Introduction and "Before You Start"
Welcome to the Outer Worlds Achievement Guide. This guide is intended to help you navigate Halcyon and earn the achievements there in.

Before you start......

Some achievements are mutually exclusive and cannot be earned in the same play through unless you have a well placed save and some items are required to have on hand to earn other achievements.

The following achievements require special attention:

Mightier Than The Sword



Ludwig Was Right



These 2 achievements require the player to either save or destroy Edgewater. If you save at the right place you can re-load and earn the other achievement. See "Quest Related Achievements" section.

Peace in our time



Monarch Abides



These 2 achievements deal with how you choose to handle the MSI and Iconoclast conflict on Monarch. "Peace In Our Time" requires several steps to set-up, whereas "Monarch Abides" only requires 1 action. A well timed save allows you to double back and get both achievements. See "Quest Related Achievements" section.

Sunburn



This achievement will require your INTELLIGENCE attribute to be low. You can lower your INTELLIGENCE by setting up your character at the beginning of the game with low INTELLIGENCE or by using Adrena-Time multiple times prior to skipping the Hope. It's good to have 3 or 4 on hand to be safe. Adrena-Time looks like this in your inventory:









Well Dressed



This is one of the easiest (and most painful) achievements to miss. In order to earn this you must have "A Nice Hat" which is found on Monarch outside Stellar Bay in a church. It is a one of a kind item and if you sell, breakdown or otherwise lose it you will be unable to get the achievement. "A Nice Hat" is pictured below and looks identical to "The Oxonian", however "The Oxonian" cannot be substituted for "A Nice Hat" to earn the achievement. See "Quest Related Achievements".








Save the game before talking to Udom Bedford on The Groundbreaker. Once you speak to him you will take the path to either turn Phineas in to the Board or to not turn him in. Which path you take affects your ability to earn certain achievements. "The Cartographer", "Mightier than the Sword", "Ludwig was Right" all flow from siding with the board. Also Felix's companion quest "Friendship's Due" has a small window to complete if you side with the board.






Difficulty, Level and Completion Achievements
Ach - Level 30
Requirement - Character Level 30 reached.
Missable - Yes

Reach Level 30 with your character before the game ends. Doing every side quest you can will help you get the XP necessary, but once you leave for Tartarus you cannot go back to do any missed side quests (the game will warn you about this). Achievement is best earned before heading to Tartarus just to make sure you don't come up short on XP.

Ach - The Outer Worlds
Requirement - Completed The Outer Worlds on any Difficulty.
Missable - No (assuming you complete the game)

Finish the game on any difficulty (Story Mode, Normal, Hard or Supernova) to earn this one.

Ach - Hard
Requirement - Completed The Outer Worlds on Hard difficulty
Missable - Yes

Beat the game on hard difficulty. If you beat the game for the first time on hard you will also get "The Outer Worlds" achievement.

Ach - Supernova
Requirement : Completed The Outer Worlds on Supernova difficulty
Missable - Yes

Beat the game on Supernova difficulty. If you beat the game for the first time on Supernova you will also get "The Outer Worlds" and "Hard" achievements.

Note that Supernova difficulty is considerably more difficult than hard difficulty and includes the following differences:
-If you reduce the difficulty below Supernova, you cannot re-enable it.
-Enemies have more health and deal more damage.
-You must eat, drink, and sleep to survive.
-Companions can die permanently.
-Crippled body and limb conditions can only be healed with bed rest.
-Weapons and armor work very poorly at zero durability.
-You can only fast travel to your ship.
-You can only sleep inside your ship.
-You can only manually save while inside your ship and autosaves are limited.
Main Story Achievements
Ach - Welcome to Halcyon
Requirement - Landed in Emerald Vale
Missable - No

This achievement is earned when your escape pod lands in Emerald Vale. First achievement of the game.

Ach - Ticket to Anywhere
Requirement : Got your very own ship
Missable - No

After completing the main quests "Stranger in a Strange Land" and "Comes Now the Power" and installing the power regulator on Hawthorne's ship, enter orbit to unlock the achievement.

Ach - The Cartographer
Requirement - Deal with the cartographer
Missable - Yes

This is the achievement for completing the quest "The Demolished Woman". In order to get access to this quest you must buy Udom Bedford's seal back from Gladys on Groundbreaker for 8000 bits. Once you give the seal to Udom, he hands you the papers that allow you to go to Byzantium and meet Sophia Akande. After arriving at Adjutant Akande's Landing Pad go up to her office and offer to prove yourself to her. She will give you "The Demolished Woman" quest. Complete the quest to earn the achievement. This is a main quest for this path in the game.

