How to Fix the Kalypso Launcher Issue and Bugs

There are some Bugs that can happen with the Kalypso Launcher that prevent you from playing the Game.

The Launcher is often buggy, sometimes it says the key is already in use (if you buyed the game recently) or you simple cant create an Account.

Here is a Method to fix this and some other bugs. It works with a Windows-File thats called hosts.
With the File you can block IP-Adresses and Websites.
We will block the Website that the Kalyspo Launcher connects to, so we can bypass the Launcher.

First you go to your Windows-Folder in the following path:
(Yours should be similar, just go to your Local Drive, also im German, so the Path is in German Language)

The file you need is the marked hosts.

2. Step

Now open the hosts File with an Text-Editor of your choice. (Simple Rightclick and choose open with)

It Now will look like this:
(It can be different, ive you have already blocked other Ip-Adresses)

3. Step

Now just copy and Paste the following line into your hosts File:

127.0.0.1 launcher01.kalypsomedia.com

Then Save the File. When you cant Save the File directly, just save it on your Desktop and Drag and Drop the File in the folder. Then just replace the old File. Remember to save it with just the name and not as .txt-File. You can rename the file with a right click and then delete the .txt Extension to convert it to a normal file. Its hidden on default, you can find Tutorials how to Enable it on Google.

You Now should be able to start the game without the Launcher and it will work without that you have to login.

(only thing I would suggest, use an illegal IP address such as 0.0.0.0 rather than the local IP 127.0.0.1)

thanks! i didnt have a problem with the launcher but this seems to have eliminated the constant stuttering i was having, and bypassing the launcher is nice too.

@War IV Just save it as txt file first. Then right click it an choose rename. Then just delete the .txt Extension from it. It will then ask ive you really want to do that, just click yes and then overwrite the host file in the folder per drag and drop :). Ive you dont see the file-extension txt you must enable it. Just follow this Guide for that: https://fileinfo.com/help/windows_10_show_file_extensions

Hey mate thanks for the guide i am having trouble though because it saves the file as a TXT file while the original is listed as just a file, will overwriting it with the TXT format still work or do i have to convert the TXT file back to a generic file somehow?
