Jaethal - Undead Necro, Unfair Ready! No Mods Required,

This build I have created for Jeathal for my playthrough on Unfair difficulty ( +extra hard enemies cause Unfair was too easy after ACT II ). If You are fine with a Jaethal that is bad for first 7 levels, but gets stronger each level after that and becomes OP at level 16, I strongly recomend.

Get lesser rod of extend ASAP to use Extend Rod + Snowball to do some damage early on. If You don't like that combo use Magic Missile instead

Magic Missle helps one easy fights where You don't want to use TS+Snowball combo

Boneshaker is ok, but try to use the slots mostly for Extended True Strike, to have a decent number of Snowballs. Extend + True Strike is OP as it make True strike last for 4 Turns - the one You casted it in and 3 extra ones where You cast Snowball.

Expedious Retreat helps position on battlefield, Sense Vitals adds Sneak Attack to Snowball making it more fun!

Comment:
Add displacement to Your spells to make You a decent buffer to team members. Extend Sense Vitals + Extend True Strike + Scorching Ray now will do most damage You can.

Boneshatter will be our main damage for now with option to cause a great debuff. To make it as strong as it gets we will specialise in it!

Comment:
Mirror Image increases our survival by a lot, Enervation is a spell that we will focus on next levels and will be our main source of power and debuff capabilities.

We take a good buff here as we will be spending most of our slots here for quicken True strike or Extend Enervation

Comment:
Greater Invis helps landing hits with our rays and to not be targeted by enemies that much

Comment:
Sirocco is our weapon vs Undead / Ghosts. Later on we can cast it on Jaethal and stand in the middle of the room dealing damage and healing Yourself

Transformation is nice when we are out of casts or want to kill a powerful undead caster with a nice 2 handed axe

Comment:
Waves of Exostion is one of the best debuffs in the game. It works on bosses, doesn't have a save option, is infinite and an AOE. Unless You are fighting undead / ghosts / elementals remember to cast it at start of the fight.

Comment:
Creat Undead give You a decent summon but more of a flavour spell then critial one. Finger of Death with specialisation when lands does solid damage. With cloak of Sold Soul You should be getting those cast to land. I only recomend to use it on weak characters <400 hp, cause other way it is better to debuff them with Enervation.
On this Level You also get Incorporeal Form, that makes You a monster for 15 rounds per day. It makes You immune or very resistant to many attacks.
Level 17

Finger of Death

  • Greater Angelic Aspect ( Build Critical )
Metamagic Spells:
  • Quicken + Enervation
  • Quicken + Greater Invis
Comment:
Greater Angelic Aspect gives a lot of survibility, so should be up all time.
Improved Critical( Ray ) gives us a doubled chance to get a critical when casting enervation and the sweet chance to hit with 6 x 2 negative levels.

Comment:
Wail of Banshee is an AOE Finger of Death so both are good to specialise in.

I'm very late to the party but can someone explain this? Sirocco is our weapon vs Undead / Ghosts. Later on we can cast it on Jaethal and stand in the middle of the room dealing damage and healing Yourself How exactly do we heal ourselves? :)

for some reason with Level 7 it demands me to both Extend and Empower Snowball at the same time,

Yeah, that is how I survive the Act 1 of the game :) lesser rod of quicken + true strike + snowball :)

Tested it out. You definitely get to cast combat spells without the True strike coming to an end. Spell duration when extended is indeed 24 seconds.

If you also had a lesser rod of quickening you could throw snowballs like Buddy in "ELF"

Just to clarify it only works on spells with an attack roll like rays or touch spells :)

True Strike last till end on next turn (so turn You cast on + 1 = 2 truns) if You extend x2 it is 4 turns. Also last time I checked it affects only one weapon attack, but doesn't were off when casting spells / throwing bombs. Would have to check if that wasn't changed lately.

True strike's description says it lasts for 1 round, but only affects one attack. Is the latter part not true?
I don't see how you get true strike for 4 rounds.
