What is Cyberpunk
By FARK0N桜 💜
1. Cyberpunk 2077 is an upcoming action role-playing video game developed and published by CD Projekt. It is scheduled to be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One on 10 December 2020, and for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2021. The story takes place in Night City, an open world set in the Cyberpunk universe. Players assume the first-person perspective of a customisable mercenary known as V, who can acquire skills in hacking and machinery with options for melee and ranged combat. Cyberpunk 2077 was developed using the REDengine 4 by a team of around 500, exceeding the number that worked on the studio's previous game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (2015). CD Projekt launched a new division in Wrocław, Poland, and partnered with Digital Scapes, Nvidia, QLOC, and Jali Research to aid the production. Cyberpunk creator Mike Pondsmith was a consultant, and actor Keanu Reeves has a starring role. The original score was led by Marcin Przybyłowicz, featuring the contributions of several licensed artists.

2. Gameplay - Cyberpunk 2077 is played in a first-person perspective as V, a mercenary whose voice, face, hairstyles, body type and modifications, background, and clothing are customisable. Stat categories—Body, Intelligence, Reflexes, Technical, and Cool—are influenced by the character classes that players assume, which are NetRunner (hacking), Techie (machinery), and Solo (combat). V must consult a "ripperdoc" to upgrade and purchase cyberware implants; black markets offer military-grade abilities. The rarity of any given equipment is shown by a coloured tier system. V can take cover, aim, run, jump, double jump, and slide. Melee strikes can be dealt with close-combat weapons. There are three types of ranged weapons, all of which can be customised and modified—Power (standard), Tech (which penetrate walls and enemies), and Smart (with homing bullets). Ranged weapons are equipped to ricochet bullets in a target's direction and slow them down in bullet time. Four types of damage can be inflicted and resisted—Physical, Thermal, EMP, and Chemical. Weapon use increases accuracy and reloading speed, which are manifested in character animations. Gunsmiths repair and upgrade weapons. The game can be completed without killing anyone, with non-lethal options for weapons and cyberware. The open world metropolis Night City, California, consists of six regions—the corporate City Center, immigrant-inhabited Watson, luxurious Westbrook, suburban Heywood, gang-infested Pacifica, and industrial Santo Domingo. Its surrounding area, the Badlands, can also be explored. V navigates these locations on foot and in vehicles, which are subject to either a first or third-person view. Pedestrians are vulnerable to vehicular collisions. Depending on the location, law enforcement may be alerted if V commits a crime. Radio stations are available to listen to. The full day-night cycle and dynamic weather affect the way non-player characters (NPCs) behave. V owns an apartment and a garage. Night City features non-English-speaking characters, whose languages can be translated with special implants. "Braindance" is a device that allows V to undergo other people's experiences. Branching dialogues enable interaction with NPCs and actions in quests. Experience points are obtained from main quests and fuel the stats; side quests yield "street cred", unlocking skills, vendors, places, and additional quests. Quests are acquired from characters known as Fixers. Throughout the game, V is aided by various companions. Consumables, like soft drinks, are used for healing, and objects can be inspected in V's inventory. Minigames include hacking, boxing, auto racing, martial arts, and shooting ranges. Player choice leads to different endings.

Cyberpunk 2077: Secret website
During Microsoft's E3 2018 presentation slot on June 10th, a "hacker" interrupted the speaker, ultimately revealing a trailer for Cyberpunk 2077. Players immediately noticed some valuable info during the trailer, including GOG codes which were redeemable for games and, most notably, an IP address, 212.91.11.20

Players quickly realized that the IP resolved to a section of CDPR's Cyberpunk 2077 website, where a password prompt was found along with a welcome message. The message read as follows:
WELCOME TO QUADRA - THE HIGH-PERFORMANCE AUTOMOTIVE SOLUTIONS
WITH A SOUL. PLEASE ENTER YOUR QUADRA VIP USER CREDENTIALS.
The login field is force-filled to QUADRA V-TECH, which players connected to a license plate number from the trailer, NC20 CP77, which turned out to be the correct password. Only a very small pool of players were allowed through, and were met with a field to enter their email address. Soon after, the site began to display a message indicating a quota had been reached and that no more emails would be collected.
Cyberpunk 2020
Cyberpunk 2.0.2.0., later subtitled, The Classic Roleplaying Game of the Dark Future, is the second edition of the popular pen and paper RPG series Cyberpunk. The Game was designed by Mike Pondsmith and was an updated version of the original Cyberpunk 2013 rule set.

The Second edition was titled 2020 to reflect the updated setting of the year 2020. The Second edition was originally produced as a box set that included the rulebook and a supplementary screamsheet booklet, featuring information and several mini adventures.

