In this guide i will be telling you about the issues of runescape and the phishing problem that is currently going on
Where is it commonly taking place
Where do you commonly find this scam you ask?

This scam is usually executed in the grand exchange you'll see some person saying "quitting giving away 200m come to youtube ect"

they use this tactic to get to curious people or people who are looking for an easy way through the game there is nothing called free money you have to work for currency.

Once you goto the users youtube video its the same video all the time with the same generic american I'M GOING TO COLLEGE GUYS! I CAN'T PLAY NO MORE SO I'M GIVING AWAY FREE STUFF JUST CLICK THE WACKY LINK IN THE BOTTOM. stuff like that.

soo theres another one on the loose now same type of bot however they've changed up the wording saying they want 25 ppl ect saying for a chance to win billions Its fake don't fall for it I looked up the youtube and this just to show you guys what i mean by how its a scam so the video was posted a day ago and its the same over used oh i'm quitting for college ect. than they'll ask you to click the link in the description which will take you to a phishing site to try and steal your info
Another scam to know
The become a player mod scam

This scam only work for people who have there friends on public you can easily fix this by going to the chat setting and changing to show if you're online to friends only, if you want to know how to do this just right click on the filter on the chat box and on the friends chat switch to friends only

Basically they say how much of a mature player you are ect and try to get you to sign into a website or download something don't fall for it it's not real
Wrapping up
In conclusion reason on why i'm making this guide is to make sure new players and possibly old players who are quite easily tricked into these types of tactics don't fall for them I want to shed some light on a dark topic and make sure everyone understands why its important to not fall for these kinds of things

I met this girl in the GE, I hope this post raises awareness of RS3 relationships, they aren't always as they seem, I even gave her yearly nitro and all I get are flirty comments, keep safe my bros!

Met this girl on RS3, we played everyday, things were going great and we vc'd all the time on discord, we always scheduled ahead to make time for each other, we got snacks and beverages for the entire night of XP grinding. We'd even sleep call sometimes. But there was a night where we were playing, afk xp grinding, streaming movies together and having deep conversations. We finally decided to get into bed together. I was really feeling something for this girl, we did everything together. we said our goodnights and muted ourselves, I was trying to sleep I heard shuffling and groaning, at first I thought she was just getting comfortable but I heard a man on the other side, they started to get very vocal, I didn't know what to do, I didn't know she was in a relationship after a whole year together, I just laid their and listened to it for a solid 20 minutes sobbing into my pillow. This has been going on for the last week, every night I lay there and listen to her get banged by her man

I agree with Nox Echo, Ive had runescape in my life since classic days (1 year before release of rs2 []) There are some sophisticated scams out there, including ones that are more hostile than scams (Tele-other Ice Plateau back in the day[Level 52 wilderness] CANT TELEPORT) for example (granted it shows a warning now) just please whomever you are, be smart, dont trust too much, and most importantly... HAVE FUN! :)

Soo heads up thank you all for getting this guide to the front page on steam quite happy of recent they've changed up the words they use now to try and reel in players "25 ppl for ect goto youtube"
