The Gallery II

Omschrijving
A set of utility maps that allow you to play around with your character and look at your outfits. To use it, start a new game and choose The Gallery. There are no differences between Softcore and Hardcore.

The main feature is a doll room, where you can look at an animated player model of your outfit. You have a number of settings to change in the room, such as scene lighting and whether the model is spinning on a turntable. There is also a spectator mode where you can fly around the model more freely while changing outfits and animations, or use a green screen (which works best with ambient occlusion disabled). You can interact with the doll to change the animation, or just by pressing the interact button anywhere while in spectator mode. Leaving spectator mode can be done by clicking or jumping.

There are extra features available in other rooms as well:

- Mirror room, for viewing yourself up close with a large mirror
- Music room, for playing a selection of tunes from the game
- Athletics room, for exploring the climbing and swimming mechanics
- Shooting range, for experimenting with the four weapons and their upgrades

Edith features:
- Includes .edith files for each room under Maps\The Gallery for people who want to take a look at how I made this mod
- Using The Gallery as a game class when starting a level from Edith functions essentially the same way as the Debug option

If you try it out, feel free to let me know if you enjoyed the mod.

Sorry, I haven't touched it yet. My current real life situation means I don't have enough time to address this. I'm fairly certain I know how to fix it; I could just put a bunch of healing items in that room and remove the "healing" mechanism. However, going through the map files, saving things properly, and all the logistics of modding are kind of confusing for me. Since it's been just over a year since I last touched this thing, I'm afraid of breaking something and not having time to unbreak it. Wouldn't want to disrupt the, uh... 18,000+ current subscribers. Sheesh.

As such, I'm not sure when I'll have time to address that. Maybe in a few weeks? I suppose you'll have to temporarily uninstall the voice mod if you want to wander into that room. Or mute the audio. I understand that it's quite inconvenient, so I'll try to keep this on my list of things to do once I have time. Maybe I'll try to think of something new or interesting to add while I'm in there.

Oh, that's unfortunate. I think I know why that is, though.
Basically, in that room, because you can drown or hurt yourself from falling, I figured it would be helpful to include an auto-healing mechanism that makes it so that you can freely test how much damage you take. But the way I did it (I think, it's been a while) was to input negative damage into the built-in hurt function for the player.
Now, you may think that this is incredibly stupid (it is), but with the way it was written, it properly accounted for negative values to heal, it wasn't like, broken. But anyway. You constantly take negative damage while you're in the room. My guess is that the hurt function triggers the hurt sound without checking whether it's healing or not, which is unfortunate, but understandable.

So basically, sorry about that, that's my fault. I didn't notice since I made this before voices were available.

Dunno why, but if you subscribe to any voice mod and go to the pool, the voice is echoed everywhere without the presence of yourself making a noise. It just spams the hurt sound everywhere in the pool.

In the doll room would it be possible to load in a different skin/mod from the one currently being worn by the player, to be posed on the turntable?

Great add on for Haydee 2. In the room where you pose Haydee or the Slasher bot and change the lighting, could you add the pose where Haydee bends over and spreads her leg while standing?

Fov and rotate camera settings in future perhaps?

The patch news mentions changes to Haydee's anim graph, scripts, skeleton, and the player template, which is a lot of vital stuff relating to the player. I haven't gone around and checked other mods, but it's possible that many of them include their own versions of the player template, or some other related files, which overwrite the newer ones with swimming functionality.

This mod doesn't change the player template; in technical terms, it uses a dynamic spawn to create the default player template when the game starts. As a result, if another mod is installed that overwrites the player template, then it would affect the pawn's behavior when using the gallery.

More simply put, I didn't touch the player files, but other mods might have, which would explain why having other mods installed could prevent swimming from working.

UPDATE. Ok, this is weird but it seems that all other mods will conflicts with the new swimming animations so they won't work. So my best guess is it may be something to do with the patch itself. For the time being, as far as I know, you'll have to play the game in it's vanilla form (The Gallery won't conflict with this) if you want the new swimming animations to work.

According to me, the new swimming animations do work. I just had to uninstall all other mod I had active. So the issues may be linked to any mods that modify core animations and/or add climbing and dodge animations. But I'm not 100% sure. I'll continue my analysis as I'm trying to figure this out myself as well.