Ach - Something's Fishy
Requirement : Reached Stellar Bay
Missable - No

Depending on which path you take in the main story you can either buy a Navkey from Gladys on Groundbreaker for 10000 bits or be given a Navkey by Sophia on Byzantium for free.

Ach - Pirate Radio
Requirement - Stopped the Monarch broadcasts
Missable - No

Complete the main quest "Radio Free Monarch" to earn this.

Ach - Paradise Found
Requirement - Landed in Byzantium
Missable - No

You can get the Navkey from Phineas on his ship or from Udom on Groundbreaker depending on which story line you choose.

Ach - Lost and Found
Requirement - Skip the Hope
Missable - No

This achievement is earned once the quest "Kept Secret But Not Forgotten" is complete assuming you have ADA do the skip. Save the game before engaging ADA to jump to have access to "Sunburn".

Ach - Sunburn
Requirement - Skip the Hope into the sun
Missable - Yes (If intelligence is not low enough and you can't lower it you will not have the dialogue option for [DUMB].

Although not a story related achievement it is a direct result of finishing the "Kept Secret But Not Forgotten" quest in the main story.
Lowering your intelligence by taking Adrena-Time and suffering withdrawal will allow you to access the [DUMB] dialogue option so you can skip the Hope into the sun.
Take 1 Adrena-Time and wait for it to wear off and you will go into withdrawal. Repeat and check that your Intelligence has at least on red arrow in your character stat sheet. Each Adrena-Time lowers intelligence 1 notch.
Talk to ADA and tell her you want to skip The Hope yourself will give you the [DUMB] dialogue option.
Be sure to save prior to doing this as the game ends if you skip the hope into the sun.

Ach - Hard Time
Requirement - Land on Tartarus.
Missable - No

This is earned when you make the decision to fly to Tartarus.

Ach - The Audience Gasps.
Requirement - Learn the Shocking Truth about the Colony
Missable - No

During the main Quest "The City and the Stars" you travel to the HHC Building in Byzantium. Accessing a terminal upstairs in the office allows you to view a view a video by Chairman Rockwell. Achievement will pop after viewing the video.

If you take a different path in the main story Sophia will show you the video.


Companion Achievements
Ach - Best Friend
Requirement - Recruited a companion
Missable - Yes - If you do not recruit a single companion (highly unlikely)

The first companion recruited is typically either the Vicar or Parvati in Edgewater.

Ach -One for All
Requirement - Recruited all of the companions
Missable - Yes - If you do not recruit all 6 companions. Must recruit at first opportunity or achievement can be missed (do not say "no" initially then go back later to recruit).

List of companions and their recruiting quests (in approximate order):

Parvati - Edgewater. After talking to Reed Tobson in his office in the Saltuna Cannery, you can take her along with you on your quest. Parvati will follow and when you prepare to board the Unreliable you can invite her to join your party.

Vicar Max - Edgewater. Recruitable after "The Illustrated Manual" quest. The Vicar will agree to join your party but will not follow you and states he will be on the ship when you are ready to leave.

Felix - Groundbreaker. After talking to Udom Bedford to get your ship out of impound, Felix will be standing at the end of the entrance ramp to the Unreliable.

Sam - The Unreliable. Recruitable after "The Cleaning Machine" quest, talk to ADA on the Unreliable to start the quest. Returning to Sam and installing the Acid Steeper will activate SAM and he can join you when you exit the Unreliable.

Ellie - Groundbreaker Medical Bay. Recruitable after "Worst Contact" quest, talk to Ellie to start the quest.

Nyoka - Stellar Bay, Monarch. Recruitable after completing the quest "Passion Pills". Talk to Nyoka to start the quest.

Ach - Anything for a Friend
Requirement - Finished a companion's quest line.
Missable - Yes

Complete any companion's quest line (except Sam). You will get this automatically as you work towards "All for One".

Ach - All for One
Requirement - Completed all companion quests
Missable - Yes

Each Companion has 1 or 2 side quests you must complete, as follows (10 total) :

Parvati - "Drinking Sapphire Wine" and "Don't Bite the Sun"
Vicar Max - "The Illustrated Manual" and "The Empty Man"
Felix - "Friendship's Due"
Sam - "The Cleaning Machine"
Ellie - "The Low Crusade" and "Worst Contact"
Nyoka - "Passion Pills" and "Star Crossed Troopers"

Once you have recruited your companions you will hear them ask "Cap' can we talk?", initiating dialogue with the companion will start a quest.

