Slark is mainly used as a ganker and can be played both as a mid or in an offlane or safelane. He can snowball if he gets kills early on and would become really hard to stop once he gets his Skadi.

Thanks alot for the comment! I get Skadi first as it solves his problem with stats overall. It gives him tankiness, attack speed and enough mana to carry out ganks continuosly. I'll add a note to that :)

Skadi first isn't really that good on Slark. It's expensive and doesn't give him enough killing power. I recomend getting a Basher and then either an Assult Curass or Mjollnir. Attack speed is really powerful on Slark since it'll proc his Essence Shift more often. I normally sell my Orb of Venom after I get my Basher. Also I recommend getting a Ring of Aquila early on since you'll need the mana regen with how much you'll use Dark Pact and Pounce. This is a great guide, but it bothers me when people try getting a Skadi before any big attack speed item.

And btw you can get a bkb on slark, it's ideal for those with AoE skills, cos some van hit during SD.(situational)
Not sure bout this, but essence shift levels really depends on your items and how you are playing slark. Full on midder would grab more levels on essence shift fast cos if you get off enough harrassment, u can kill them easy if they get careless. Ganker would get one level, especially if ur teammates are nukers. Offlane pounce and dark pact, helps getting out in a pinch(especially if u are against trilane on your own) and also makes you get into position for ganks quickly.
