The BEST dead by daylight KILLER guide!
By slimer
Hey guys and girls! Today I recruit new killers in dbd to haunt some survivors. That's right, you heard it right. Killers as players in my opinion are not good enough, they are not doing their job right. This is the main reason why im writing this tutorial, in order to balance the player skill ratio.

This is not going to be an advanced guide on specific maps, extreme builds tutorials, 1 milimeter difference in hitbox and stuff like that. In this guide you will find:

1. How to get started as killer, instant lvl up from beginner to intermidiate (pay to win and free to play options)
2. Overall tips and tricks on how to deal with annoying survivors.
3. Basic psyche breaking methods.
4. How to not lose your mind playing against ttv flashlight kids and pc sweaty try hards drinking coke.
5. How make above mentioned players lose THEIR minds.

I hope you enjoyed this little apetizer, lets jump straight into the tutorial now!

1. Get started the easy way.
Okay, so you might be wondering why the survivors are escaping all the time, you are not getting 3-4 kills each round and stuff like that. To answer all of your questions, we need to dive into what game offers us and how we can use it to maximaize our stats! Since this is not an advanced guide I will show you JUST two, in my opinion, BEST ways to start.

1. Free to play method.

The core thing about it is to not spend a penny on the game. That is going to slightly decrease our speed of leveling up, but its still cool. You basically need to play the game till you have 9000 shards. I recommend playing all characters, trying to get as much knowledge of everything, getting comfortable in the chair. Save up bloodpoints, we need to use them later on the killer called NURSE. I will explain why later.
After that you can buy your first killer. NOT SKINS, NOT SKILLS, the ONE specific character from the shop. Of course you can buy it with real money, but not in this method dude. You buy (!!!): LEGION. YEAAAAH, and after that, the fun experience of the game starts. It wont be bad again, it wont hurt or anything. Its going to be better and better the more you play.
You have legion and now what? You remember the Nurse i was talking about earlier? You need to get her two skills called: Thanatophobia and A Nurse's Calling. You obviously use them on Legion, and from now on this will be your main character.

Your f2p Legion build should be: Thanatophobia, Nurse's Calling, Discordance and a fancy perk you like. Its more like a playstyle thing you know, it doesnt matter but it does. If you want to swap something - swap discordance.

2. Pay to win method.

It's not really pay to win, but it is. You need to buy the Leather face dlc AND the legion dlc, WHY NOT. Keep those shards for a skin that gonna annoy your prey. Trust me.
This time you STRAIGHT UP hop into playing leather face. The build doesnt really matter, just make sure you have the Barbecue and Chili on. With this amazing perk you are going to earn A TON of bloodpoints and get a lot of informations while playing. Its just amazing. You will have enough bloodpoints to level up nurse and get her two needed perks mentioned above, level up legion as much as you want, levep up leather face, probably other killers too, skip all daily achievemnts, buy a house. On top of that you will enjoy playing as broken character (leather face of course) till you move on the even better one haha.

Your p2w Legion build should be: Thanatophobia, Nurse's Calling, Discordance and Barbecue and Chili. Discordance here is the perk you can swap for others in the first place, after that its barbecue. You can modify everything as you wish.

3. Core basics of your gameplay:

Run through the map and hit survivors with the feral frenzy. Then down them. Hang them. Watch where they are by barbecue, when you run watch for the nurses calling and discordance. Repeat till the cake is baked. You can bake this cake as many times as you wish.
2. Tips and tricks!
Things from now on apply to EVERY killer in the game, not only Legion. That stuff above? It's just to get you started you know. You will get bored playing the same character, and you NEED to be able to adapt and try new things you know.

Suggested killers to play later: Nurse, Wraith, Spirit, Oni, Hag.

Now to the dealing with annoying survivors. There is nothing muich to it to be honest. They will crouch in front of the pallete, flash you from behind the corner, block your hook. ♥♥♥♥ happens mate. They will succeed many times. But you know what? What if i told you i know a way to overcome that? Let me explain.
Every action has its consequences:

1. Crouching in front of pallete:
This is clearly made to annoy you. Yeah they teabag, but they should be running instead. They are wasting their time and you are gaining it. Just dont get tilted, dont overreact. Patently catch them when the gap narrows. They can't crouch on hook.

