This mod replaces factions' rosters and aesthetics with that of the original Rome Total War. Not only is every unit from the original game present, I also balanced the battle pacing more like Rome 1 (for example, units will rout at higher strength if their morale is low, but can return to your control.) I made this mod a few years ago and it was broken by updates, but I found out the fix was very stupidly simple (through hours of troubleshooting today.)

This only works in custom battles. I will be working on updating the campaign version, but I make no promises that it will work, or it will work as well as before. I have to remake the entire campaign map from scratch so it will take a while. The Patch 17 version of the mod will remain untouched since it works perfectly fine, and the new version will be uploaded separately, at least until I can verify that it works flawlessly.

Let me know if anything is horribly broken.


P.S.
For anyone else struggling with updating your old unit mods, the "historic texts" table is an absolute requirement or the unit will not appear in the game. Their land_units table must refer to an entry in unit_description_historical_texts even if it is simply the word "placeholder." The fix was that simple for my 180+ units.

any chance of making this a standalone for the grand campaign? Adding units instead of removing the old?