Note that if you side with the board and accept the "Demolished Woman" quest from Sophia, Felix will not talk to you. Do some exploring with Felix before you go to see Sophia. Eventually he will initiate conversation and you can do the "Friendship's Due" quest prior to "Demolished Woman"





Quest Related Achievements
Ach - Mightier than the Sword
Requiremente - Save Edgewater permanently
Missable - Yes

This is the alternate achievement to "Ludwig was Right"

1) During the quest "Comes Now the Power" choose to re-direct the power to Edgewater.
2) Convince the deserters to return (Adleaide will stay behind but talking to other deserters will get them to return to Edgewater.
3) Keep Reed Tobson as as the leader of Edgewater (critical for success).
4) Give Udom Bedford his seal from Gladys.
5) Follow the main quest story line until you complete "Signal Points in Space"
4) After the "Signal Points in Space" quest with the Information Broker you will be prompted to see Sophia on Byzantium.
5) SAVE THE GAME
6) Talk to Sophia to earn "Mightier than the Sword"


Ach - Ludwig was Right
Requirement - Bring robo-destruction to Edgewater
Missable - Yes

This is the alternate achievement to "Mightier than the Sword"

Load the saved game from "Mightier than the Sword"
8) Return to Edgeater and kill Reed Tobson
9) Return to Sophia to get the "Foundation" quest.
10) Complete the "Foundation quest to earn "Ludwig was Right"

Ach - Dentastic
Requirement - Return the toothpaste recipe to Anton Crane
Missable - Yes

Glayds on Groundbreaker will send you to Roseway to look for tech in the quest "The Distress Signal"
Speak to scientists around town (Anton Crane, Orson and Vaughn), then track down their research. For Vaughn and Orson you can return it to them or take it to Gladys. Anton's toothpaste research which you look for in the quest "The Doom That Came to Roseway" must be returned to him to earn this achievement. You will need to get it from Cassandra......one way or another.

Ach - SubLIght to the End
Requirement - Complete the SubLight quest lines.
Missable - Yes

Complete the 3 SubLight quests given by Lilya Hagen on the Groundbreaker to earn this achievement:
1) Space-Crime Continuum
2) The Ice Palace.
3) The Chimerist's Last Experiment

Ach - A Star is Born
Requirement - Star in an Odeon Pictures movie.
Missable - Yes

Speak to Maverain Johnston in Byzantium to get the "At Central" quest. He will be standing in front of a drone on the street. Initiate dialogue with him and he will tell you to go to the studio for an audition. Follow the quest and talk to Maverain after the acting scene to earn the achievement.
Depending on your levels of "LIE", "INTELLIGENCE", "INTIMIDATE", "ENGINEERING" you can pass the speech checks in the audition. Speak to Maverain afterwards to earn the achievement.

Ach - Well Dressed
Requirement - Wore 'A Nice Hat' and 'Chimaera' at the same time
Missable - Yes

In order to get this achievement you will need to complete the quest "Makes Space Suits, Won't Travel" from Celeste Jolicoeur on Byzantium (she is on the second level off Progress Plaza). After completing the quest you can get the key to her office to get the Chimera.

1) Model clothing for her (Iconoclast, Marauder and generic spacer clothes - not Spacer's Choice)
2) Collect the ingredients she asks for
--A) Primal Leathers from Primals on Edgewater or Scylla.
--B) Chitin from Mantaqueen on Monarch.
--C) Raptidon Flank Hide on Monarch.
3) Return to Jolicoeur and she will ask you to pick up a package from HPS. When you return to her store, she has been killed by Byzantium security. Speak to the Guard Commander and select the phrase "You killed Celeste? That's insane" to make the guard leave. Collect her office key and take the Chimera off of her desk.
4) Pick up "A Nice Hat" from the church outside Stellar Bay. Wear both the hat and the clothing for the achievement to pop.

Note : if you lose, sell or breakdown "A Nice Hat" you cannot get this achievement as "A Nice Hat" is a unique item.

