How to get the in-game map

Just a small token to get an in game world map. Its not detailed as to exactly where everything is. There is a community created hand drawn map for that floating around and it is GREAT. This little guide is just here to give everyone something they may not have in game.

I have been surfing the forums and it came to my attention that i have not run across a guide for an in game map, not that it does not exists i just have not found it, in the guides section at least. So im creating this one.

This is what the map looks like
West Portal


This portal is located west of your first shop along the road that leads to the bigger shop. There are trees by the road that you can chop to get the wood. dont forget to bring a crate

Green portal
Once you enter the portal that takes you to the large tree with all the other portals (Nexus) you will be looking for the Green one (if you have unlocked it)

once you enter this portal you will come out by the stables in northhelm and this is where you need to be
Once in the town, where to find the villager
Once you enter the town from the portal by going through the door, keep going straight until you see the building that has the blue flags, she is on the northeast corner of that building


The villager
This is what the villager looks like, notice the fire wood stand behind her and my box. use the fire wood that you gathered by the portal near your shop to fill her firewood stand( an audible chime is heard each time you put one in the stand) it takes 7 firewood to fill it.

Once filled, all of the wood will disappear and you will be rewarded



So, her name is Nadine

you can do this 2x to get the current full map. This allows you to see the (fog of war) section that has not been implemented yet as well as the floating castle in the top right corner. I will assume that in the future you can complete this task multiple times to uncover the entire map once the world is complete.

my map broke after reloading the game. the upgraded part is no longer there and Nadine wont give me another one. has this happened to anyone else?

Not sure i have not played this in a while as ive moved on to other games, if you have not changed your setting as described below via the betas section of the properties tab by right clicking the game in your library this may be the cause.

are you using the latest version, if not you can change it in the Betas section of the properties tab of the game in your library. I had many issues with this game until i changed over to the ex-branch of the game. so before you get too too far id do that because your current save may or may not be compatible.
