This is set after "pearl and the 5 stages of grief"

no, I'm not a fan of SU, I just like to torment the awfully written characters by dragging them through absolute madness.

No idea where tf lapis went, after peridot went mad.

It has been 5 Years since Stevens death; the threats the gems faced since then had gotten worse, but it was nothing that they could not deal with.

From strange predatory aliens to Psychotic killers, the gems had faced a lot since Steven's death...

Pearl sat down in the living room of the Steven's house after another day of fighting off threats that posed a danger to earth and its inhabitants and let out a stressed sigh.

Garnet and Amethyst were also sitting down in the living room, tired.

Amethyst, Tired, says to the other gems "we need a break"

Pearl looks at Amethyst and replies "That sounds like a good idea, I think we need one"

Garnet comments "good point, but don't you think Little Home World Still needs someone to help defend it?"

Pearl replied to Garnet "No, I think Little Home World can defend itself pretty well, we did train them after all"

Garnet replies to Pearl "Good point, I think we do need a break, it would do us some good"

Pearl then says to the others "So, if were going on break, where should we go?"

Amethyst replies to Pearl "Somewhere hot maybe, I've always wanted to visit Brazil"

Garnet replies to Amethyst "No way Amethyst, its too far away and there is no warp pad to get back if there is an emergency"

Amethyst replies to Garnet "So got any ideas?"

Garnet replies to Amethyst "Maybe, we should look at what our options are before we decide on anything"

Amethyst replies to Garnet "good point, but what range can we go for?"

Garnet replies to Amethyst "No idea, We can't go off world in case the warp pad fails and we can't go too far, so we need to do something more localised"

Pearl then says to Garnet "So how far are we talking?"

Garnet replies to Pearl "Not too far, I would say a maximum of 60 miles so we can get back in an hour at 60mph if something goes wrong, even then that is pushing it"

Amethyst then says to Garnet "so, should we start looking for some localised vacation spots?"

Garnet replies to Amethyst "yeah, I think now would be the perfect time"

Garnet then says to Pearl "Pearl, would you mind going on the computer and looking up some nearby places we can go? you're good with technology so its best you do it"

Pearl replies "No problem, I'll get started now"

Garnet replies "Thank you Pearl"

Pearl then gets up, goes over to the computer and begins researching for local Vacation spots in a 60 mile radius.

After 3 Hours of research, pearl finds a few local places.


The first is a Local Motel, 20 miles away with a pool and a 3 star rating, $30 for 1 person per day.

Comments about the Motel say that its rather fine but some rooms were badly maintained or dirty and there was nothing to do nearby.


The second is a Log cabin in the woods, 35 miles away with a 4 bed bedroom, a living room, a kitchen and bathroom, a wide forest to explore with trails and a small clear area out front for making a camp fire and doing outdoor stuff for $40 per person a week and a 4.7 star rating.

Comments about the Log cabin say that the cabin itself was good, clean and tidy, the woods were vast but you could get lost of you went off the trails too far and that local wildlife, such as the owls and deer have a tendency to be rather loud.


The third is a house, 55 miles away, $10 for 1 person per day, an all in one room with beds, kitchen, bathroom and living room; with a 1 star rating.

Comments about the house say that its awful, dirty, unclean, infested with rats and cockroaches, the walls are falling apart and that the owner is rude, unwashed and made uncomfortable advances towards female guests.


The forth was an apartment for rent, 40 miles away for $9.99 a day per person, included bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room, was on the 7th floor of an apartment block with a 2 star rating.

Comments said the apartment itself was ok but void of decor, the neighbour's were loud, the owner was never around to talk to and their was nothing around to do.


Pearl then printed out the articles for the 4 locations and took them, she had no idea which one to choose but she personally felt as if the Log cabin was the best option; concerning price and what the comments said about it.

Pearl then entered the main room; put the 4 articles on the table and called for Garnet and Amethyst to show them what she had found.

Amethyst came in from the kitchen and Garnet came down from upstairs.

Pearl then presents all 4 options to Garnet and Amethyst, explaining the finer details for each option and debating which one is the best option.

After a short debate, the gems decide on Pearls choice, the log cabin which they plan to book for a week costing $120.

The other options were more expensive and were generally unappealing too.

The Motel would have cost $630 if they stayed a week, 3 x 30 = 90, 90 x 7 = $630.

The house would have cost $210, 10 x 3 = 30, 30 x 7 = $210

The apartment would have cost $209.79, 9.99 x 3 = 29.97, 29.97 x 7 = $209.79

All while the log cabin will only cost $120, 40 x 3 = $120, and seemed like a much nicer option especially when compared to the other 3 options and what people said about them.

Then Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl all agreed that the log cabin was where they would go for their vacation.

It seemed like a good idea too, it was far away from the city but no too far, it had stuff to do and would be a good change of scenery for the gems, something different.