Stylin'








Ach - Peace in Our Time
Requirement - Broker peace between the Iconoclasts and MSI
Missable - Yes

This is one of the more complicated achievements in the game and starts with the main quest "Pirate Radio". Note you will need a PERSUADE skill of 55 to make this work.
1) Speak with Nyoka at Stellar Bay and do her quest "Passion Pills".
2) Collect Nyoka as a companion and she takes you to Devil's Peak Station where you meet the Information Broker (Hiram Blythe)
3) Blythe asks you to stop the MSI and the Iconoclast broadcasts.
4) Head to Amber Heights and speak with Graham and the Iconoclasts first.
5) He will assign you the quest "The Commuter". You will have the choice of collecting cartridges (for Graham) or extra supplies (for Zora). You MUST choose supplies for Zora.
6) After returning to Graham he will assign you the quest "Pay for the Printer". Before heading out Zora will ask you to retrieve her team (the Van Noys). You MUST help the Van Noys get back to Amber Heights by getting them the Trauma Kit. Graham will now stop the broadcasts.
7) If you have satisfied Zora's requests in "The Commuter" and "Pay for the Printer", she will give you the quest "Sucker Bait" which you must complete and report back to Zora.
8) Speak to Sanjar in Stellar Bay and get the quest "BOLT With His Name". Complete this quest and delete the data on the ARMS Terminal (must delete the data). Report back to Sanjar.
9) Sanjar will now assign you the quest "Errors Unseen", complete this quest and return to Sanjar. Sanjar will now stop the MSI broadcasts.
10) Return to Hiram Blythe and jump start the Tower.
11) Start Candid's Cradle quest when the UDL ship crashes. Collect the Targeting module.
12) SAVE THE GAME SO YOU CAN GET THE "MONARCH ABIDES" ACHIEVEMENT FROM THIS SAVE.
13) Talk to Zora, she overthrows Graham and becomes leader of the Iconoclasts. With a persuade of 55 she will agree to talk to Sanjar about peace.
14) Visit Sanjar in Stellar Bay and ask him to consider peace with Zora and the Iconoclasts.
15) Sanjar will insist on seeing Zora's executive review before he talks to her.
16) Collect Zora's executive review from a safe in Rizzo's bar in Cascadia (east side of the river)
17) Return to Sanjar and he will agree to meet Zora in a church outside Stellar Bay.
18) Arbitrate the peace between them for the achievement.

Ach - Monarch Abides
Requirement - Won the Battle of Stellar Bay
Missable Yes

1) Re-load the save from step 12 in "Peace in Our Time" walk through.
2) Give the Targeting Computer to Graham.
3) Support the Iconoclasts as they attack MSI at Stellar Bay.
4) Achievement pops when Sanjar dies.










Feat Achievements
Ach - Silver Tongue
Requirement - Used dialogue skills 30 times in conversations.
Missable - Yes

When talking to NPCs you may be given the option to persuade, lie or intimidate. Using these options 30 times will earn you the achievement. Stealing is a good way to get dialogue options.
Increase your "PERSUADE", "LIE" and "INTIMIDATE" through the "DIALOG" skill set on the character skill tree next time you level up if your options are grayed out. The Tier 2 perk "SOLILOQUY" adds +10 to your dialog skills as well.

After being caught stealing you have 3 different ways with dialogue to deal with the NPC that catches you, any one of the options will count toward the achievement.







Ach - Everything Must Go
Requirement - Sold 10,000 bits worth of items to vendors
Missable - Yes

As you sell unneeded items to vending machines or traders this will unlock once you sell 10,000 bits worth of goods.
You can use the perk "SNAKE OIL SALESMAN" Tier 2 perk to increase the amount vendors will pay you for items by 20%. A good reputation with the faction you are doing business with can also increase the price you sell items for.

Ach-Upgrades Available
Requirement - Improved your gear 30 times through tinkering and mods.
Missable - Yes

Tinkering with weapons or armor costs bits, modifications have to be bought or found to be installed on your weapons.

Modifications applied to a pistol. This pistol can take 3 different types of modifications; barrel, magazine and sight, but only 1 of each type at a time.







Ach - Skilled
Requirement - Raised a skill to 100
Missable - Yes

Distriubute skill points so that there are 100 in 1 category.

You can reset your skills and perks at the "Vocational Competence Respecification Machine" on the Unreliable to set one skill to 100.







Both melee skills set to 100.







Ach - Flawed Hero
Requirement - Acquired 3 flaws
Missable - Yes

Flaws are "earned" when you do something negative multiple times. For instance falling too many times or encountering primals multiple times. Flaws can be ignored, but you will need to accept 3 to earn this achievement. Every time you accept a flaw you also get a perk There are 26 potential flaws.

Flaw offer - Herpetophobia after encountering too many Mantipillars and Mantisaurs.

