(NOTE: If you have an AMD graphic card, use this mod. It's great: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/48934?tab=description ) I don't know if it works well with NVidia cards. If not follow my instructions down here.)

Deactivate FXAA and TAA in game and then:

Go to
\Documents\My Games\Fallout4VR\
and make a backup of the file
Fallout4VrCustom.ini

After you have made a backup edit the file and add this lines to it (copy and paste them from here):

sStartingConsoleCommand=cl off
[Display]
iLocation X=555
iLocation Y=90
fTAAPostSharpen=0.675
fTAASharpen=1.0000
fTAAHighFreq=0.8000
fTAALowFreq=0.5000
fTAAPostOverlay=0.675
[VRDisplay]
fRenderTargetSizeMultiplier= 1.0

Save the file and start the game.
The blurryness will be gone and it will look much sharper.

(Instead of this you could set the Supersampling in the VR-Settings of SteamVR to 200% but this will have a much bigger performance impact and is only recommended for people with a really High End hardware.)

the main file of course. The game does not use the backup file.

when you say edit the file do you mean the backup file or the main file

I haven't played VR but i plan on starting today, what is the shimmery about and also how often do things get blurry? is this a problem for everyone?

I tried it and it worked but now everything is shimmery and weird. The Supersampling setting is not there anymore. Thanks Eternal Zelda, On further playing I have found the shimmering to be hardly an issue. At the time I first changed the .ini I was at Diamond City during the day and it is an area that seems to be very shimmery but I left there and found it to be hardly noticeable in other places so yes i prefer a bit shimmery to total blurry.

Hi ratcat. The shimmery is normal. You have to choose what you like more... shimmery oder blurryness. I can live better with the shimmery.
I don't know about the SS setting, but you can set SS directly in Steam VR and it overrides the SS setting of the application. ;-) I recommend fpsVR to easily change the SS setting and to check frames per second while playing.

i opened the file to edit it. and it opened up in note pad i have a feeling its not supposed to do that
