Step 1: Adding funds

Go to the screen to add wallet funds.

Step 2: Inspecting

Right-click on one of the BUTTONS and click inspect element.
I don't know what browsers do and don't have this but I use Google Chrome.

Lots of people in the comments says it changes the appearence, that's because they did not read that you must inspect the button!

Step 3: Choosing the amount

Change the '400' to any amount you want.
900 = 9.00 (in your currency)
855 = 8.55 (in your currency)
ect.

DO NOT ADD UNDER THE MINIMUM FUND LEVEL (£4 or $5)

Step 4: Your specific funds have been added

You have now added your funds congratulations!
Now go and spend it on the Mann Co store or something.

This does not cheat anyone out of any money and is safe. Valve needs to make this a feature.

FAQ:

1. Does this give me free money?
No. It is adding SPECIFIC amounts of money.

2. Is this fake/a scam?
No, you are just changing a value.

3. It's not working for me, what can I do?
If you are adding below the minimum fund level it won't work.

4. It won't work and i'm adding more than the minimum fund level, what can I do?
I have no idea, sorry.

5. Can I add you/ask for free stuff?
No.

6. Will this just change the way it looks?
No. That was just for the image of the guide. This guide will allow you to add specific amounts.

7. Can I add an absurdly high amount of money?
Currently Steam are restricting Steam Wallet balances to $400 $2000.

Can confirm in 2023 this method still works, just added £5 and it worked (Minimum in the UK is 4) I think you issue you're all having is changing the amount and not the "data-amount=400"

The only difference I encounter is that you have to modify the data-amount="12000" instead, hard to miss tho.

Still works as of 7/04/2022. I had a Visa Gift card with a bit more than $5 and was able to purchase a precise amount of funds. Very Helpful!

wanna confirm this still works as of sept. 2021; if your using firefox right click> inspect> edit as html, modify the 500 (if usd) to your desired amount> nothing will visibly change on the screen when you push the green $5.00 button check the next page to verify the amount you are being charged. Thanks for this post OP,
btw can someone explain to me why this works, or does this just modify the request being sent to steam to be for the amount entered
