Introduction

2023 - IMPORTANT NOTE: This guide was written and published shortly after FUSER's release in 2020. Since then, the game has received numerous changes and overhauls to core systems such as XP distribution, so portions of this guide may no longer be accurate.

In addition to this, the game has been pulled from sale, and online services have been discontinued. As a result, it is likely that several achievements in this game are now unobtainable.

-----------------------------------------------------

Welcome to FUSER.

In this guide, I will cover how to earn all of the achievements for the game in the most efficient way possible. The achievements are mostly self-explanatory - however, if this guide has not explained something thoroughly for a particular achievement and you are stuck, please leave a comment on this guide and I will do my best to help.

As an estimate, this game will take around 50 hours of playtime to complete, but not all of this has to be comprised of 'active' play (more information in the 'Weekly Events' and 'Reaching Level 50' sections).

However, this game will take a minimum of eight weeks to complete, due to participation being required in eight separate Weekly Events for one particular achievement. There is no way to speed this up. More information on this can be found in the 'Weekly Events' section.

Lastly, while this guide is indeed aimed at helping you be efficient, I highly recommend playing through the game and enjoying the experience first before worrying about achievements. Play through the campaign, create some absolutely cursed mixes in Freestyle, and enjoy the wonderful and unique experience Harmonix have created - There's no rush.

Once you're ready, read on.

Full of Surprises
Complete Starglacier.

Complete all sets within the sixth and final venue of the campaign. Story-based and cannot be missed.

For these achievements, you simply need to progress through the sets without failing out - You will fail a set if your crowd meter on the right is depleted to zero. The first few sets have no crowd meter and cannot be failed. When introducing the crowd meter for the first time, the game will give you a full-screen popup explaining what it is and how it works.

Fulfil as many of the objectives on the right and crowd requests as you can. If you are not aiming for a five-star run, simply staying afloat is very easy and does not require a great deal of attention.

More information on how to keep this meter topped up will be explained in the 'Five Star Scores' section below.
Five Star Scores
Crushed It
Earn five stars on a Campaign set.

This will unlock on the completion of your first five star run. For more information on five star strategy, refer to the Best In The World achievement for more info.

Bound for Greatness
Earn five stars on 50% of the Campaign sets.

This will unlock on the completion of your 19th five star run. For more information on five star strategy, refer to the Best In The World achievement for more info.

Best in the World
Earn five stars on every Campaign set.

There are 38 sets in the campaign - This will unlock immediately once you have earned five stars on your final set.

On a basic level, the strategy to earning high scores and five star runs is as follows:
  • Ensure your Crowd Meter is full every time your timer lapses for the full 1600 point bonus
  • Complete all objectives below your Crowd Meter before the timer lapses
  • Fulfil every crowd request, and where possible, always aim to COMBO the requests

The most efficient way to keep your Crowd Meter full is to constantly be changing your mix on the downbeat. I found the most success when every bar (or every four beats), I would change one of the four discs. A 'good' or 'perfect' bonus will boost your Crowd Meter. If you go too long without changing anything in your mix, the Crowd Meter will begin to drop.

Dropping discs, ejecting discs, applying effects, muting or soloing discs etc. will all boost your Crowd Meter, as long as it is done on the beat.

Unfortunately, this generally works against making your mix actually sound good, as you'll be changing things so often that the mix never has much room to breathe. Remember, Campaign is only for learning how to use all of the tools within the game, and earning five-star ratings for the sets. There is plenty of time to use this knowledge to make great sounding mixes in other areas of the game.

The crowd will periodically make requests related to what you have included in your Crate. They may ask for a certain song, genre, decade, or instrument. These requests will timeout if not fulfilled and are very important to your score, so you should aim to fulfil them as soon as you can.

Often, two requests will be made simultaneously, and it is almost always possible to answer both requests with one disc - This is known as a COMBO. More information on COMBO requests can be found below for the Double Down achievement.

Some sets toward the end of the game are particularly tricky as you are given very little time to raise your Crowd Meter before the first 'check'. Your first priority at the beginning of a set is to raise this as high as you can for the maximum point bonus.
It is not always possible to earn the full 1600 points for your first set of objectives, but you should aim to get this as high as you can without sacrificing any objectives. Once the meter is full, it is easy enough to maintain.
Miscellaneous:
Gameplay Actions
Double Down
Fulfil 20 request combos in Campaign.

Outside of the story progression and five-star achievements, this is the only other achievement specific to Campaign and is a crucial part of five-star strategy.

Below, we can see an instance where two requests have been made simultaneously. One request is for the track Bust A Move, and one request is for a guitar disc.

Therefore, if we drop the bass guitar disc from Bust A Move, this will fulfill both requests at once, which will provide a COMBO score bonus.