That night, Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl Packed up some suitcases, booked the vacation for tomorrow and got the details from the land owner online regarding payment and location.

The next day, the gems prepared to leave for their vacation; they checked their suitcases quickly to make sure they had everything they needed and got ready to leave.

The gems took their suitcases out front and loaded them into the trunk of the car, once they were done Pearl got into the drivers seat, started up the engine, turned on the Satnav, put the address into the device and got ready.

The other gems got in the back and pearl started to drive towards the cabin.

After around 52 minutes of driving, The gems arrived at the cabin.

The cabin was just like it was advertised, a space out front to have a camp fire, a nice cabin and surrounded by vast woods, perfect for exploring.

As the gems pulled up and parked, a man approached them, it was the land owner, an older man in his late 70s with a peaked cap, green hunters jacket, waterproof trousers and boots.

He said to them in a mild scottish accent "Ay there, so are you the ones who booked the cabin for the next week?"

Pearl replied "Yep, speaking of which here's the money for you"

Pearl handed the man the $120 for the week and he took the money.

The land owner then said to Pearl

"OK, before ya get started unpacking, there is something I need to tell yas, 1. don't leave any food out, it attracts critters, 2. always lock ya doors and windows before you go to bed, ya don't want any owls or deer finding their way in."

Pearl replied to the land owner "Thanks for the advice"

The land owner replied "good, now ya enjoy yerselves, oh and here is the keys" and handed Pearl the keys to the cabin.

Pearl replied "Thank you sir" as the man then turned and walked off.

After that, the gems unloaded the cases from the car and unlocked the cabin door.

The gems went into the cabin and it was just as the comments said, it was clean and had everything that was advertised.

4 beds in 1 bedroom, a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom.

The gems unpacked their stuff and decided to start their vacation.

Day 1:

The first day was mainly exploring the local area, setting up and getting familiar with the woods to avoid getting lost, staying close to familiar trails and navigating a small area around the cabin.

After the gems had set up and got familiar with the local trails in the woods, the gems decided that it was time to actually do something vacation related.

Pearl had the idea to explore the local woods while Garnet and Amethyst wanted to try and play "english football" to see how it was compared to "american football".

Pearl initially tried to convince them, but the woods could wait, they had a whole week to explore it, so a game of "english football" would be interesting.

Garnet explained how the game was played and acted as the referee while 4 sticks were planted in the ground to act as goal posts and the ball was set in the middle of the playing field.

"ready, set, GO" shouted Garnet as the game started.

Amethyst ran at the ball and made the first kick, Pearl managed to block it and kicks the ball back in her direction.

Amethyst tries to block but the ball passes her and goes into the goal.

Pearl 1 - Amethyst 0.

Garnet goes over, gets the ball and resets the game.

This time, Pearl gets the first kick, Amethyst blocks it and kicks it back but pearl is able to block it and kick it back again.

Amethyst blocks the shot and kicks it back, but pearl is unable to block it and Amethyst scores a goal.

Pearl 1 - Amethyst 1.

Garnet goes over, gets the ball and resets the game.

"OK, one more go and its my turn, ill take the place of whoever loses"

Pearl gets the first kicks again, Amethyst blocks the shot and kicks it back but Pearl blocks, managing to kick the ball back in a way where Amethyst can't stop it, scoring another goal.

Pearl 2 - Amethyst 1.

"Ok, my turn Amethyst" shouted Garnet as she prepared to switch places with Amethyst.

Garnet then walked out onto the playing field as Amethyst got ready to be the referee.

Amethyst then got the ball and set up the game.

Garnet and Pearl prepared to face off, as Amethyst prepared to start the game.

"3,2,1, GO!" Shouted Amethyst, starting the game.

Garnet ran for the ball, making the first kick, Pearl blocked and kicked it back towards the goal but Garnet was able to block it and send it back, Pearl was unable to stop the ball as it passed her and into the goal behind her.

Garnet 1 - Pearl 0.

Amethyst got the ball and put it back to start the next game.

This time, Pearl got the first kick and managed to get the ball passed Garnet, but Garnet managed to catch up and get the ball off her, kicking it towards the goal pearl was guarding.

Pearl quickly chased and managed to stop the ball,causing it to miss the goal.

Amethyst got the ball and put it back to reset the game.

Again, Pearl managed to get the first kick, but Garnet anticipated this and was able to deflect the ball back and into pearls goal easily.

Garnet 2 - Pearl 0.

Amethyst then got the ball again and set up the next game.

This time Garnet got the first kick and tied to pass Pearl, but Pearl could see this coming and managed to get the ball off Garnet and kick it past her, Garnet tried to catch up but Pearl was able to score a goal before she could catch up.

Garnet 2 - Pearl 1.

The game was over, Garnet was he clear winner and was clearly better than Pearl and Amethyst.