Ach - Well balanced Breakfast
Requirement - Simultaneously had bonuses for meat, carbohydrates, sugary drink, caffeine, and alcohol.
Missable - Yes

Check your inventory in the health category for the food / medicinal items you need. You need one item each for meat, carbohydrates, sugary drink, caffeine and alcohol. You can buy some items from vending machines or scavenge them.
The descriptions for the items will tell you which of the 5 categories the item provides, tap f to use each one and check your character's attributes to see they are satisfied.

Examples of 5 items that will satisfy the achievement requirement:

Ach - Not the Best Choice
Requirement - Simultaneously equipped Spacer's Choice brand clothing, headgear, and 4 weapons
Missable - Yes

This can be done early in the game in Edgewater. Visit the general store and purchase the helmet, clothing and guns or search around Edgewater for the items while doing quests. You can have multiples of the same weapon equipped as long as it is Spacer's Choice.

Ach - Health Insurance
Requirement - Used the medical inhaler 300 times.
Missable - Yes

Typically Adreno is in the first slot of your consumables. Tapping "F" will allow you to use it and heal. You need to do this 300 times (unclear if it spans over multiple games or just 1 play through). Since there is no counter to tell you how far away the 300 target is, when you get near the end of the game, save and tap "F" continually until the achievement pops or you run out of Adreno.

Ach - Everybody Likes Me
Requirement - Had 75% or higher positive reputation with 3 factions.
Missable - Yes

Ach - Destroyer of Worlds
Requirement - Had 75% or higher negative reputation with 3 factions.
Missable - Yes

These 2 achievements are the opposite of each other.

Increase your reputation by performing quests for the factions. You need to get any 3 of the 9 factions above 75% at the same time. Avoid killing or stealing from them.

Decrease your reputation by killing all the MSI people in Stellar Bay, all the Iconoclasts in Amber Heights and all the Sub-Light thugs at the C&P Boarst Factory on Monarch.
You can check your status with each faction in "REPUTATION" under "CHARACTER".

Primary Factions - Groundbreaker, Iconoclasts, Monarch Stellar Industries (MSI), Sublight Salvage and Shipping and The Board.
Secondary Factions - Auntie Cleo, C&P Boarst Factory, Deserters and Spacer's Choice.
You can check your status with each faction in "REPUTATION" under "CHARACTER".

Ach - Impossible Mission
Requirement - Succeeded at 3 dialog conversation checks with a single disguise.
Missable - Yes

Collect the Holographic Shroud from the Captain's quarters on the Unreliable. When you get to Monarch talk to Catherine Malin in Fallbrook for the "Slaughterhouse Clive" quest. Pick up the Boarst Factory ID cartridge from Duncan Elley and go to the C&P Boarst Factory.
Once inside allow the shroud to wear off by moving around. When it wears off you will be challenged by SubLight guards through dialogue. Pass 3 times to earn this achievement. If you get caught stealing that will also count when in disguise.

Kill Achievements
Ach - The Harder They Fall
Requirement - Killed a mega creature.
Missable - Yes

You will likely earn this automatically as you play but if you want to knock it out early, there is a Mega Sprat under the Edgewater Landing Pad.



Ach - Tossball All Star
Requirement - Killed 50 enemies with a tossball stick or tossball blocker.
Missable - Yes

Use a tossball stick or tossball blocker to melee kill enemies, the kills do not need to be stealthy but it helps to have a high melee skill. The blocker is a 1-handed melee weapon and the stick is a 2-handed melee weapon so make sure to distribute your melee skill points according to which tossball weapon you choose.

Kills must be unique (cannot save and re-kill the same target). Tinker the tossball weapon of your choice to a higher level since they are often low level weapons. Can potentially be combined with the achievement "Never Seen"

Ach - Got Your Back
Requirement - Killed 50 enemies with companion abilities.
Missable - Yes

Point your cross-hairs at a target and use "C" and "V" to get your companions to use their special abilities on the it Try to target weaker enemies or enemies you have already significantly damaged to ensure the companion will get the kill.

With 2 companions both "C" and "V" are usable (lower left hand corner).







Ach - Elemental Maelstrom
Requirement - Killed an enemy that was hit with all 5 damage types.
Missable - Yes

Enemy must take damage from all 5 damage types before dying. Easiest way to do this is to have 1 of each damage type in your inventory and cycle through while attacking an enemy. Make sure the enemy is reasonably tough. Alternative method is to have the science weapon "Prismatic Hammer" and a science level of 80. The hammer changes damage type every time you swing it.

