You have to give permission to website for viewing your profile.

You can enter the background viewer from tools -> background viewer

After entering you have to search for which game is wallpaper from and select the wallpaper to test the background. All custom themes looks like its transparent but most of them not totally (except dying light 2 theme) so be careful choosing background because it might be unvisible because of matte themes of steam.