Amethyst called the game and the gems decided to head inside and decide who got which bed.

The gems went into the cabin and looked at the bedroom, there were 4 beds, one in each corner.

Amethyst looked around and chose the right bed near the door as it was furthest from the window while garnet chose the left bed near the door as sleeping near a window seemed strange to her.

Pearl chose the bed at the back left, closest to the window so she could see the stars in the night sky from the bed as the window would be just off to her left, allowing her a clear view of the sky.

After that, the gems looked outside and noticed that the sun was setting and that it was probably time to start up a camp fire outside.

The gems went outside and started to gather sticks and bits of wood, assembling a small fire outside and using some logs they found as seats.

After building the fire and locating some good logs to use as seats, it had quickly become night time with the stars in full view.

Amethyst then lit the fire and the gems sat down around it.

The gems looked at the night sky above them, looking at the many constellations they could see and talking about what they though the constellations meant.

After a short while, Amethyst started to get hungry and took out a bag of marshmallows she kept hidden in her gem and offered to share them with Pearl and Garnet.

Garnet accepted while Pearl initially wanted to say no, but she decided to give it a try, she hated eating and what came after, but she thought that it might be nice to give it a try.

Amethyst then quickly found some sticks and passed them to Garnet and Pearl along with some marshmallows to cook by the fire.

Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl put the marshmallows on the sticks and started cooking them over the fire for around 4 minutes, giving it a perfect gold colour and delicious inside.

Pearl found herself enjoying the cooked marshmallows, she knew she would need to "get rid of what comes out" after, but it was worth it.

They did this for about an hour, cooking marshmallows and talking about what was on their minds.

After about an hour the gems were getting tired; it was getting late and it was probably time to get some sleep.

The gems put out the fire, made sure it was out properly and went inside for the night.

The gems went to bed while Pearl locked the doors and windows, making sure no animals found their way in and got stuck in the cabin.

Pearl then went to bed that night, thinking about what they should do tomorrow.

Later that night pearl awoke to the sound of something outside, she looked out the nearby window to see what it was but saw nothing in the darkness outside.

Thinking that it was either an animal or a mild hallucination from her medication, the thought nothing of it and decided to go back to bed...

Day 2:

The next day, Pearl woke up to the smell of something being cooked in the kitchen.

Pearl got up and looked around, Garnet and Amethyst were nowhere to be seen.

Pearl went to go check the kitchen and found Amethyst cooking breakfast, eggs and bacon.

Pearl then asked Amethyst "hey Amethyst, do you know where Garnet is?"

Amethyst replied "I think shes outside"

Pearl then went outside the front of the cabin to try and find Garnet.

Pearl looked around outside the cabin and saw Garnet inspecting one of the logs they sat on last night, except the log had been moved several meters and had a large set of claw marks on it.

Pearl then approached Garnet and asked her what was going on, Garnet replied

"I think we left some food out last night by accident" as she pulled an empty, torn up marshmallow bag out from under the log.

The marshmallow bag had been torn open, as if something with claws had tore it open.

Pearl then asked Garnet "What do you think made those claw marks on the log?"

Garnet replied "I'm not sure" as she examined the claw marks in further detail.

The claw marks were 3 long and deep cuts in the wood, easily 2 inches apart from one another, an inch wide, 3 inches deep and a foot long.

Garnet then said to Pearl "I don't know, maybe a bear, they look like older cuts too, do you remember the logs we found having these marks?"

Pearl replied "I'm unsure, I never payed any attention to if they had claw marks or not and it was getting dark too so I probably wouldn't have noticed them"

Garnet then replied to Pearl "so what about it being moved?"

Pearl replied to Garnet "maybe a deer just came and moved it around a bit and its horns tore up the marshmallow bag when it tried to eat them?"

Garnet then replied to Pearl "that would explain a lot and the older marks too, maybe somebody before carved them into the wood to mess with people?"

Pearl replied to Garnet "That makes sense to me, I can't think of any animal that could make claw marks like that"

Garnet then replied to Pearl "good point, nor can I, must be someone messing around"

Pearl replied to Garnet "so what should we do now?"

Garnet then replied to Pearl "Amethyst is cooking breakfast so we should probably go and eat"

Pearl replied to Garnet "good idea"

Garnet and Pearl head inside the cabin and find that Amethyst has prepared food for all 3 of them.

The gems sit down and start eating, Pearl again was not initially interested in eating but remembered how she enjoyed the marshmallows last night and decided to give it a go.

Pearl ate the eggs and bacon, finding that she actually enjoyed it, the taste, the texture, the way the flavors mixed.

Pearl enjoyed the food and thanked Amethyst for cooking breakfast, Amethyst simply replied "No problem, I'm just glad you enjoyed it"

After the gems finished their breakfast, they decided to talk about what to do today.

