speed run mode.

Garnet approached the game and looked at it, it had the same controls as the original meaning she could definitely play it despite being in a wheelchair.

Garnet looked at the machine, only 25 cents to play.

Garnet dug around in her pocket, grabbed 25 cents and put it in the machine.

The game started up, Garnet grabbed the meat sticks and started playing.

Within moments, Garnet was in rhythm and was going hard at it while Pearl explored to find a game to play herself.

Pearl found a claw machine, she knew these things were hard and often dropped what they picked up, but she decided to give it a try.

She deposited some money into the machine and started playing, failing a few times but managing to get only 1 stuffed toy out in her first few attempts.

After that Pearl looked for another game to play, she didn't intend to waste all her money on a claw machine that was so difficult.

Pearl looked around and found another game, one called "Terminal 7", a game where you navigated a horrific city full of disturbing enemies while attempting to get home, picking up hints of what was going on along the way.

It was only 25 cents to play and Pearl rather enjoyed it; the environments, the metaphorical and literal nature of the monsters that attacked; it reminded her of stuff she had played before; stuff that taught her a lot about how humans feel and suffer.

Pearl and Garnet spent the whole day in the arcade, by the time they were done it was very late, around 21:43pm (9:43pm).

Pearl Took Garnet home that night, wheeling her back as Garnet had become tired from playing that game for so long and so intensely, leaving her with no energy to actually wheel herself back.

[back with the driving man]

the man in the car pulled up just outside beach city at around 21:55pm (9:55pm) and observed his surroundings, he looked at all the houses and judged which would be the best to go for first.

But then he spotted a house at the very end, alone with a ramp outside.

It was the perfect target.

The man in the car started up the engine and slowly drove towards the house at the very end.

The man parked the car silently just around the edge of the large cliff and got out.

He then started walking slowly towards the house, keeping an eye out as the sun finally set and darkness obscured any way of knowing that he was there.

At this point, Pearl and Garnet were in the house, Pearl was in the kitchen making herself something to eat and Garnet had gone to bed because she was tired.

At this point the man stood outside and beyond the stairs as darkness hid him perfectly; he looked into the window and saw only 1 Person in the house, Pearl.

A lone victim, perfect.

The man carefully made his way up the stairs, making no noise as he expertly ascended them with stealth that was perfect.

The man approached the door, stood right outside and could tell that it had been accidentally left unlocked.

The man took a moment to prepare himself before doing this.

Then.

*bang*

the man kicked the door open and rushed towards Pearl with his axe ready, the attack catching her off guard.

With a single swing, she was knocked to the floor but still alive and dazed by the attack.

The man then swing the axe again, this time landing a hit directly into her back, cutting into her spine and paralysing her lower body instantly.

Pearl screamed in pain alerting garnet in the other room.

garnet carefully opened the door of her room just a bit to see what had happened thing that pearl had accidentally cut herself but to her horror she saw a masked man deliver the killing blow.

The man swung the axe down and directly into Pearls forehead, shattering her gem and killing her instantly.

Seeing this, Garnet was frozen with fear her PTSD from seeing her friends die and that wendigo attack stopped her from doing anything, she felt genuine fear in that moment.

Not even the hand abomination and monsters in the kindergarten scared her this much, this was a deep and primal fear.

The man lifted the axe up as Pearls body faded away and he was seemingly confused by this.

But it was one less body to dispose of so he didn't care despite how it confused him.

The man looked around as everything was silent, not a single sound.

Garnet stayed hidden as fear filled her, she didn't want to die, she was scared and had no way to defend herself.

The man banged his axe into a wall to try and see if anyone else would come out, but nothing happened.

After what felt like an eternity, the man walked back out the way he came in, disappearing into the darkness like a ghost.

After that, the man got back into his car and drove off.

hearing this, Garnet knew it was safe to come out and immediately called the police.

The police arrived, took her statement, checked for fingerprints, etc.

But to keep the crime scene intact, they had to move her to a temporary room in a hotel nearby so that they could investigate and find the killer.
Part 3. Wings of Freedom
Garnet was put in a nearby hotel, it was cheap and paid for by the police for the next 2 weeks while they attempted to catch the killer who broke in.

For weeks they searched for the killer but found nothing.

For weeks Garnet suffered alone.

She had nobody left.

Pearl was dead.

Steven was dead.

Amethyst was dead.

Peridot had gone mad.

Lapiz was nowhere to be found, all attempts to contact her failed.

Connie and her mother were too busy and garnet didn't want to weigh them down with her problems.

Greg was dead.

Garnet had nobody.

Garnet spent so long alone that she started to hallucinate the voices of those she had lost, her friends calling her, Steven's laughter, Greg's heavy footsteps and Pearls final scream as she was murdered, etc.

She missed them but now she had nobody, nothing to live for.

She hated herself, often thinking "why didn't I do something?", "I wish he killed me too".

She wanted to escape the pain, to fly away and leave it all behind, to be set free and fly away.

After 2 weeks had passed, Garnet was allowed to finale go home as the crime scene had been cleaned up but the killer had not been caught.

Upon returning home, Garnets mind was a mess, the horrific scene of Pearls death playing over and over in her head, her scream filling her mind, repeating over and over.

That night, Garnet decided that she had enough, it was time to end this.

Garnet wheeled herself over to the cliff and slowly wheeled herself up to the top, taking some bird seed with her, she had no wings but she planned to get some.

Once Garnet reached the top, she used the seed to lure in a seagull, caught it, tore off its wings and tossed the body away, she had what she needed.

Garnet held one wing in each hand as she looked off into the distance, she prepared herself to take the leap.

She prepared to finale fly away.

She closed her eyes and with all her strength, threw herself out of her wheelchair and off the cliff.

Garnet felt herself falling, the wind in her hair, she felt free.

But after a while of falling, she realised that something was off.

She had been falling for a while.

So Garnet opened her eyes and was amazed to see that she was actually somehow flying.

That is when Garnet noticed that she had wings on her back and a halo over her head.

Garnet then looked around and saw not only her own dead body laying on the floor under the cliff but her dead friends waiting outside the house for her.

Seeing this, Garnet turned herself and flew towards them, landing and then running towards them.

Garnet embraced her friends who she was happy to see again.

She had found her peace.

But then...

Something felt... wrong...

Garnet then noticed that her friends were starting to melt, the flesh falling off their bodies.

And that she and everything else was melting too.

Suddenly, Garnet woke up in agony on the cliff floor, she was still alive and had hallucinated being able to fly and seeing her dead friends.

In that moment, Garnet screamed in dread, sadness and agony, her freedom had been robbed from her in her dying moments, she was doomed to suffer..

Doomed to die alone, suffering.

The last thing Garnet did was scream, it was all she could do as reality faded away and she finally died.

She was finally at peace, no more pain, just eternal silence.

Garnet was gone.

The killer was never caught.

Who he was is unknown.