2. Flashlighit saves: Everytime you pick up someone you need to turn your face to the wall. As close as you can. After you grab them its easy, just do some moonwalk if needed, dance a little or race around a rock if you have that Trapper perk you know I'm talking about. It can be easily avoided many times, however, not always.

3. Blocking hook: Just punch them lol. Slice, hit, boom, bam, whatever dude. When you hit a survivor they get no collision with you for some time. There is even a second option: you can drop that body on the floor and scare them away by rushing straight in their face, optionally hitting them, going back to that body and hanging it. Be careful for guys healing that downed guy.

4. Dead hard (that dash they use): You just wait till they use it if you know they have it. Look around and dont get tricked.

5. Decisive strike (the most annoying thing they use): Okay, so this perk is way too powerful, but there is still a slight way around it. You can count seconds before downing them, but this requires some good chasing skills, as you are going to be close to them all the time.

6. Borroweed time: Also very meta perk as one above, you can out play it by just doing damage to the guy, that saved the hooked one. They will probably escape, but not if both are injured. Keep track of who you hit.

Other perks are annoying too, but there is not really much overplay to like Iron will, Sprint, Adrenaline etc. Its just there, be happy when they dont use mentioned ones.
3. Most useful information
Here we are going to dicuss the gameplay psychological mechanics you can use in your advantage. This ♥♥♥♥ is going to bring you up to the next level. MmMMiiIIiNNnnDddDD games.

Survivors run in a pattern, like little mice. Lets analyze it:
1." Omg he sees me" moment.
2. Fast fast my brain PLEASE work, where was the last pallete i saw.
3. HAHA LOOOOOOOOOOOOP
4. getting hit
5. Reapeat 2, 3 and 4.
6. be downed and hooked.

Okay, first of all. You need to know what is looping.
Looping - a way that survivors run to maximaze the distance between you and them. This involves: running as close to walls as possible to squeeze that milimeters. running straight. running with a plan in mind so they dont hesitate and make a mistake. throw palletes and abuse the map objects.

Sounds easy right? Not really. This is the hardest part of chasing somebody. Here i will throw something very usefull: DONT CHASE THE GOOD SURVIVORS WITH EXPERIENCE. Some of them are really fast like sonic and can use the map and their perks well. Just leave them, drop that chase, trust me you dont want that and move to the next survivor.

Survivors use this pattern to outplay you. You can do it too. After some time you are going to see that their way of escaping repeats. You will know where to cut the corner, when to vault (window jump). This takes time and dicussing where are the most spots is pointless since there are random and too many. You need to get that knowledge by yourself. Since you know about it: when you play try to see that, analyze and educate. This will help a lot.

Another thing is: survivors mostly look at your red light in front of your character, which shows where you look at. Use it when you try to catch them. Try to look away and moonwalk, try to not do this. By doing this you are entering the 50% chance zone. What is it?!

50% chance zone is when you and the survivor know that the next move is going to end good or bad for one of the side. It is very important for you to win as many situations like that as possible. Example: You chase the survivor around the window object. Each time they change direction they give themselves this chance. You can either continue chasing them without hesitation or mind game and try to be smarter. This depends on the situation way too often, you just need to feel it, feel that survivor playstyle.

These are the two main things to learn, probably the hardest ones. You just need to get that experiance.