Amethyst had the idea of trying to climb some trees, Garnet had the idea of a bit of combat practice while Pearl had the idea to explore the local woods a bit and see what they could find.

The gems debated for a short bit, climbing a tree seemed unsafe and combat practice was the one of the very hings they were on vacation to avoid doing.

Leaving Pearls idea to explore the woods as the only option.

Having no other ideas, the gems decided to follow one of the forest trails and see if they could spot anything, but before going out they would need a way to get back and not get lost.

Pearl looked around and then looked through her suitcase, taking out a compass that she had packed to help them explore the woods and not get lost.

Pearl then showed the compass to the other gems and said "we could use this to avoid getting lost, the red part always points north so we can use that and the path ways to avoid getting lost"

Garnet replies "that sounds like a good idea, but we should get ready before going though; hiking boots and such"

Pearl replies "oh, I nearly forgot, we should get ready then"

After that the gems got ready, put on some hiking boots that they had brought with them and left the cabin to start exploring the forest.

But before they could start, they needed to understand which way they were going, Pearl used the compass to compare the angle of the cabin to where the north needle pointed and found that the front of the cabin pointed perfectly north-west.

Using this and staying on the main paths, they could easily find their way back and avoid getting lost.

Now knowing which way was what, they decided to just go north-west, straight ahead of the cabin and follow the path to see what they could find.

The gems started walking through the forest, staying to the main path and using the compass to navigate.

The gems walked for around an hour, taking in the sights and sounds of the forest as they went, seeing birds and animals they wouldn't normally encounter, even a few deer which would run off quickly when they were noticed.

But after around 30 more minutes of walking, they noticed something odd.

Pearl felt as if she was being followed, she looked around and saw nothing of note but the feeling remained.

Blaming it on her medication she decided to ignore it and not mention it.

That was until after 5 more minutes of walking, Amethyst said to the other gems "do you guys feel as if were being watched?"

Pearl replied "Now that you mention it, something does feels wrong"

Garnet then says to Pearl and Amethyst "yeah, I feel it too, somethings up"

The gems look around for a moment cautiously, trying to spot whatever it was that they felt like was watching them.

But out of the corner of Pearls eye, Pearl notices something in the bush and turns to look.

As Pearl looks she notices a deer hiding in the bush, looking directly at her.

Pearl prepares to mention the deer, but something about it just feels wrong, something was wrong with this deer in particular.

Unlike other deer, it just stood there and didn't move or run off.

It just stared at Pearl, almost as if watching her movements, almost as if studying her.

Then Pearl noticed something else, this deer looked "wrong" and its fur wasn't the natural brown either, it was a strange mix of reddish black and brown, almost as if its fur was saturated with filth of some kind.

Pearl looked away from the deer and whispered to the other gems while pointing at it carefully, "Guys, look"

The gems looked and saw the deer briefly before it turned and ran off into the deep woods, disappearing among the trees as it ran off.

Pearl then said to the other gems "is it me or was their something up with that deer?"

Garnet replies "I'm no expert, but something didn't feel right about it, it looked... off"

Amethyst replies to the others "Maybe its just a one off strange deer, life comes in all sorts of shapes after all so maybe its just a particularly brave deer?"

Pearl replies to Amethyst "good point, organics come in many forms so you're sure to get the odd one every now and then"

Garnet replies to Pearl "maybe we should just move on now"

Pearl then replies to Garnet "good idea, we should get moving"

After that, the gems continued to explore the forest for another hour before making their way back to the cabin, the way back taking just as long as the actual adventure itself.

By the time the gems got back, it was around 2pm and they needed to sit down after walking so much.

The gems sat down on the logs around the dead camp fire while pearl rolled the other log back to where it was before it was displaced in the night by whatever happened.

Pearl then sat down on the claw marked log that she rolled back and the gems started to relax a bit.

After about 2 minutes, Amethyst mentioned some of the birds she saw on today's adventure, sparking a conversation.

The gems talked for about 5 hours, topics ranging greatly, what they planned to do tomorrow, plans for the future, what they saw today and how they felt about their vacation so far.

Garnet was greatly enjoying the change of scenery, it was doing her good to get away from it all for a while and allowed her to focus a bit more on herself.

Amethyst enjoyed it too, she loved seeing what nature earth had and what life forms roamed it, it interested her greatly and sparked her curiosity.

Pearl also enjoyed the vacation, she enjoyed trying food and was starting to enjoy it despite the "after effects" it caused, but other than that it was overall a good experience.

After that, Pearl decided to mention the deer again, something still felt wrong about it, the way it looked at her, it felt as if the deer had followed them for that whole 5 minutes.

Pearl said to the gems "also, remember that deer we saw?"

Garnet replied "what about it?"

Pearl replied "do you think it followed us?"

