I see. It's apparent if things that distinguish between 2A5 and 2A6 are barrels only, It's gonna tough to identify between them unless somebody has prior knowledge.

2A6 has the long barrel L/55 main gun instead of the L/44 2A5 has. There are some smaller improvements, but I don't have the specifics at hand. I think the difference between 2A4 and 2A5 is all in all bigger than between 2A5 and 2A6, unless the environment favors very long engagement ranges where the L/55 gun is decisively superior. In rolling and/or forested areas L/44 does just fine as the engagement range is usually short.

What's differentiate between 2A5 and 2A6?

I think L44 is mounted on 2A4, but these were at least supposed to be 2A6s, which were the first to carry the long barreled L55. Not sure from the screenshot if the dimensions are correct, but that was the equipment I was fielding in this mission.

I'm on my first mission on that one and the opponents seem soft at this stage. However, I like the variety of elements at my disposal, a bit of everything. Mechanized Panzerjägers (Marder), pioneers (Fuchs), Leopards and PzH 2000s and CAS (Tornados I think).