Earn this bonus 20 times during Campaign sets for this achievement. You are likely to earn this naturally while doing five-star runs.

Irrational Exuberance
Perform on an instrument for 32 consecutive bars.

Once you have unlocked instruments, open any of them during a set and hold Mouse1 on one of the buttons. Do not let go until it has played for 32 bars (the entire length of the timeline toward the bottom of the screen).

Synergize!
Calibrate your system for the optimal experience.

Calibration options can be found in Settings - Run through the Calibration to earn this achievement.
I highly recommend this be the very first thing you do when you boot up FUSER for the first time.

All in the Timing
Play 100 discs perfectly on downbeat.

When dropping discs, when done correctly you will earn a Perfect bonus. Do this 100 times and this achievement will unlock. A Good bonus will not count.

Less Can Be More
Eject 100 discs perfectly on downbeat.

When ejecting discs, when done correctly you will earn a Perfect bonus. Do this 100 times and this achievement will unlock. A Good bonus will not count.

Moving the Needle
Swap 100 discs perfectly on downbeat.

When swapping cued discs, when done correctly you will earn a Perfect bonus. Do this 100 times and this achievement will unlock. A Good bonus will not count.

Pick Yourself Up and Try Again
Play 100 discs perfectly on pickup.

When dropping discs in time with a Pickup marker, when done correctly you will earn a Perfect bonus. Do this 100 times and this achievement will unlock. A Good bonus will not count.

Chocolate and Peanut Butter
Swap 100 discs perfectly on pickup.

When swapping cued discs in time with a Pickup marker, when done correctly you will earn a Perfect bonus. Do this 100 times and this achievement will unlock. A Good bonus will not count.

Grab That Spotlight
Solo 100 discs, each for exactly one bar.

Solo a disc, then unsolo after one bar (four beats). You must earn a Good or Perfect bonus on either side for this to count.

Take it Down a Notch
Mute 100 discs, each for exactly one bar.

Mute a disc, then unmute after one bar (four beats). You must earn a Good or Perfect bonus on either side for this to count.

Go Dreamy
Apply audio effects to 100 discs, each for exactly one bar.

Once you have unlocked audio effects, apply one to any disc by holding Mouse1. Release Mouse1 after one bar (four beats). You must earn a Good or Perfect bonus on either side for this to count.

Big, Bold Changes
Execute 100 risers.

Risers are one of the final tools you will unlock in the Campaign. Simply execute 100 risers and this will unlock. They can be Steady, Smart or Random risers.

This Will Make a Good Story Later
Take a snapshot of your own mix.

At any point with one or more discs playing during Campaign or Freestyle, press T to take a snapshot.

Let Your Memories Be Fresh
Take 100 unique snapshots.

This can be earned quickly by taking a snapshot, changing one disc, taking another snapshot, changing another disc, etc.

The Work of Your Predecessors
Snapshot another player's shared mix.

You can view other player's shared mixes in the Social tab of the main menu. Simply view one and take a snapshot to unlock this achievement.
Customization and Freestyle
Can't Start a Party Without Some Tunes
Customize a crate.

In the Customization menu, edit any crate and save changes.

Set the Stage
Customize a stage kit.

In the Customization menu, edit any stage kit and save changes.

Put It Down on Wax
Redeem music tokens for a new instrument.

When customizing a crate, unlock any new instrument by spending music tokens.
See A Wise Investment in the Collection section of this guide for more information.

Add Those Sprinkles
Redeem music tokens for a new audio effect.

When customizing a crate, unlock any new audio effect by spending music tokens.
See My Special Secret Tools in the Collection section of this guide for more information.

Whip Something Up Real Quick
Capture a mix in Freestyle and share it with the FUSER community.

When mixing in Freestyle, there is a Capture button (looks like a microphone) toward the bottom left of your screen to capture your mix. Once you have captured and recorded your mix, you are given the option to share it. Share your mix and this will unlock.

Diversified Portfolio
Capture and share 10 mixes.

When mixing in Freestyle, there is a Capture button (looks like a microphone) toward the bottom left of your screen to capture your mix. Once you have captured and recorded your mix, you are given the option to share it. Share 10 mixes and this will unlock.

Brand Loyalty
Follow another player.

When listening to another player's mix, participating in Cooperative Freestyle, or evaluating mixes for the Weekly Event, you can view the profile of the other player and hit a button to follow them.
A follow button for each player will also appear on the end result screen of a session of Cooperative Freestyle.

You Look... Different
Perform in 5 unique looks.

Before performing a set, you can enter the Customization menu and create/select a new look. I personally just created five random ones and played one set each with them, then went back to my actual character's look once this was done.