Garnet replied "that is unlikely, deer are typically as far as I know rather afraid of humans and avoid people unless approached, in that case they might get aggressive and attack but that's it"

Pearl replied "do you think we were in its territory?"

Garnet replied "could be why but as I said, I'm not an expert, its just what I've heard deer are like"

Pearl replied "so where did you hear all this from?"

Garnet replied "I forgot who or where but I guess i just picked it up from someone"

Pearl replied "well if that is all the information we have to go, what should we do?"

Garnet replied "nothing, I doubt one "weird" deer is going to be much of a problem"

Pearl replied "good point Garnet, I'm probably just overthinking it"

Garnet replied "you are, just forget about it, we should focus on what were going to do next instead of some silly deer"

The gems then had a short debate regarding what to do tomorrow, but stopped when they noticed that the sun was getting low and that it was probably a good time to light the camp fire again.

So the gems gathered sticks and started building a fire, quickly getting it lit and sitting down around it.

With the fire lit and the stars in the night sky starting to show themselves as the sun hid away beyond the horizon, the gems started to debate again and come up with ideas.

Pearl had the idea to explore the forest some more, maybe take a different path.

Garnet had the idea to maybe just relax that day and do nothing.

And Amethyst had the idea to play football again.

The gems then stopped debating and decided to just look at the stars for a bit, enjoying the night sky and sounds of nature as the sun had fully gone, giving them a clear view of the stars to enjoy,

The gems then laid down on the grass and looked up at the sky, the stars shining above them, just enjoying it.

The gems laid down for about an hour before getting up and putting out the fire, they enjoyed it but it was time to have dinner and go to bed.

The gems went inside and Pearl locked up, locking the doors and windows as usual.

Amethyst then started cooking dinner while Pearl had to go to the bathroom and Garnet tidied up the bedroom a bit; when everyone got up that morning they had left the beds in a bit of a mess.

After 20 minutes, Pearl finished using the bathroom and came out to find that dinner was still being cooked and that Garnet had finished tidying the bedroom.

Pearl then sat down in the kitchen with Garnet and they waited for around 70 minutes till the Spaghetti and meatballs was cooked properly.

Once it was done, Amethyst served the food and the gems started to eat.

Pearl hesitated at first but quickly found herself enjoying the spaghetti and meatballs that Amethyst had prepared.

Amethyst and Garnet had never seen Pearl actually enjoy food like this before, she always hated eating but seemed to finale enjoy it despite "what came after".

Pearl and the other gems ate their dinner and rested for a minute, they needed to let the food actually go down and settle in their stomachs before they could do anything.

After about 5 minutes, the gems cleaned up their plates and dishes, put them away and got ready to go to bed.

The gems then went into the bedroom, got into their beds and drifted off gently to sleep.

Later that night, Pearl was awoken by a sound outside.

Pearl looked outside the bedroom window and saw nothing except darkness but could hear something moving around in the shadows outside.

Pearl then quietly moved over to her suitcase, looked around inside and found a flashlight she had packed; she then checked if it had batteries and moved back towards the window to look outside.

Pearl then carefully approached the window, pointed the flashlight at the window and turned it on; she looked around using the light and saw 2 reflective eyes looking back at her from beyond the flashlights range, directly ahead of the bedroom window.

She froze as as the eyes looked at her, staring deep into her very soul.

Then, the eyes got closer to the flashlights range, closing in on the border between light and darkness.

What Pearl didn't expect is what happened next, from the darkness emerged a deer, one with the same dirty fur and "weird" look that Pearl had seen earlier.

That is when Pearl realised that it was the same deer, "But what was it doing here?" she thought to herself.

Suddenly, the deer looked off to the side for a moment before running off back into the darkness; silently and without leaving a trace.

As the deer ran off Pearl noticed something, the deer didn't appear to have a tail from what she could see, then again maybe it was because of how dark it was and the dark fur made it hard to see.

Pearl turned off the flashlight and thought to herself "did i just see that? was this real?"

Pearl shook her head and thought to herself "No, it can't be real, its probably just me hallucinating from my medications again or something, there is no way that it followed us"

Pearl looked outside the window one more time but saw nothing.

She knew how her medication made her hallucinate and how darkness could play with your head; so she decided to just ignore it and go back to bed.

Day 3:

The next day, Pearl woke up again to the smell of breakfast being cooked.

Pearl got out of bed but was still a bit tired, especially with her sleep having been disturbed.

Pearl walked towards the kitchen and found that breakfast was already being served, this time it was Garnet who had made breakfast, scrambled eggs and sausage.

Pearl sat down and started eating, enjoying the food and allowing her to focus on something other than what had happened last night.

After finishing their food, the gems decided to try and decide on what they should do today.

They looked at yesterdays suggestions and ideas and started to compare them.

Garnet's idea seemed ok but could probably be done another day.