The 5 damage types (left to right) - Normal, Plasma, Shock, Corrosive and N-Ray.







Ach - Patient N
Requirement - Killed 20 enemies that were infected by spreading N-rays.
Missable - Yes

Shoot enemies with N-Ray enabled weapons when they are near other enemies, the rays will spread to other enemies and damage / kill them. This enemy is taking damage over time from another enemy that was hit with an N-Ray weapon.







Ach - Never Seen
Requirement - Killed 50 enemies with sneak attacks
Missable - Yes

This achievement requires a melee weapon and kills must be unique (cannot save and re-kill the same target). It helps to have high "STEALTH" and high "MELEE" skills. Use a melee weapon that can kill with 1 swing (tinker the weapon to a higher level if necessary). The Prismatic Hammer science weapon tinkered to a high level with a high science skill and the perks "WEIRD SCIENCE" and "WILD SCIENCE" can also be helpful. Can potentially be combined with "Tossball All Star"
achievement.
Finding targets to do this can be hard. You can kill cystapigs on Monarch in the C&P boarst factory, chickens in Rose way and sprats (assuming you can sneak up on them).

Ach - Jack of All Trades
Requirement - Killed an enemy with a science weapon sneak attack during TTD, with a weakspot critical hit.
Missable - Yes

Works best with the Prismatic Hammer science weapon. Must be one swing only to kill the target. Sneak up on a target, tap "Q" and swing. Hopefully you hit the weak spot in the process. I did it on the first try with a tamed Canid as the target.

Ach - We All Fall Down
Requirement - Turned 100 enemies to ash with plasma damage
Missable - Yes

A flame thrower has plasma damage without modifications. Go to Monarch and kill Raptidons which die easily with flame + plasma damage. Tinker the flamethrower up if necessary.

Ach - Short Circuit
Requirement - Killed 30 automechanicals with shock damage.
Missable - Yes

Use a weapon equipped with shock damage on any automechanicals you engage to kill them. If necessary you can go to Byzantium and kill construction, janitorial, advertising and gardener droids to pad your total.

The shock cannon does shock damage without modification.








Ach - Poor sportsmanship
Requirement - Hit 30 enemies in the groin during tactical time dilation
Missable - Yes

Use a ranged weapon (assault rifle (with scope) or dead eye rifle). Tap Q to enter TTD and aim for the enemy's groin. When the word "WEAKEN" appears fire. Hitss must be unique (cannot save and re-hit the same target), hits do not have to kill. The location on the enemy will only appear if you are at least level 20 in the "RANGED" skill for your character.

Ach - Mad Scientist
Requirement - Killed an enemy under the effects of 4 science weapons.
Missable -Yes.

1) Collect at least 4 science weapons (I used the Mandibular Rearranger, Prismatic Hammer, Mind Control Ray and Gloop Gun).
2) Re-spec your character on the Unreliable at the "Vocational Competence Respecification Machine"
3) Max out or try to max out 1 and 2 handed melee skills and science skill
4) Select the perks "WILD SCIENCE" (Tier 2), "WEIRD SCIENCE" (Tier 3) and Tier 1 perks "TOUGHNESS", "RESILIENCE" and "PRECISION" along with any others that suit your playing style,
5) Put the Mandibular Rearranger and Prismatic Hammer in your inventory and Tinker them up as far as possible at the workbench.
6) Take any 2 companions with you (except Sam). Give one the Gloop gun and the other the Mind Control Ray.
7) Set your companion's attack attributes to Distance "FAR", Weapon "RANGED", Mode "AGRESSIVE"
8) Find a Mantaqueen on Monarch and direct your companions to attack with the "X" command.
9) Continually melee the Mantaqueen alternating between the Prismatic Hammer and the Mandibular Re-arranger. With any luck when it dies it will be under the control of all 4 science weapons.

Science Weapons cannot be modified but they can be tinkered to a higher level. Also they need to be repaired as they will degrade.

Climb on top of the bunks and through the slot into the large open room with Outlaws and a Scrap Mechanical. The Prismatic Hammer is in a small room off to the right.

Mandibular Rearranger - Scylla in the Abandoned Mining Camp









Gloop Gun - Monarch in the UDL Lab.
You will travel to this lab automatically if you do the quest " Errors Unseen" for Sanjar. A Marauder on the 2nd floor has the key card required to access the terminal. Answer 3 questions correctly to get the Gloop Gun container to unlock.









