Whether the Path leads you to the wielder of Soul Edge or Soul Calibur, both swords are equally formidable against the steel and silver sword.

Nightmare, I've found to be a bit of a chore to fight as Geralt. Yes, he doesn't have an i12, though he is surprisingly oppressive to the point where I have fought a few where the only valid move seems to be "block, get guard crushed, repeat" and it doesn't help that Dire Vengeance can shut down the Aard sign, which can force you to instead use Yrden or a regular Guard Impact in situations where you need to MAKE an opening rather than find one.

Xianghua, being the original (but IMO crappier) wielder of Soul Calibur, well.. She's one of the reasons why I get the impression that Geralt's fighting style is a gynophobic one. While using a vastly different fighting style, she and Geralt are both wielding longswords (Chinese vs European) though the main difference between the Chinese and European longsword is that the former seems to have a lot of options for mixup play and applying pressure while the latter while the former is kind of not good at countering pressure at all. It's apparent to me that I won't be able to repeat the results I recorded with this particular fight against X so glad I recorded it and such a clean play probably warrants the usage of Yuuhei Satellite's newest vocal track, as linked below.
