And hehe well done on the salmon.... that musta been some fight... MIne was unreal also If u look to the right of me standing.. .see the wee telescopic green rod? and small silver reel? lol i had 6lb line oN"! wi a 20 lb wire trace.. and a size 1 trout mep "! lol
So yep.. it was unreal... it even dragged the boat about a lot.. in the cove.. lol
And it dived 2 r 3 times.. before it finally gave up.. and yep i released her... :D best fish fight i ever had.. even more than the 20 lb red rock cod i caught at north berwicks harbour pier... 3 r 4 days after one o those 90 mph storm winds.. so everything help n all all stirred up n fish feeding heavily.. That fish.. i couldnt even reel up out the water.. a friend had too pull the 30 lb line up by hand... hehe
:steamhappy:

haha hey monty... And aye... its my fave loch also... However its one of scotlands most dangerous.... There has been so many deaths there now in the last 10 years its insane...
Remember how bad it is for the huge pointy rocks under the surface?
Well i think many even were in boats at night.. .how stupid can ya get?...
So u can imagine whats happened...

I still mind that 1st trip.. and the guy i was with and x brother in law.. in the boat trawling around .. and i was right at the front.. watching for these huge pointy rocks n boulders..
Now i know why... "The Deaths in the last 10 years" ... It can prolly be googled actually...

Christ Dave we must have crossed paths.Unless you were still a twinkle in your Daddies eye.We had a log cabin at loch aweside in 1985 doing a fibre contract from Glasgow to Fort William. Some gamekeepers Laird in the pub told us there were plenty trout in Loch Awe when we first got there .The first fish we landed on the fly was a 20 lb pike, and you dont see that every day of the week.Mind the old cumudjeon of a ghillie was still annoyed, we found out later he hated the English, and had sent us there cos Peter Anderson the salmon fly casting champion was holding his salmon casting course near our cabins. They all thought it was a salmon the fight it put up.There is nothing as in sincere as a fisherman who has caught nothing seeing you with a 20 odd pound salmon and wishing you well especially a Jock (ye sassanch bassa)