Mind Control Ray - Monarch - Rizzo Secret Lab in Cascadia.
You will go here automatically if you take the quest "Space-Crime Continuum" from Lilya Hagen on Groundbreaker. Look for the opening which is right before you leave the lab in an elevator. Jump over the chasm, go up the ladder, jump over another chasm and up the next ladder and the Mind Control Ray is at the top.








All but the Gloop Gun can be found in a container that looks like this:
DLC - Murder on Eridanos
Murder on Eridanos is 1 of 2 DLC packs for The Outer Worlds.

There are 10 achievements in total of which 4 are missable, in order to access the DLC you must be level 30 and have access to the Stellar Bay Landing Pad. If you load your last save and are on Tartarus, the game will send you back to the point before you traveled to Tartarus to access the DLC. Achievements are in the rough order you would complete them in the game.

Ach - The Myster's Afoot
Requirement - Start the DLC
Missable - No

Start the DLC by talking to ADA on your ship and selecting the top dialogue option (see below). After working through the dialogue and speaking to 3 NPCs you can exit ADA and the achievement will pop. Go to your navigation terminal and head to Eridanos.



Ach - No Longer Clueless
Requirement - Use Discrepancy Amplifier for the first time
Missable - No

After you reach Eridanos you will head to the Grand Colonial Hotel where the body of Halcyon Helen is found. Dr. Goodnight will give you the Discrepancy Amplifier. Equip the Discrepancy Amplifier and point it to the left of Constable Keene and press "E" to analyze the footprints for the achievement.

Ach - Put out of Their Happiness
Requirement - Kill 50 Infected Humans or Parasites
Missable - Yes

You might earn this one without a save and re-load but to insure you earn it early to get it out of the way, when you head to the Purpleberry Orchard on the SW Island save as soon as you cross the suspension bridge, kill all the enemies you encounter (including in the hedge maze), then re-load and repeat. Takes about 3 re-loads. Alternatively, create the save and go back and re-load for more kills after the completing the DLC if you need them for the achievement.


Ach - Mutt and Jeff
Requirement - Ask a companion to be the Bad Inspector
Missable - Yes

Make sure you have a companion with you while on the Main Quest "Prince of Tossball", when you find Bertie and talk to him, at some point in the dialogue you will see the dialogue option "What do you think Parvati? Up for a little "good inspector, bad inspector"?" Select this option, if you are with Parvati she will fumble it and the achievement will pop.



Ach - Interrogo Totus
Requirement - Investigate every suspect and report your findings to Administrator Ludovico
Missable - Yes

There are 4 suspects and each has their own related main quests as follows:
Black Hole Bertie - Prince of Tossball - quest starts automatically after "A Momentary Taste of Purpleberry" finishes.
Spencer Woolrich - The Man Who Chafed - quest starts automatically after "A Momentary Taste of Purpleberry" finishes.
Sedrick - Lord of Blight - starts after "Prince of Tossball" is complete.
The Prophet - The Productivity Queen - Talk to Bellhop Norville (the same guy that welcomes you to Eridanos) in the Hotel lobby to start the quest.

The final step for each quest is to speak to Administrator Ludovico. While talking to Ludovico it is important to avoid selecting the dialogue "I know Who Killed Halcyon Helen". Once that dialogue is selected you cannot tell Ludovico about the other suspects and the achievement will be lost.

The best method is to complete each quest to the last step (talk to Ludovico) and then talk to Ludovico at the Penthouse terminal, telling him about each suspect one right after the other.

Ach - Alive And Kicking (And Shooting Too!)
Requirement - Discover the biggest secret in the aetherwave industry
Missable - No

After talking to Ludovico at the terminal and telling him you know who killed Halcyon Helen, you will need to go "rescue" him at the distillery. While in the distillery you will encounter Halcyon Helen v2. Agree to help her take down Ludovico and then escape the building is one path the other is to side with Ludovico.


Ach - Spectrum Needler Buddy
Requirement - Acquired Spectrum Gatling, The Needler, and Udder Buddy.
Missable - Yes

Udder Buddy

The easiest of these to acquire is Udder Buddy and you can get it as soon as you have access to the North Island. When you go up the elevator, ahead and to the left is "Legal Hunting Supplies". Standing at the counter is Mildred Lenox who will give you the quest "Lost Little Milk Mech". Complete the quest and return to her to receive the Udder Buddy.