Amethyst's idea seemed fun, but they felt like playing another game but had no idea which to try.

And Pearl's idea seemed good, another walk in the forest but on a different path could reveal something interesting.

The gems decided to go with Pearls idea and explore the woods some more, who knows what they would find.

The gems got ready, compass and hiking boots like before, this time they set off south east to see what was the opposite way, right behind the cabin.

The gems then set off and started their walk in the woods.

The gems walked for around 2 hours, following the main path as they explored the forest.

The gems then noticed something in the distance, a short walk away as they explored the forest, it seemed to be some kind of metal watch tower, one that looked like it belonged to a fire lookout.

The tower itself was partly rusted and looked like it was not built too recently but had been abandoned for some time.

The gems looked around and decided to cautiously approach and investigate the tower, it was the first major structure they had spotted and they were curious about what was inside.

The gems walked towards the tower and looked up at it, it was taller than the trees around them by a good distance, but looked a little short for a usual fire lookout tower.

The gems examined the tower as they got closer and noticed that the stairs going up were unlocked, allowing them to easily go up without a problem.

The gems looked around one last time before ascending the metal staircase and heading towards the top of the tower.

When the gems reached the top, they found that the door to the inside was open and that the windows of the tower had been broken.

The gems entered the main room on top of the tower and looked around.

They noticed that the inside was an absolute mess, a set of tables had been ripped apart with claw marks, chairs were strewn across the room and torn apart and several large dried blood stains covered several walls and parts of the floor.

Old police tape also hung from some of the walls as if this was an old crime scene.

Even the metal walls inside had claw marks too, rusted but still distinct among the rust that blighted the walls.

All of the claw marks looked old and just like the one Garnet found on the log outside the cabin.

Long deep claw marks that were easily a foot long each.

Garnet then said to the other gems "guys, I got a awful feeling about all this"

Pearl replied to Garnet "Garnet, remember the claw mark you found on the log?"

Garnet replied to Pearl "yeah, they clearly aren't part of some kind of joke, what sort of person would do this?"

Pearl replies "I don't know but I think we should get out of here and go home"

Garnet replied to Pearl "I don't know if we should, this looks like a pretty old scene, and from the claw marks and rust, I would say this all happened a good few years ago"

Pearl replies "so what are you saying?"

Garnet replied to Pearl "I'm saying that all these claw marks are pretty old and are probably from something that does not involve us and probably never will"

Pearl replies "you're right, its most likely nothing to worry about, we should probably just go back to the cabin"

Garnet replies "good idea, we should just forget we found this place too, from the police tape I'm guessing this was already dealt with as well"

The gems then headed towards the exit of the tower, but just after they emerged back onto the stairs, Pearl and the gems noticed something.

The same deer from the previous trip was standing in broad daylight on its hind legs like a person would on the path, just looking at them.

The deer looked at them; its eyes unblinking, it just stood there upright like a human, staring at them.

That's when Pearl noticed something, the deer did indeed have no tail, just like the one she saw last night.

The deer continued to look at them as Amethyst backed up to try and use the stairs, falling down a flight of them due to not looking where she was going.

Garnet and Pearl quickly looked back at Amethyst for a brief moment to see if she was ok and then back at the deer.

But the deer had vanished, gone without a trace, not even leaving any footsteps.

The only thing it left was a deep sense of unease that filled everyone.

Amethyst then got up after falling down the flight of stairs, she was dizzy and her head hurt but she was ok.

The gems then quickly made their way down the stairs and back to the cabin, something didn't feel right about all this.

Once they got back to the cabin, they got in and locked up, locking all of the windows and doors to make sure that they felt at least secure.

The gems gathered in the main room to make sure everyone was here and sat down, thinking about what they should do next to try and deal with the situation.

Pearl says to Garnet "Garnet, I need to tell you something"

Garnet replies "what is it Pearl?"

Pearl replies "I may sound crazy, but I think I saw that exact same deer last night outside"

Garnet replies "what do you mean?"

Pearl replies "Last night I got woken up by something, looked outside using a flashlight and saw that exact same deer we just saw today and yesterday."

Garnet replied "why didn't you tell us?"

Pearl replies "I didn't think it was real, it made no sense to me at the time, especially with how dark it was"

Garnet replied "that's understandable and with you being on medication too, I can see why you thought it wasn't real"

Pearl replies "so what should we do?"

Garnet replied "we should stay here and keep and eye out, if it comes back we should try and scare it off instead of letting it follow us and creep us out like this"

Pearl replies "good idea"

The gems sat their for the remainder of the day, keeping an eye out for the deer.

Later that day, Pearl decided to cook dinner for everyone.

Pearl looked in the fridge and found a microwave Lasagna for 4 people, it would do for tonight.

Pearl microwaved the Lasagna and served it once it was done, the gems then ate dinner and kept an eye out till around 9pm.

