Manual to Force the Scarlet Mistress to Submission Consistently
By Snakie
MAJOR SPOILER FOR THE STORY. Since the newest fight of the patch 1.0.3.4 (2nd line after Gear) might give some people trouble farming the new page due to how absurd the fight could be. Here is a guide on tackling the Scarlet Mistress without losing all of your blood and not satisfying her need. Let's make Gebura proud of us again!

Swift Introduction
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Just finished updating my Tiph realization guide, will try my best to update this within a week since PM probably won't make any more major change to the game (hopefully). Sorry if some of the information are outdated, but overall, it should work still

Hi there! This is going to be a quick guide on how to beat the Scarlet Mistress AKA Red Mist AKA Kali. Some of you might struggle on this fight due to how it is presented (and I know quite a bit of people that couldn't monke this fight), so here is a guide to make the farming for that Red Mist page a lot more bearable.

Yes, I made the title and description as vague as possible to not spoil the fun.
Deck Builds
Recommended Pages
  • Yujin
  • Esther + Hubert
  • Meow
  • Tamaki + Stephan + Li Wei
  • Bada + Martina + Nemo
  • Literally any Thumb gun page

First Responder
These decks are best to build momentum and retain them throughout the fight. It will help getting into Kali's phase 2 easier than not. In all honesty, if you think you have better deck than this, I will not stop you from using it. DoT damage are going to be helpful here, but winning clashes and sustainability is priority.

Passive: Valerie's Mind Hauler, Katriel's Empowering First Shot, Sayo's Dark Cloud Blade & Razor Strike

Nothing much here outside of "just use passive that makes her stronger." I'm glad we are able to use Binah, who is going to be the MVP for this fight. Pillar will be useful to counter Vertical Slash, and Shockwave is the saving grace against Horizontal Slash. Just don't let her die.

Deck: 2x To Overcome Crisis, 1x Unlock, 1x Struggle, 2x Sturdy Defense, 3x Fervid Emotion (Or Boundary of Death if you want to experience Nirvana)

Passive: Cecil's Firm as a Great Mountain + Fervor

Good ol' Infinite 4 Yujin. If you have seen my previous guide, you are probably familiar with this deck already. To summarize this deck,i t's draw first then use Overcome/Unlock III and Fervid Emotion at the same turn for a grand total of 0 cost. Another variation to this is to use Mei's passive instead of Fervor.

Deck: Singleton with Struggle/Scattering Slash

Passive: Grace of the Prescript, Skim Prescript, Unstable Charge

Strong, meaty Singletons will be able to let you win clash sometimes even in her EGO form. It's still a pain to fight her nonetheless, but Somber Proclamation will probably save you a lot more than you'd think. To make this even more streamlined, take away all the blunt and add more defensive cards. Scattering Slash and Struggle are there as a panic button and your "Prayer to RNGesus" to not make you die/stagger from Horizontal Slash.

Suicide Squad
Fun starts with Gun! This is your Second Responder that will die to Kali. Chip her health off as much as possible on the first scene with one-sided dogpile first turn damage boost. This deck could theoretically deal ~175 damage consistently on the first turn alone. Headshot/Bullseye are there to attempt to destroy the counter dice. Mix variation 1 & 2 for the best result, and use any of the Thumb pages. You can use this set on any floor, but I recommend Netzach, Malkuth, or Tiphereth.

Passive: Snipe, Blind Fire, Concentration, Meow Meow

Variation 1
Deck: 2x To Overcome Crisis, 1x Frontal Assault, 3x Indiscriminate Shots, 1x Headshot, 1x Bayonet Combat, 4x Fervid Emotions

Variation 2
Deck: Any bullet combat pages with some Headshot/Bullseye, but I recommend less blunt that as shown here

Cleanup Squad
Just use your most damaging non-blunt deck or gun here on Keter lmao

The Legend of Choke Slamming the Masochistic Kali to Submission
Phase 1: Foreplay
Mission Objective: Lower her health down to 350HP
Optional Objective: Lower her health as much as possible
Recommended Floor Cycle: Binah -> Gun -> Keter

Easier said than done. With Binah's help, this should be plausible to say the least. Bringing a high dice + resource sustainable deck is a must for this phase, since the more you could chip her down, the easier the next phases will be. Clash when it will benefit you, one-side the rest. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE KILLED THAT COUNTER DICE FIRST. Binah's Chain and Lock should be able to help with that. Also, Pillar could be used to kill off Vertical Strike and Charge. Range clash counts as recycle (Thank you Cinder for being a big brained individual). Eternally Lit Lamp on Binah is going to save so many of your Librarian with Pillar. Don't worry if some of your nugget dies, as long as you can lower her health down to 350 or lower.

Before you reach the 350 HP threshold, which I sadly have to say you have to "Eyeball it", make sure you use Lock beforehand to drain her resources, and try to stack up Protection as much as possible for the next turn. When she transforms, use Shockwave and any "Combat Start: Gain X Protection" cards. Accept that you will lose that Mass Attack, and some of your nugget will stagger. All you need to do now is to apply as much damage as possible to her before going down.
Phase 2: Choke Slamming and Cleanup
Nothing much to say about this phase but to use gun pages with all first turn bonuses to do one-sided attack. If you lower her health down to around 300, this should be doable still. Time is not on your side. Just dump every single thing you have on her, no matter the survival rate. The more damage you can deal, the easier the next floor will be, or you might not even need another floor. DoT damage like Burn and Bleed could be substituted here, but gun should do the work. Make sure to ignore the Mass Attack and to prioritize destroying the counter dice.

Please use at least 15% of your brain power during this phase. It's your redemption arc here, and you don't want all those effort goes for naught.

Ignore the Mass Attack like these

And dump your everyone on her
Parting Words and Self-Plug in
Good luck fighting her! At max, you need to do this fight two times to get her page, three if you want to fight the next fight. If you have any question or comment, leave them below and I'll try to respond as fast as possible. Until then!

would like to note you can start off with gen. works smoke floor to get a lot of their health off, Loss Of Senses and Deep Drag are great for the fight

Can guarantee that you can win the fight with must worse card than this guide but the same method.
Thou I don't recommend Yujin. Kali could target her broken dice and make your run significantly harder. (but sure, you can ignore it if you have a better setup than me)

The second phase is just to rush her down.
If you don't have strong enough cost 3 cards. Just go with 5 of cost 3 cards, 4 of cost 0 cards.
Add full-stop office/burn/bleed passive to your pages for more damage.
My favorite page to use is the crying children. Resist slash and bring big DOT with build-in burn passive.

So, I was curious.

Ignoring strength buffs from outside sources (and there are probably other ways to do it), if you have a Yan with a negative abnormality page, Fervor, and Grace of the Prescript rolling Pierce, Overcharge will have enough power that it's max roll will outroll her max roll Horizontal Slash.

Outside of that, Rapid Gashes is the best chance of outrolling now.

Did it with 3 Cane corp defenders and solo Gebura:
(energy shield, guarding stance + opportunity/ready up!)

Gebura with temna keypage and carnival passive with 3x of each: point strike, steel knuckls and burning flash

Simply use mountain of corpses on gebura and win and have Binah as a backup

Not everyone has the brain power to do so

or you can solo it with roland
