Carriers, Battleships, Cruisers & LCS >> Bombs
Airships >> MLAAs (or ASMs if you're patient to wait the reload)
Fighters >> SAAs
Cluttered Groud Targets >> MLAGs
Long Read:
In my personal experience, I'd advise against MLAAs in almost any mission. Instead, I recommend SAAs and a Boom and Zoom playstyle.
Let me explain this reason; SAAs are more manouverable than MLAAs and for that, more effective in general. In personal experience SAAs hit 9/10 times, with MLAAs hitting 1/2 times on planes; the exception here are Airships, whose modules I take down with MLAAs due to the immobile traget, which increases performance drastically.
I agree using MLAGs as Stand-off weapons for ground-target heavy missions, but I have found that any bombs work really good against target concentrations, such as carriers, cruisers, LCS and Land Battleships, who usually can be knocked out by killing the modules via bombs, and then finished by two or four standard missiles.
I personally did not test the "reset game progression." I did delete and replace my save file manually.
And yes, your backup will function perfectly once you swap it back.
Try the steps of the previous conversation, devs still haven't patched the issue.
This may also may mean you need to replay the game again. Or get a save file from... Somewhere.
Thank you Falcon, I'm sending a big hug to you man.