At this point there had been no sightings of the strange deer yet, so the gems decided to spook it away if it came back and to just go to bed for now, it was getting late and today's events had tired everyone out.

The gems tried to sleep but couldn't, the feeling of something being wrong remained no matter how hard they tried to ignore it.

After 2 hours of trying, the gems decided it was useless and that it would be easier to stay awake and just confront the deer if it showed up again.

The gems kept an eye out till around 2am when Pearl while using the flashlight noticed something out front.

2 glowing eyes, just like she saw before.

Pearl then told the other gems and they watched her as she went out front with the flashlight to confront the deer and scare it off.

Pearl walked out and walked towards the deer's glowing eyes as it lurked in the darkness.

Pearl then shouted "GO AWAY, LEAVE US ALONE" as she walked towards the set of eyes that stared back at her"

But the deer didn't move, it just looked at her as she got closer.

Eventually as she approached, the light from the flashlight revealed the creature.

As the light shined on the creature, she saw that the deer was standing on its hind legs and that it easily towered over her.

On its hind legs it was clearly twice the height of her if not more due to its antlers.

But pearl noticed something about how the deer was standing, its front legs were folded back behind it in a way that didn't look normal for a deer.

It looked like how a person would put their arms behind their back as if to hide something.

she also noticed something else; now that she was closer and able to see it properly.

The deer's body looked oddly stretched, like its bones had been lengthened and modified, making the deer's proportions look unnatural.

The deer looked almost like it was suffering from some kind of odd deformities to her.

But what Pearl didn't expect is what happened next.

She didn't expect what she thought was just a deformed deer to suddenly swing at her with a set of long claws that it had hidden, nearly catching her.

Pearl managed to dodge the swing from the creature and a second swing as it charged forward to try and catch her with its claws.

Pearl then quickly turned and ran back to the cabin as fast as she could; just as the creature started to give chase and run after her.

The gems, seeing Pearl now running from this creature and towards the cabin; quickly opened the door to let Pearl in and slammed it shut after she entered.

Luckily they closed it just before the creature slammed into the front of the cabin with its full weight.

The sheer force of the impact caused the whole cabin to shake for a second before everything settled down and stopped shaking.

The creature was briefly disorientated by the impact with the cabin but quickly managed to get its focus back before backing up and charging at the cabin again, crashing straight into the door and knocking it open.

Now with the cabin door open, the creature could reach the gems with ease.

The creature then started to make its way inside the house, using its long clawed arms to move more like a gorilla than a deer as it crawled through the doorway.

The gems got ready to fight, drew their weapons and prepared to defend themselves as this thing entered the cabin.

Garnet then charged at the creature and delivered the first attack; a punch with her fist, only for the creature to not even flinch from the impact and to just shrug it off like it was nothing.

The creature quickly attacked back by backhanding Garnet, a backhand so powerful that it knocked her into the back wall of the main room and caused her to fall to the floor after.

Pearl and Amethyst retaliated by attacking the creature.

Pearl used her spear to try and stab the beast while Amethyst used her whip to try and restrain it.

But their attacks proved fruitless, Pearls spear merely bounced off its hide and the creature managed to land a stab on her with its claw, directly through her main body, poofing her.

And Amethyst's attempts to restrain the creature only resulted in it grabbing her whip, pulling her in towards it and grabbing her.

Garnet tried to get up off the floor and looked up, all she saw as she looked up was the creature opening its mouth while holding Amethyst in its grip and that Pearl had been poofed.

As the creature opened it mouth, it revealed a set of carnivorous teeth that it had hidden in its maw.

The creature then bit into Amethyst with its teeth, poofing her and crushing her gem in the process, killing her outright.

Amethyst's shards dropped to the floor and everything went silent, Garnet had just seen this thing effortlessly kill Amethyst right in front of her.

The creature then bent down, sniffed the shards and seemingly lost interest as they weren't edible to the creature.

Then Garnet started to fill with rage, Amethyst was dead and Pearl was lucky to have just been poofed and not killed by this monster that stood before her.

This thing had killed her friend and was clearly intent on ending them all too.

So Garnet got up off the floor and charged at the creature, swinging a punch at it as hard as she could...

But it caught her fist mid swing.

Garnet then used her other fist to swing at the creature but the creature simply caught that one too.

The creature then lifted garnet into the air by her hands and slammed her into the floor.

Garnet was then lifted and slammed into the floor 4 more times by the creature before it let go and stood over her as she laid uselessly on the floor, unable to fight back.

The creature then stood over her, placed its clawed hands around her chest and hip, lifted her into the air and slammed her down again, this time over the creatures knee.

Garnet felt an intense pain rush through her as her back bent over the knee of the creature and a sickening cracking sound filled the air.

Garnet was then dropped on the floor as she rolled off the creatures knee, landing face first on the floor as she fell.

