By Hombre Jungla
Some times HDR and bloom effects get broken when you use a graphic mod to improve half life visual experience like for example in this case Mmod. Lets fix it!

My working fix:
(Im using Half life+MMod) But it should work with anyone who has this problem. Incluiding Mmod+Update Mod.
Some times is just better with out Update mod cause is outdated lol, but its all personal tastes.

1) If u have HDR disabled, enable it on FULL HDR, Apply and then restart your game.

2) In console use: mat_bloom_scalefactor_scalar 0.30 (Default is on 1) i played with the settings from 0.00 to 1 and after testing a lot, i found my sweet spot on 0.30 but you can adjust those number as you want to adjust the bloom at ur own taste.

3)For confort (and dont have to put the command every time you launch the game),On the shortcut ure using to launch the game put this in the steam launch options:

+mat_bloom_scalefactor_scalar 0.30

It solve the problem of saturated ligthing, using HDR FULL and with out disabling some cool bloom efects.

Hope it works for you.

по умолчанию так то 0.50 а не 1 (возможно изменили в последнем обновлении), и лучше выглядит при 0, т.е. при полном отключении хайлайтов

So glad I found your guide. I've been playing HL2 Update/MMod 1.3 and the combination of the MMod saturation, which really brings out the colors, and HDR was just overwhelmingly intense in some scenes that I wound up turning HDR off completely. But making the adjustments you describe made all the difference, and now I can have the best of both worlds. Thank you very much!
