The dev's broke this game. They also broke it for use on Linux as well. Now all their titles are broken. We don't change for you, you cater to US. That is why we pay you and buy your products. Consider going to Console only and leave us alone, thanks.

Also tried:
a version of that api...dll that I found.
updating .NET framework to the latest
running as administrator.
No avail. It still acts like it's starting up, Steam friends can see that I'm starting the game when I test, over and over. The tiny start-up window shows up and then disappears.
If I try to start from the links in the game folder I get a new window since putting in that api....dll file:
"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)."

Made another attempt at this after un/reinstalling again.
The first time I had the issue this work-around solved it for me. Since October 2021's update it's been a no-go.
At first I thought it was simply dx12 that's the issue still as reshade is now up to version 4.9.1, but I too am getting the api-ms-win-shcore-scaling-l1-1-1.dll error window.

We'll see. Someone'll have the time to bend that issue to their will and inform us.

It doesn't work for me. Also the game directory contains SecondExtinctionEOS.exe. I gave a sense that doomjesus is right about Win7.

Does this still work?

THE PC MARKET SEGMENT IS SO SMALL NOW THAT DEVELOPERS CAN ACTUALLY MAKE MORE MONEY BY TAKING INCENTIVES FROM MS TO DELIBERATELY BREAK DX11 SUPPORT THAN THEY WOULD TO JUST SELL THE GAME TO CUSTOMERS WHO REMAIN ON WIN7. CALL OF DUTY IS A PRIME EXAMPLE OF THIS. DON'T EXPECT THIS GAME TO WORK ON WIN7 ANY TIME SOON. IF ANYBODY FINDS A WAY AROUND IT, THE DEVELOPER WILL BREAK IT AGAIN IN SHORT ORDER.

May be anecdotal, but doesn't work for me.

In total, I have 3 options for what is happening.
1 The characteristics of my pc, in spite of the fact that they fit the game WHERE THAT, how THAT conflict (although the game starts)
2 This file replacement method no longer works and the game crashes.
3 The developers themselves broke the game with the latest patch. Which of these options is correct, I do not know. If you have time, try to play and write how it is played for you. If your game runs stably, then this is purely my problem and the method is working. your game also crashes then point 2 or 3 ..

So there are 2 good news and bad news.
A good game starts and even runs in the main menu. Bad when the game itself starts and the character lands from the capsule, the game immediately freezes and the system says that the video driver has stopped responding (graphics quality is minimal)