Garnet then had an idea to just "play dead", maybe the creature would lose interest and leave her alone if she stopped moving.

The creature then picked her up again and bit into her shoulder, but quickly stopped when it didn't taste anything.

The pain from the bite was intense, but garnet had to not scream or move if she wanted it to think she was dead.

the creature then sniffed Garnet as she stayed motionless in its grip, pretending to be dead and trying not to scream as the pain coursed through her.

The creature then opened its mouth and stuck its tongue into the wound it had made, trying to see if their was any flavor or meat, but found nothing.

the creature then seemingly lost interest and dropped Garnet's limp body before it sniffed the air a few times and left out the front door quietly.

Garnet waited quietly while in severe pain for a few minutes to make sure the creature was gone before attempting to move, but once she was sure it was gone, she tried to use her legs and stand up.

But she couldn't, she was totally unable to move or even feel her legs at all.

Garnet then realised what had happened, the thing broke her spine and she was now paralysed from the waist down.

Garnet looked around and realised that Pearl was still poofed and that Amethyst was indeed dead, her shards covering the floor where she had been shattered.

Garnet then realised that the only way out of here was to wait for Pearl to un-poof and help her, there was no way that Garnet could clean up the shards, take Pearls gem with her and drive a car all while having no use of her legs.

Garnet laid on the floor for around 11 hours while she waited for Pearl to un-poof, the whole time she stayed laying on the floor, staring at Amethyst shards and praying that the creature didn't come back for a round 2.

After around 11 hours, pearl finale un-poofed and was horrified when she looked around.

Amethyst was dead and Garnet was just laying there on the floor, not moving.

Pearl got up and ran over to Garnet, Garnet then explained to Pearl how she was unable to use her legs, what had happened and how Amethyst was now dead.

Pearl and Garnet decided that they needed to get out of here and fast, it was day time but that thing could easily come back and attack them again.

Pearl quickly lifted Garnet up off the floor, took her over to the car and put her in the passenger seat.

Amethyst was dead and getting the shards would put them at extra risk of being attacked; meaning that they had no choice but to leave her shards behind.

Pearl quickly got in the divers seat and started driving, they needed to get away from this thing to avoid the risk of being attacked again.

Pearl drove down the path that lead up to the cabin and started to drive back to beach city.

After driving back and arriving back at the house, Pearl quickly parked the car and stopped for a moment, processing everything that had just happened.

Amethyst was dead, Garnet was paralysed from the waist down and she had no idea what to do.

Suddenly, Pearl felt herself starting to panic, all of the dread and pain setting in.

Pearl then got out of the car and just laid down on the floor, she had no idea how to react to any of this.

Pearl then just started screaming, she had no idea what to do, all of this just happened and their was nothing she could do.

Pearl screamed for a good 20 minutes until she stopped, tears running down her face.

Garnet could do nothing about this, going back was too risky now that she was paralysed and Pearl was so upset that she was unable to do anything.

Garnet then used her arms to crawl out of the car and over to pearl to see if she was ok.

Garnet crawled out of the car, over to her and held her as she cried.

Pearl held Garnet too, the madness of what had happened final setting in as Garnet started to cry with her.

Today, they had lost a friend.

Today, Garnet had been forever changed.

Today, they mourned together.

There was nothing they could do now.

A funeral was held for Amethyst the following week and an investigation was started to find out if the land owner had any connection to what happened.

The investigation found no connection to the land owner, but the tower was found to be an old crime scene from a similar incident that occurred back in the late 90s.

Why the scene in the tower was never cleaned up after was also investigated, turns out that the tower was planned to be destroyed but the plan was cancelled and the tower accidentally forgotten since the case was already closed, leaving the tower to rust away.

The land owner never did any prison time since he had no involvement in what had happened but Pearl and Garnet tried to sue for damages.

The land owner gladly paid them for damages and settled it out of court with them.

It wasn't fair that they would go on a vacation and have their lives permanently changed by something as tragic as this...

And the investigation found another thing too, no DNA from the creature was found at the original crime scene from the 90s and the report from that investigation said that it was just a freak bear attack of some kind that just somehow resulted in the scene they found.

The land owner also confessed to not even knowing that the creature existed, nobody did or could have, especially when such claw marks could have easily been pinned on a freak bear attack like they initially though it was back in the 90s.

Pearl and Garnet understood this, nobody could have known that this thing was lurking out there, especially with the 90s investigation saying it was a bear.

And later, a team was sent to deal with the creature but only found evidence that it had fled the area recently and a few tracks showing that it had probably gone north.

The tracks disappeared after 2 miles and the creatures current whereabouts remain unknown.

Pearl and garnet eventually got used to the changed that had occurred.

Garnet ended up in a wheelchair, Pearl came to terms with Amethyst's death and after a while everything went back to semi-normal.
