Introduction
Nomai shuttles are hard to fly so I collected as much information as I could and made this guide for you. Based on your feedback, I've included more tips and just made the guide better overall.

I don't think you actually need Nomai shuttles to complete the game, but they're kinda cool and are fun to play around with imo.
Internal Controls
These are the internal controls of the Nomai shuttle. If you want to learn how to fly a shuttle, these are crucial to learn.

Left control (launch)
Drag the ball here and the shuttle will launch out of it's gravity cannon.

Middle control (recall)
Dragging the ball here results in the shuttle instantly warping back to the gravity cannon it was launched from.

Right control (align)
Dragging the ball here will align your shuttle with the closest planet and start moving towards it.

Ground Controls
The ground controls are found right outside the gravity cannon, the controls are really easy to learn as there's only two inputs.

Left control
This control launches the nomai shuttle from the gravity cannon

Right control
If you want the shuttle back, just use this control and it will warp back the the cannon
How to not crash into planets
  • Just time it! You can wait in the gravity cannon for as long as you like, try to launch when there are little to no planets around.
  • If your launch wasn't so good, you can always use the middle control to go back to the gravity cannon.
  • Once you launch, don't press the right control yet. You should wait a bit until you get closer to your destination so that you don't come crashing back into the planet if you press the right control, just make sure nothing is closer to you when you do press it.
End + another guide
Hope this helps!!

Also, I found another more in depth guide by Wintress that covers the same topic, you can check it out if you're still confused

The first time I used the middle control, I must have jumped or something, because the next thing that happened was very bad. My body ricocheted around the pod until I died. Fun times...

Actually, do you mind if I link your guide in mine?

I originally omitted this information, and I'd like to include links for ease of use.

Thanks! Was too busy getting my plans done to properly fly the shuttle, so never guessed what the right position did. Could come in handy!

There's also probably another guide that covers the same topic, but better.

There is another guide . Not better, though, just different.

I like that your guide is that it's more succinct and goal-oriented. Your sentences are shorter and more direct, and the section for each button starts with "this does that", and elaborates from there. However, it is less detailed, and omits the information about the external controls

Meanwhile, the other guide is more tactile and comprehensive. It includes screenshots of the internal and external controls, it titles each section based on the layout, and it starts each section by making sure the user understands that layout. However, if the reader's goal is "Fly Now! How Do?", this approach requires more from the reader.

It's function versus form!

Thanks for the guide, I wasn't sure how the third button worked exactly.
