Thy Tesla Launcher - The Build Behind the Beast
By Drop Out Candy
Are you having a hard time thinking of an idea that will change the course of launcher crafting?

That would be a no then...

Though we have different ideas, most of us might just stick to just one build. The one which outputs the most damage in one shot.
Mine is way different than yours. However, the purpose of the build stays the same...

To KICK SOME ASS IN THIS AWEEEEEESOME GAME!

Ladies and gents, I present to you...

Introducing Myself to the Audience
Hey, my name is Frost. But my alias here in game is Sagrata. I was a closed beta tester last Febuary,2013. Currently level 10 (During the creation of this guide) and i've been seeing some good output by the developers of this game. I still enjoy this game until now, and I can't wait to publish this guide to the public. I hope you enjoy!

READ FIRST
Before you read my guide. Let me just tell you that most of these are from my biased opinions. If you want to start a opinion war, i'm happy to take it on in the comments section. So that's about it for this section.

Some Launcher Facts in a Nutshell
Here are some facts that you should probably know already :
  • They are the slowest moving projectiles in the game (Right after pulse) [Depends on propulsion settings]
  • It has the most customizable parts, counting 54 in total.
  • Has AoE (Area of Effect damage)
  • The closer you are in the blast radius, the more damage you will take.

All of these things should be piled up on your brain if you want to build this bad boy up.

Now let's begin the build!
The Build

If you pretty much didn't look at the guide, the chassis should be a launcher.
_______________________________________________________________________________

Based on all the stocks available for the weapons, I would highly recommend the standard stock. Why perhaps? First, it gains a good amount of aim accuracy making it good for medium-ranged combat. Second, though it's hip accuracy is quite low, it can still make up for close-quarters combat (CQC)...
_______________________________________________________________________________

You don't really need to worry about the scope. You can choose any scope of your liking. But if you were me, I would recommend the iron sights as the scope of the gun. It would not really affect your performance by a ton. But it helps a ton if you're not really glamorized by all the different kinds of scopes. Really, iron sights are all you need to get you going. Trust me, I've been through this situation before. Never regretted using the iron sights...
______________________________________________________________________________

Now this is one of the parts wherein you need to choose which play style you're gonna use. Is it going to be the full-auto Rambo mode? Or will you pick the semi-auto ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mode? I would highly recommend the semi-auto as the trigger because not only does it increase your damage to your build, but it also increase both the accuracy stats and the stability* of your gun.

*Stability - The more you move, the more the crosshair of your gun gets widened.
______________________________________________________________________________

Although the cage is the most preferred one in this list, I may have to ask you something. Imagine in a situation wherein you shot your rocket but it missed, you will still have to reload while thousands of projectiles come right at you. What would you do then? You can't just high jump forever. Therefor, I would highly recommend you the tri-barrel as the barrel in the list. Even though it lacks damage in every shot that you take, you are certain that at least of your rockets will make contact with the player. If you are not yet certain on what to choose, for starters I would suggest you take the cage as the barrel for your gun. Though the toob and heavy propulsion types are also useful as it deals more damage than the rest, they both have slow reload times and fly slower than than the rest of the propulsion parts. Resulting in a hard to aim scenario.
______________________________________________________________________________

From the guide, I think you know what to choose already...

Will you make your gun fancy or simple? That's the question. If you are to try other parts for the sake of curiosity, go ahead. I'm keeping mine simple, use the rocket for the propulsion part. No upsides, no downsides. Just a plain straight rocket straight to your face.
______________________________________________________________________________

Just keep your gun as useful as possible, I will highly recommend you the impact shell part. It explodes on impact. (includes human bodies, walls, floors, and any other part that you could stand, sit, or camp.) What else do you expect?
______________________________________________________________________________

Using other detonators with a tesla loadout like this is fine. But it depends on what play style you want to achieve off. For me, all I want are quick kills so that my team could just focus on the objective instead. I would recommend the contact detonator part because it never wastes time to kill an enemy right away. Unlike the other detonators (I have no hate with them,so please, bear with me. :3)
______________________________________________________________________________

I have a rather split decision on what to recommend here. It's got to be either the explosive or the flak as the last part of the disposal. There are upsides and downsides to them though. But for me, straight, clean damage is all I want to happen. I would slightly recommend you the explosive dispersal because you don't need to wait for the damage per second (DPS) to kill the enemy. Just straight-up blast him in the head!

Fuck, this was my first launcher. Quite effective, but I soon moved on to pyro and hexafuckinganalcombustionbarrel.

I'll continue to edit the contents whenever I have time.

Thank you for pointing out the wrong things I've done throughout this guide.
I will learn from this.

All in all, this guide is basically 'why I chose to simply level up my default gun instead of specializing it for any particular purpose'

Some inconsistencies. You say 'most damage in one shot' and 'tesla launcherS' (plural) but list only one build with tri-barrel (not most damage). Though you mention the cage for starters, the toob and heavy barrels are never mentioned. This whole thing reads as 'default everything but use these OP bullets' although the tesla rounds aren't as effective against bots or in certain game modes/opponent loads. I understand the reasons for defending the default gear, perhaps for people secondary-ing rockets with a beam or rifle primary, but in no way does this read as comprehensive or even enlightening for players beyond their first 5 levels. The line under launcher facts 'You can shoot it with any kind of chassis' is unclear and not relevant to the topic. Under bullets, you mention the other propulsion types in passing as 'fancy' but don't elaborate on the pros/cons or other purposes of them.