To save time, this can be worked on at the same time as the Campaign achievements, and you can even select a new look directly from the menu directly before beginning your set (where you can customize your crate, etc).

Cue the Lasers!
Perform with 5 unique stage kits.

Very similar to the above achievement, except with stage kits.
I made one minor change to each stage kit (ie. each one had a slightly different pattern displaying on the screens) between sets.

Online:
Co-op Freestyle
Get the Party Started
Perform in a round of Cooperative Freestyle.

In Cooperative Freestyle, up to four performers take turns in performing for 32 bars. Once all players have performed and the results screen appears, this will unlock.

Keep the Party Going
Perform in 20 rounds of Cooperative Freestyle.

Once you have performed in 20 full rounds of Cooperative Freestyle, this will unlock. There is no need for any optimization or strategy here, just try to make your mixes sound as good as possible and enjoy the pretty wholesome process!

Good Vibes
Participate in a round of Cooperative Freestyle as a viewer.

In Cooperative Freestyle, you can join as a viewer, meaning you will watch up to four other people perform. Once you have viewed an entire round and the results screen appears, this will unlock.

Note: There are some mixed reports stating this may not unlock if there are less than four performers. This is yet to be confirmed.

Keep the Good Vibes Flowing
Participate in 20 rounds of Cooperative Freestyle as a viewer.

Once you have been a viewer for 20 full rounds of Cooperative Freestyle, this will unlock.
Unfortunately, this will take some time in which you are not really playing the game by default, but it isn't without merit. I have personally learned some really cool techniques or combinations from other players while spectating these 20 rounds. Grab a drink and enjoy the music.

Weekly Events
Show 'Em What You've Got
Submit a mix for an Event.

FUSER has weekly community events, where a certain set of parameters will be laid out and all players are given the opportunity to create a 32-bar mix and submit it to be voted on.

Submit one mix and this achievement will unlock.

Hearts and Earholes
Earn the voting reward in an Event.

When entering the Social tab, you will see two events currently active. One event will be only open for mix submissions, and the other event will only be open for voting on mixes submitted the week prior.

Find the event open for voting, and click Evaluate Mixes to be presented with mixes submitted by other players for the event.
After the first eight bars of a mix have played, you will have the option to Heart, Upvote, and Skip:
  • Heart is for mixes you enjoy
  • Upvote is for mixes you believe deserve to win the Event (not always the same thing)
  • Skip is to progress to the next mix in the voting queue.

To earn a voting reward, you must vote on a minimum of 10 mixes in any given event. A tick will signify that you qualify for this reward. However, you will not actually earn the voting reward until the voting period has ended, so check back once the event is over to receive your reward and this achievement.

Community Service
Submit a mix or earn a voting reward in 4 Events.

This achievement will take a minimum of 4 weeks to complete. See the More than a Hobby achievement below for more information.

More than a Hobby
Submit a mix or earn a voting reward in 8 Events.

This achievement will take a minimum of 8 weeks to complete, as you need to participate (either by submitting or voting) in 8 separate events.

You can only earn 'credit' toward this achievement once per week - That is to say, submitting a mix and earning a voting reward in one particular event will not progress this twice as fast.
Grindy Achievements:
Collection / Core Unlocks
Crate Digging
Unlock all core songs.

When customizing a crate in the Customization menu, use music tokens to purchase every locked song in the game. Some songs will not be available to purchase until you reach Level 45.

Music tokens are earned when you level up. Reaching Level 50 will guarantee you have enough tokens to unlock everything in the game.

A Wise Investment
Unlock all core instruments.

When customizing a crate in the Customization menu, use music tokens to purchase every locked instrument in the game. Some instruments are gated behind player level, and some others will be locked behind a five-star rating on a particular Campaign set.

Music tokens are earned when you level up. Reaching Level 50 will guarantee you have enough tokens to unlock everything in the game.

My Special Secret Tools
Unlock all core audio effects.

When customizing a crate in the Customization menu, use music tokens to purchase every locked effect in the game. Some effects are gated behind player level, and some others will be locked behind a five-star rating on a particular Campaign set.

Music tokens are earned when you level up. Reaching Level 50 will guarantee you have enough tokens to unlock everything in the game.

Accessorize!
Unlock all core styles.

This achievement is a bit of a pain. Not only do you need to unlock every item of clothing in the Looks menu, but each item of clothing will also have its own individual range of colours and palettes that also need to be unlocked.

Work through the clothing menu and methodically inspect the customization options of every individual shirt, shoe, facemask, tattoo, etc. as each will have 5 - 10 variants that are also locked behind style tokens. If this has not unlocked, check everything again as you have probably missed something.