Cyberpunk 2020 spawned numerous Sourcebooks and Adventurebooks and was followed up with the Firestorm series that moved the timeline to the year 2022 and the beginnings of the Fourth Corporate War.
In 2005 the series was followed up by an official sequel, Cyberpunk Version 3.0. In 2013 it was announced that an official video game sequel would be made by Polish developer, CD Projekt Red as well as an official fourth edition of the pen and paper RPG titled Cyberpunk RED.

Mike Pondsmith moved Cyberpunk into the 2020s for the second edition, with this updated setting came new world events, technology and characters as well as greatly expanding the existing world. The setting of Night City became a real world rather than the ambiguous near future city of Cyberpunk 2013 and many of the Corporations received fully fleshed out histories, and names for high level members. The Cyberpunk 2020 rulebook included almost everything from the first edition from the character roles to the Never Fade Away adventure with Johnny Silverhand. After the widespread publication of the book, the first edition, Cyberpunk 2013 became obsolete and Cyberpunk 2020 took its place as the primary way to play the game.
V (Character)
V is the player controlled protagonist of the video game Cyberpunk 2077. V's gender, appearance, skills and history are all customizable and have an impact on the story.
Birth Record and Background: This part of Cyberpunk 2077 is a deep character customization system. The process starts with the player either selecting a preset character or creating a custom character. When creating a custom character, the player can select a gender and customize their character; customization can include depictions of breasts, buttocks and genitalia, as well as various sizes and combinations of genitals. Options also include picking between a male or female sounding voice, while also adjusting the pitch.

Lifepath History: The player then selects V's Lifepath history, by choosing Nomad, Street Kid, or Corporate.

Each lifepath will start in a different starting location in Night City and V will be in a different place in life overall. V will have a different introductory questline, and equipment which will be connected to your specific origin story and will be introduced to the characters differently. Lifepaths will stretch the entirety of the game, and not only will it open up different dialogue options like previously stated, but you will also unlock specific side quests based off your Lifepath.
Nomad: "Roaming the Badlands, looting scrapyards, raiding fuel depots – life on the road wasn't easy, But growing up in a nomad clan has its perks. Honesty, integrity and a love of freedom – qualities that few in Night City possess and no amount of money can buy."
V starts outside of Night City, in the Badlands. They stop in a small town to get work done to their vehicle by a mechanic named Mike. V is leaving the Nomad family, and going to Night City to start over. V needs to meet their contact before heading into the city - this ends up being Jackie Welles, who will help smuggle the contraband and V into the city. They get caught up at the border and are stopped by Arasaka border patrol that informs them that the contraband they are smuggling is corporate property. V and Jackie end up in a high speed chase into a Biotechnica protein farm.
Street Kid: "They say if you wanna understand the streets, you gotta live 'em. Gangs, fixers, dolls, small-time pushers – you were raised by them all. Down here the law of the jungle dictates the weak serve the strong – the only law in Night City you have yet to break."
V starts out in El Coyote Cojo, Heywood, with a broken nose they need to get fixed. V tries helping out a bartender named Pepe by trying to help with the debt they owe to a new Fixer in town, Kirk Sawyer. Kirk tasks V with stealing a Rayfield Aerondight S9 from a corpo agent. V meets up with Padre, who ends up giving V a ride to the location. V tries using the device given to them, but before they can leave, they are stopped by Jackie Welles, who is also attempting to steal the car. They are captured by the NCPD, who are ordered by Kaoru Fujioka to dispose of them.
Corporate: "Few leave the corporate world with their lives – fewer still with their souls intact. You've been there – you've bent the rules, exploited secrets and weaponized information. There's no such thing as fair game. Only winners and losers."
V starts out as an Arasaka counterintelligence operative agent in the Arasaka Tower, Corpo Plaza. V is stressed about the job, but still goes to see their boss Arthur Jenkins about dealing with the ESA in Frankfurt. Jenkins ends the meeting by flatlining the representatives. He gets a call from his boss Susan Abernathy, who is dissatisfied with how he handled the situation and threatens to fire him. Jenkins, already fed up with her backstabbing him before, tasks V with killing her in a way that can't be traced back to them. V takes an AV on their way to Lizzie's Bar to meet with their contact. It is here that V meets up with long time friend Jackie Welles, and they sit down to discuss business. V is cornered by other Arasaka agents and is stripped of their corporate status.
After the intro questlines are completed, they then lead into a compilation cutscene of Jackie and V sticking together for a while doing jobs before it reaches the starting point of the game. At this point, the game follows a similar narrative path.
