Your rescue subject was having a bad day before you arrived. If you neglect your own safety, you will have an equally bad day but theirs won't improve. Accepting personal risk to save someone else should always be a conscious decision, not a careless mistake.
Tunnel vision is the enemy of scene safety for you, your team, and your rescue subjects. If you are too focused on the patient with the head wound, you may not realize they got that wound from falling after being shot by THE OTHER GUY BEHIND YOU. If you rush to open the car door to extricate the injured driver, you may die because you didn't see that the car is resting on the pad-mounted electrical transformer it struck during the accident.
Tunnel vision is such an easy mental trap that it's not uncommon for a team member to assume scene safety as their sole responsibility (depending on the situation and local SOPs).
The game is lacking on many levels sadly. As the Basics (and also Graphics) are really full of potential.
Just so many options.
- Roof fire, Tell a AI to use the tower (if on scene)
- BE a commander on scene . . . so use the other trucks 4 people too??
(This especially on Industrial Fires // but also some residential fires)
- Adapt Widescreen Monitors (been mentioned so often and we are in 2021)
- Freeplay mode - Do an inspection - Get a call . . . (Not through the menu)
Use 2-3 Missions as Probationary and Tutorial. Then you drive around, to an Inspection, Get a call in, make your way to the scene. . . Mabe also get ride of the Flying Trucks on scene (once just as I arrived, took the wrong spot to park almost)
So much potential, and this guide shows a lot how it should work too!!