Style tokens are earned when you level up. Reaching Level 50 will guarantee you have enough tokens to unlock everything in the game.

Broaden Your Horizons
Unlock all core stage kit items.

Similarly to the Accessorize! achievement, this can be quite finicky. Check to make sure you have unlocked every firework, crowd effect, screen pattern, lighting effect, etc.
Purchase everything available with style tokens to unlock this achievement. If this has not unlocked, check everything again as you have probably missed something.

Style tokens are earned when you level up. Reaching Level 50 will guarantee you have enough tokens to unlock everything in the game.
Reaching Level 50
Headliner
Reach the level cap.

The level cap in this game is 50.
When you first begin playing, you will be levelling up at a very regular pace, but this will significantly slow down around the 20-25 mark. Hitting level 50 is quite a grind, but thankfully there are a few strategies to make it easier.

Evaluating mixes in the weekly event is by far the most efficient way to farm XP:
  • Each mix 'evaluated' will grant 400 XP
  • You do not need to heart or upvote the mix to receive this XP
  • You do not need to listen to the entire mix
  • You can skip to the next mix as soon as the game will allow you to
Therefore, from a pure efficiency standpoint, the fastest XP farm in the game is to simply listen to the first 8 bars of each mix and immediately skip to the next, particularly as the XP requirement to hit 50 is so high.

However, keep in mind some people work really hard on trying to provide the best mix they can for these events, so if whilst doing this you hear something you like, or the mix captures your attention in the first 8 bars (before you're allowed to skip forward), please consider listening to the mix in full, giving it a heart or an upvote, and following the creator of the mix.
The weekly events in this game are great at bringing out the creativity in people, and is poised to be one of the biggest factors in FUSER's longevity.

Don't feel bad about skipping the obvious All Star and Never Gonna Give You Up meme mixes, but if you hear something cool, please take the time to listen - Somebody worked hard on that!

For the sake of this section being comprehensive, here are some other sources of XP:

When playing Campaign sets, you will be awarded 100 XP per star earned (ie. a four star performance will net you 400 XP).
You will also earn approx. 400 XP per session of Cooperative Freestyle you perform in - Participating as a viewer will not grant XP.
Conclusion
And with this, you should now be all set to unlock all of FUSER's achievements - I hope you enjoy the game as much as I do.

If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment on this guide and I'll do my best to help.

Cheers!

If you're still achievement hunting this game after all the online services closed (like me), sharing mixes in Freestyle generates a decent amount of XP which might make the grind to Level 50 a little easier. You don't have to capture/render it into a video to get the XP either.
I got 600 XP off a 32 bar capture.
Mana-Sama! 23 Oct, 2021 @ 8:13pm
I just started playing this game recently, so this might have been changed since publication, but evaluating mixes only gets me 200 XP/mix, plus I tried leaving after two mixes fully played, but didn't get any XP until I did 11 in a row, and only for the 11 consecutive mixes. Am I missing something?
Naftak  [author] 28 Jul, 2021 @ 3:25pm
That is most likely correct - Some items will only be unlocked via 5 star sets.
The styles one was also annoying in the sense that it's very easy to miss one, make sure you have checked every single item for variants. There were probably three separate times where I was sure I'd unlocked everything, only to find another item with hidden variants.

I'm having trouble getting "Accessorize!" I spent all of my style points, but according to steam achievements, I have 92/100. Does this require getting 5 stars on each set too?
roogymirror 10 Apr, 2021 @ 2:50am
There's a button to the right of eject. Use that to cue swap. I don't think Perfect Pickup Cue Drops are possible (I've never got one), but the achievement is intended for swaps. So even though Perfect Downbeat Cue Drops work for the Swapping on Downbeat achievement, you need a Perfect Pickup Swap to get the Swapping on Pickup achievement. Don't know if this is your issue or not, but it's something I didn't initially know when trying to get the achievement.

Yes, I'm swapping discs between active and cued disc, I don't undestand why I don't get the correct bonus. It worked just fine doing "Moving the needle" achievement.
Naftak  [author] 28 Dec, 2020 @ 10:04pm
To clarify, you're definitely swapping between an active disc and a cued disc (I think the hotkey is F), as opposed to dropping a new disc entirely from the crate, right?

"Perfect pickup drop" suggests the disc is coming from your crate at the top of the screen, as opposed to being cue swapped.
Autumn 28 Dec, 2020 @ 7:31pm
I can't manage to unlock "Chocolate and Peanut Butter". Every time I swap a disc on pickup I get the "Perfect pickup drop" instead of "Perfect pickup cue drop" like his counterpart achievement "Moving the Needle" for swaping discs on downbeat (That one works fine). Maybe I'm missing something?