Spectrum Gatling

Spectrum Gatling is located on the SW Island in the RR&DD lab behind Dr. Blossom. The access card to enter the lab is found at a picnic site nearby as part of the main quest "A Momentary Taste of Purpleberry". After entering the area behind Dr. Blossom you can access the terminal to get the Spectrum Gatling Gun using the 8 different types of Spectrum Vodka. The vodka types can be found in front of the bartender in the Rizzo Distillary in the NE island.

The Needler

After escaping the building with Halcyon Helen v2 return to the Penthouse and talk to her. During the dialogue you will get the opportunity to persuade her to give you the Needler. If you have level 40 persuade the Needler is yours, otherwise pickpocket or kill her, take the Needler and then re-load a previous save. If you sided with Ludovico then you will encounter Helen v2 again and kill her for The Needler.


Ach - The Rock or the Hard Place
Requirement - Choose to either infect or cure Eridanos.
Missable - No

If you side with Halcyon Helen v2 this will pop after completing "The Bird Drug" otherwise it pops after "The Story of Two Disasters" if you side with Ludovico.

Ach - You Have Selected Regicide
Requirement - Kill the Slug Queen
Missable - No

As the requirement says, Kill the Slug Queen, recommended to have 2 companions to take her down faster and easier.

Ach - Murder on Eridanos
Requirement - Completed Murder on Eridanos on any difficulty
Missable - No

This will pop after boarding your ship and speaking with ADA to complete the "Captain Go Home" quest.










DLC - Peril on Gorgon
Most of the achievements in this DLC are missable and only 3 or 4 are guaranteed in a play through. To avoid doing multiple play throughs, it is recommended to make a manual save at the beginning of the main quest "The Red Tape of Command", if not at the beginning of the quest start then right before you pick up Olivia's Journal. A second manual save should be made at the start of the final main quest "The Ambrose Intersection" so you can branch off and get the different endings which give multiple achievements.

You can start "Peril on Gorgon" by going to Groundbreaker and talking to ADA. A message will pop up about a package to be delivered to you. Open the package to start the DLC. The package is always to the left when you enter The Unreliable near where Parvati stands.

Requirement - Listen to Lucky Montoya's message
Missable - No

As soon as you open the package you can access the phonograph. Listening to the phonograph will complete this achievement.

Ach -Lucky Stiff
Requirement - Find Lucky Montoya's body
Missable - Yes

(Not so) Lucky Montoya's body can be found in a Marauder stronghold inside a cave guarded by a Canid.






Ach - Specila P.E.T. Benefits
Requirement - Acquire the Special Deliver, P.E.T. and Employee Benefits Science Weapons
Missable - Yes

Employee Benefits is obtained by completing the main quest "The Man in High Orbit" from Dr. Jasper Low in the Olympus Orbital Pharmaceutical Station.










The P.E.T. is obtained by completing the side quest "A Dialog Between Dead Men". This side quest is obtained by interacting with the hideout door located at the middle of Gorgon Canyon.












Special Delivery is obtained by killing "Charles from Accounting" in Gordon Canyon's Marauder Outpost. You will need to fight through Charles to get to the area where Lucky Montoya's body is to earn the achievement "Lucky Stiff". Charles wears a MoonMan helmet.













Ach - Good Listener
Requirement - FInd 20 Phonographs
Missable - Yes

Phonographs are scattered around the map, mostly in areas you visit to do quests. You can "mine" phonographs by repeatedly collecting the same one over and over by saving before picking it up.

If you choose to do the side quest "The Electric Fling" you will be required to pick up 4 of the 22 phonographs.

The rest of the achievements are generally related to which ending you choose. There are 3 paths to go to get all the achievements. "Peril on Gorgon" is automatic at the end of any of the paths.

The best method to avoid having to replay the entire DLC through mutliple times is to create a save during the "Red Tape of Command" Main quest right before you pick up Olivia's journal in the SMC building on Gorgon.

I concur with erc below that you can get Never Seen with a rifle. I added a silencer mod to the barrel for added stealth, but not sure that was necessary. Probably best to be crouched prior to head-shotting. Wait until later in the game after you've leveled and go back to Edgewater to farm Outlaws and/or Primals.

(An FYI regarding Health Insurance - The achievement is not dependent on a single playthrough, but appears to be cumulative - Period. I completed the game on easiest difficulty (the one reserved for easily frightened kindergartners :lol:) and when I realised that I'd failed to earn the Health Insurance achievement, I simply loaded a late game save, exhausted my Adreno supply (no achievement yet), and AGAIN RELOADED THE SAME save and continued for just a bit, until the achievement popped.) Again - Excellent Guide you have, with a very catchy name BTW