Other things to know are:
1. Run as near walls as possible, same as them.
2. Never get stunned by the palette in other reason than skipping your abilities cooldown or something.
3. Feel the moment of when to slag somebody and leave them, which palettes are worth breaking and which are not, when to pop the generator.
4. Always go to the furthest generator and to its way check other onces (when you start the game).
5. Focus on two survivors to kill first, but dont limit yourself.
4. Sad reality about survivors
I understand you. Many times i was mad because of a stupid t.tv guy, all team playing claudette same skin, he stunned me with a palette, spammed crouch, blinded me, i lost the chase, he unhooked one guy, other one finished the generator and the last one was at the door opening it immidiately. T.tv and that one saved guy got the adrenaline kick in, door opened and that was basically the game. I remember them all crouching, desperately teabagging in front of the gate. That was just awful. The feeling of lost control, being helpless. (Funny thing: it could be worse. they had borrowed time and decisive strike in too. Thats why none was killed before the gates open. So after they got the adrenaline kick, by some miracle if i could catch one, i would probably just got DS'ed.)

After the game they wrote: "haha, ez. gg ez. noob killer. first time? ez." I asked them: "Why to disrespect so much? I'm just chilling." I never got the answer.

I was rank 11. They were ranks 5, 4, 7 and 9.

Games like that happen. It's just a part of the experiance. Unjustiful reality... Don't let them down you, the survivors need to be downed instead. You might think... you might think that you can do nothing about this guys abusing these perks, this gameplay mechanics, looping, mercilly crouching...

No.

You CAN do something about it. You can do MUCH MORE than you ACTUALLY THINK.

Ladies and gentlemen.
I'm pleased to welcome you, in the last part of my little tutorial.
5. Final revenge
In order to not lose your mind, you need to... Be calm. Be patient. Don't trigger. Just play and do your job. Kill survivors.

I'm going to show you techniques that will crank up every single one of them. They will squeeze in the agony of not escaping. You will be the curse of every t.tv dbd streamer. You will annihilate all that sweaty kids playing meta perks over and over again with their sweaty stinky friends.

This is more like a: do this when they do that thing.

Look:

Before game:
1. When you see one of them has "t.tv" in his nickname or any other streaming sign = equip memento mori.
2. When you see they possibly might be annoying (example: four claudette, same basic skins with toolboxes) = equip memento mori.
3. When you see they have a lot of flashlights = hah, that hillbilly perk is useful, isnt it? equip Lightborn. Or memento mori.
4. You can look up their profiles and judge if they are good players. If they have like 700 hours in game and you dont feel like playing hardcore chess tournament = just recycle the lobby. Leave before the game starts and go again.
5. Most of the console players are super cool. They dont chat, because they cant. They arent so good, but its okay. Remeber to always be nice to them, if they didnt hurt you in any way. Sometimes i grab the last console guy and throw him into hatchet, because he was fair. People like that DO exist and keep that in mind.

In game:
1. When you see them as group of 4 premades and things are not really going by your way = tunnel one of them. I suggest the weakest. Straight up. Be careful, they might be good at rescuing, so just "camping" wont help. Tunneling is art nowadays.
2. If you eventaully feel like you get tilted: just stop for a moment, stop playing. Look at something else than your monitor and take your time to calm the thoughts. This will not only help your gameplay, but your psyche health (it applies everywhere in the world :))

After game:
1. Don't look at chat, never reply back, do NOT get involved = move on.

My message to you:
DO NOT be toxic. DO NOT be consumed by anger. You WILL be tempted many times in many ways to lose control. But that WON'T make you lose it. This is the ONLY way to become good and respected killer. You have the knowledge, you know the tricks. Now you are ready to make the survivors extinct. I believe in you!

Thanks for reading my tutorial, I hope you enjoyed //slimerPuncher

I like this guy. He seems to know that the game's all about having fun and just having a good time, but he also knows about how bad it can get for us. As a player that is less-than-confident in his killer skills (rank 7) with over 100ish hours I dread playing my favorite killers at high ranks because I know I'm going to have a hard time.

Sorry, I don't equip Momento Moris unless the game pays me for it. I do use Franklin's a lot though, it's pretty fun.

very nice guide... i habe the most fun while playing Miss Piggy. Legion is also fun though. But i think playing killer also helps me getting better at survivor cause it helps me to better understand mechanics from the diffrent killers.
Thanks a lot for the guide and for mentionning not to be toxic. :steamhappy:
