Freak Fortress guide
By Bo and 5 collaborators
This will be a guide all about the FF2 update for VSH and the new hales, rages, and specials that have came along with this update. The Community of Saxton hell and the ACG helped out and is where we are going to get a large amount of our information from. If any bosses you are expecting to be on this guide that are not on here might be due to a few reasons. Such as being a carbon copy of an already made hale, hale exclusive to X server or came out after this guide was created and every contributors left.
NOTE: This guide will no longer be updated
P.S. This guide won't include any class details, if you want to learn about it check out lunacy's guide on classes which will be at the end of this guide.

Freak fortress, What is it.
Freak fortress is a Heavily Modified Vs. Saxton Hale (Vsh) with:
  • New Hales! (Over 100+)
  • New Rages! (Mostly gun rages because 'merica)
  • And New Abilities! (Also called "Skills")
We are going to be naming each boss that is currently available, starting from the Scout and ending with the Spy bosses.
If some hales from your server don't appear on this listing; then that means we just don't have it on the server we play on (Or We Simply Forgot).
The Scout Hales
Sanic The Hadgeheg
Sanic The Hadgeheg: Sanic is a hale that, when he rages, recieves a sandman with 10 balls with uber and medium stun. Sanic's origin was of a poorly drawn boss in MSPaint that was simply a joke of Sonic the hedgehog. He was introduced on a youtube video called "HOW 2 DRAW SANIC HEDGEHOG" which shows the user drawing him with loud and distorted music from Green Hill Zone Act 1. The model was made by "TheCorp303 (Warning, turn down volume)".

What Should I Do?!
  • Hide behind objects to prevent getting hit by the Projectiles of the sandman
  • Stay away when he turns yellow and goes Supah Sanic.
  • Stay your distance if you have the opportunity, he's fast and can easily rush you if you are close enough to him

Jeff The Killer:
For one, this boss is annoying because of it's high transportation rate and rage, making it bit OP. Jeff has the ability to teleport twice, one as his main form of transportation (By Crouch + Looking up, also called "Recharge" and with his rage). You will not be able to see when he rages because of him covering the screen with the infamous "Jeff Face (Go To Sleep)". Jeff The Killer's Origins came from a creepypasta called "Jeff the Killer".[creepypasta.wikia.com] The story is about a boy in his pre-teens named Jeff, who was fighting these boys, that were out to kill him, and ends up being burned alive from the fight. After being released from the hospital he goes mentally insane and starts modifying his body with a knife, removing his eyelids and carving his mouth to where he could always smile. He then later kills his family, and runs off to never be seen again.

What should I do?!
  • Keep an eye out for where he teleports
  • Know that his range is crazy
  • And stay as far back as possible or in high places

Bonk Boy:
Bonk Boy will play like any normal, regular boss with a atomizer. Upon rage is where things begin to change to show what Bonk Boy can do. Bonk Boy's rage is World Wide (Meaning no one can't escape the rage). Bonk Boy also has lifes, two lives to be exact (all being 1/2 of his health per life), once he loses his first life he moves at lightning fast speeds, with the ability of flight, and kills anyone on contact and obtains a sandman that will have random numbers of balls, the lowest being 10 and the highest 200 balls at once with the ability to double jump. Once all the balls are gone you only get 1 for the rest of the match like a normal sandman. Bonk Boy's Origins are really unknown to our knowledge at the moment, but it's suggested that he's based on the polycount set on the scout called "The #1 Fan" which was released on the Uber Update that contains a hat called "The Bonk Boy". He's also the defender of CP.
What Should I do?!
  • When he rages hide or go to places that is hard to get to as a high speed, flying maniac.
  • It's best to stay near a medic or despendser to help remove the damage on the sandman balls and possibly protect you from a hit from Bonk Boy directly.
  • A third Thing
  • Stay away from places a scout can normally double jump to

Baseball Vince:This hale is just mainly a reskin of bonk boy but there are different things,First off he has less hp.Lets say bout 5k around 12 people in a server or something. Second, He gets bonkboys old soda popper that does light people on fire. Lastly, he gets vavle time for 30 secs or min with 200 balls. Baseball Vince Orgins are unknown
The Soldier Hales
Waffle Ice Cream Soldier: Waffle Ice Cream is a soldier that is dressed up all as a waffle ice cream cone. This Hale started as a skin then into a hale. This hale gains uber on rage and forces anyone around him to taunt, also he has a heavy voice.

Panis Cupcake: Panis Cupcake is a bloodthirsty freak who will kill anyone he sees for his own amusement, reguardless of team. Painis Cupcake has the ability to Super Jump and his rage makes him stun with Large range. Painis has two lives (taking up 1/2 of his health each) which could be a mild annoyance. When he loses his first life his Attack Theme will start to play with him having a World long stun rage, Invulnerability, and a red circle around his body to represent "You just made me angry".
Orgins:
Painis Cupcake was based off a Gmod video called "AN UNTITLED PAINIS CUPCAKE REFERENCE VIDEO". The creator of the video goes by RubberFruit, creating other Freaks/Hales that you will see in this guide. The Model is a unedited model of the RED soldier.
What Do I Do?!
  • Stay away from this boss because the range of his rage can catch you off guide and leave you in the open
  • Stay near a medic
  • When Painis's first life is almost gone run away and let a sniper or far range class snipe him from afar and finnish off his life so you won't get stuck with a losing disadvantage.
  • When he is Invulnerable stay with a pyro that can airblast, a level 3 sentry, or a ubercharged medic. You'll have a higher chance of staying alive and you can run off to prepare yourself for another encounter with Painis when his invulnerability clears.

SCP 173: SCP could be considered a OP boss if you don't have the right mind set for this boss. This boss is what will truely make you work together with a team, because one person can ruin your team from winning. SCP 173 after taking about 300 ~ 400 damage and upon rage, will teleport into a random player and attack as soon as he teleports. While SCP is a fast teleporter he makes it up for being very, very slow making him vulnerable to goomba stomps and backstabs. SCP has no ability to Super Jump with his Crouch + Up and has higher health than that of most bosses on this list.
Orgins:
SCP orginates from a wiki called "The SCP Foundation[www.scp-wiki.net]"; a wiki based on reports from the SCP foundation on supernatural monsters and items that they have found and done experiements on. The SCP Foundation is actually a site that allows members to explain ideas that they had in their head and give a indepth analysis to idea that they come up with; usually being hazardous to humans. One of these happens to be where SCP 173[www.scp-wiki.net] originates from even recieveing the title of "The Original" because of it making the SCP foundation popular in the first place. SCP 173 is a monster based on eye sight (Like a weeping angel), meaning if you blink or turn away SCP will come closer to you until you are either gone or until you are dead (Hence why he has a fast rage build and crazy teleportation). SCP 173 didn't truely become noticed until a game[www.scpcbgame.com] came out that stared this hell raiser and you need to escape before you become a victim to him. The game became popular because of the numerous lets players still playing this game to this day and still being scared to the point of quitting the game (Like Pewdiepie and Markiplier). The model for SCP 173 is heavily based on the model used in the SCP 173 game.
What Do I Do?!
  • *If the server you're on has goomba enabled* Goomba him, it does alot more damage than shooting him in general
  • Go spy and backstab him, a way to get in close is to desguise yourself as a friendly demoman with a eyelander; the boss usually won't expect it's a spy that is going to hit him.
  • DO. NOT. SHOOT. THE. BOSS. You are guarenteeing a loose for your team.
  • *If the server has taunt to Crit (TtC)* If you're a demoman with the stickybomb launcher, set a trap for this boss to run by; it will do more damage than a goomba or backstab if you have all of them in one spot and ready to go with crits.
  • Have a Medic. A medic gives uber, Uber gives invulnerability, invulnerability gives safe backstabs and goombas

Doomguy: He's Doom Guy essentially. He's probably one of the most unique bosses on the list of freaks. He has no rage, but weapons he can pick up are scattered across the map ontop of health and ammo kits. The weapons he can pick up are:
  • A Rocket launcher (Faster Fire Rate but with normal damage)
  • Berserk Mode (A giant speed boost)
  • Invincibility
  • The Double Barrel Shotgun
(This is litterally unique for FF2 standards.)
He also has a Super Jump.
    Rocket Launcher:
When you gain the rocket launcher as this freak, stay close to your target and keep shooting. The fire rate can be helpful but that normal damage is why you need to get close.
    Shotgun:
    Point. Shoot. Kill.
Out of all seriousness, the spread of the shotgun is pretty wide, go point blank range with the shotgun and get a 400+ damage shot off of it (Just like the real game).
    Orgins:
Doom 2.0 is based off the famous First-Person Shooter "Doom", Doom was created by ID software[www.idsoftware.com]. The weapons of Doom 2.0 is based from all the weapons that could be obtained through Doom. The creator of the model is unknown.
    What Should I do?!
    • Stay above Doom 2.0 in order to avoid his rockets with more ease and make his speed boost useless
    • Stay by a level 3 sentry when the shotgun comes out so it can take the shots and not you.
    • When he goes invincible just die, you will just. lose (Or you can wait for it to run out)
Cave Johnson: Cave Johnson is a returning character from the original VSH game mode and has the same move set as before with different stats in FF2 than in normal VSH Servers. Cave Johnson doesn't use a melee weapon in VSH or FF2; instead Cave Johnson uses a grenade launcher to fire Explosive-Lemon Grenades, that when you get hit by them, you take explosive damage and fire damage (10 damage per second). In FF2 his grenades are more powerful and his rage regenerates slowly (around 8500~) that summons every single dead player on RED team to Melee Only Minions instead of gaining a Valve-Powered-Lemon Rocket Launcher. As hale you need to have a good aim with demoman's grenade launcher in order to do good; if not, then you're going to going to have a bad time. Your minions can be a help but are easily killed without any weapons to defend themself from far away.
Captain Falcon: Plays like Saxton but explodes everything around him on rage, dont spam your rage or you'll be vulnerable and can make you loose a lot of health.
Pyro hales
Meet The Pyro: Meet the Pyro is a Pink Pyro who's based on the Pyro from "Meet the Pyro". This boss has a rage that fits his character pretty well. Meet The Pyro has the ability to Super Jump and, on rage, Obtains a Flam- Rainblower, uber, and a small stun range.
Meet The Pyro's Rainblow has a shorter range (50% shorter range), a damage Penalty and no airblast making his range kinda underpowered.

Origins:
Meet The Pyro originated from Valve's "Meet The Pyro". Meet The Pyro's model comes from "Harry64[gamebanana.com]" called "girlish pyro v2[tf2.gamebanana.com]".
Demoman hales
Demo Samedi:
This boss got nerfed recently so here is what he really does after the nerf.
Demo Samedi has a total of three lives (1/3 of his health per live) with the ability to teleport. On rage he will teleport with uber, summons five, Sun-On-A-Stick, Scouts and has a medium stun range. Upon losing his life he will be able to slow down time and teleport/fly to you, killing you instantly. His rage generation is one of the things that got nerfed and made it to a normal build rate to what Saxton Hale would normally have and his teleportation went up from 30 seconds to around 45 - 55 seconds. He's a lot better now and more fun to play against.

Origins:
Demo Samedi was created by youtube user: "JT90INTHEHOUSE" and Demo Samedi first appearance was in "Saturday Night: Rise of Demo Samedi"

What Should I Do?!
  • Stay around medics, their ubercharge can prevent the boss from moving and keep you safe so it'll be a giant trap for him basically.
  • Stay on the high ground, he's teleportation only so it's best to just shoot him from afar/away from him
  • Kill the Scouts as fast as you can, these guys can take out most classes in just a simple 2 hits.
  • Hide when he's about to loose a life and let a demo lob grenades or a sniper shoot him from afar.

Note to the creator:
Sorry if my message across this boss sounded rude, but this boss made me want to leave the server and wait until his turn is over with how unfair it was to fight him. A round in FF2 would normally be 5 minutes and then this boss would end up being 2 minutes because of this boss and his constant telespam with his scout minions. But he's just a fair boss again and I'm happy how he turned out from the patch. Once again Sorry for it comming off bad.

Demopan, Warhammer40k, Demo+Rappy: These bosses works just like Saxton Hale except, when you press R you'll charge as long as you hold that key (Making you one of the fastest bosses), you can also get stuck if you hold the R key for to long because each second you hold R is just like a right click of a shield weapon and the game needs to complete all the commands for the charge.

What Should I do?!
  • Stay Above the Bosses
  • Make as much turns around walls as you can when confronting these bosses.
  • A Third Thing

HHHJR: Beware its the jr of the real HHH. Just Like his verison in the normal vsh servers he can climb walls like snipers with bushwacka. This hale is just Saxton hale Without super jump, he gets teleport and can climb walls. Also Your Saxton hale mask won't do a thing about his stun rage cause its not the real HHH.
Duo Hales
What are Duo Hales?
Duo hales is when there are two or more bosses joining together to kill your team. The duo hales usually have a reason for joining together, like they have been friends or have a theme to them that makes them perfect for each other. To compensate for being able to kill multiple players at once their health is often cut down to 1/3 of health for each. (ie full server hale would have about 24000 health, a duo would have around 8000 each.)
Bosses cannot use Rage in low population if their health is under 1900.

Meem swarm: MeeM swarm is a team of Nine tf2 targets (One for each class) joining together to kill your team. They have about 1/10 the health of the total players (ie 11v12 gives 2300 hp each instead of 1200) and all have a regular hale's abilities.

Origins:
The Original MeeM (Medic) was created by Gmod Animator "OluapPlayer". MeeM's First appearace was in the video "Gentlemanly Demo's Greatest Duel". Other Gmod animators have decided to do the same with the other tf2 targets available and soon enough the MeeM Swarm was created.

What Do I Do?!
  • This is a Joke boss, you're going to lose no matter what.

Seme Seeman and Seeldier: Both Seeman and Seeldier plays exactly like Saxton Hale, but have slower timers, attack intervals, and rage. Seeldier has the ability to summon back RED dead players around him, and Seeman will explode and instakill everything around him as well as pausing him in his location.

Origins:
Seeman and Seeldier was created by Ex-Gmod Animator and Youtuber: Kerncore (Removed from youtube and stopped animating). The video Seeman was seen on was "DEMOMAN IS BLOODY BRILLIANT". Seeldier is unknown at the time of this guide because there is no real idea where he originated from.

"What Should I Do?!"
  • Stay far away from these bosses and find a way to push him away
  • A Medic's Uber can protect you from Seeman's uber and Seeldier's minions
  • When Seeman rages he is vunerable to anything that is fired at him, focus fire on him until he is done and run away.
  • Kill the minions of Seeldier as soon as you can, they can kill alot of people easily because they can Blind-Side you easily with a crit bottle killing every class in one hit except the heavy, soldier, and most over healed targets.

Sonic and Tails: Sonic and Tails are just like their own Hales except working together. They also have the same skill of using lightning by raging then pressing the R Key.

Origins: Sonic and Tails are both Copyrighted and made by "SEGA". The creator of the models is unknown to us at the moment.

What Should I Do?!
  • Avoid getting Double Teamed
  • Stay away from them after they rage, the lightning can instakill if you're close enough

GentleSpy and Femspy: Femspy or Gentlespy can't superjump but have something to make up for that. Gentlespy can still teleport on rage and obtain a revolver and Femspy can teleport on command and on rage even obtaining a revolver on rage. Nothing has changed for their moveset except the ammount of health they have.

Origins:
GentleSpy Originates from creator "Swatis" and was first seen on his video "GentleSpy".
Femspy was created by "Chemical Alia[gamebanana.com]" who created the model and "DustyOldRoses[gamebanana.com]" doing the Voice Acting for her.

Painis Cupcake and Vagineer: Painis Cupcake and Vagineer seem to have the biggest change when they are duos. Painis will have two lives and Vagineer will still only have one life all together. On rage is where they change from their seperate selfes. Painis Cupcake, on rage, gains uber with a medium rage while vagineer also gains a uber but with a extended range.

Origins:
Painis Cupcake was based off a Gmod video called "AN UNTITLED PAINIS CUPCAKE REFERENCE VIDEO". The creator of the video goes by RubberFruit.
Vagineer was created by "J16FOX2" who has moved to "J16FOX". The video Vagineer first appeared on was "Engineer havin' a good time".
Heavy hales
Gabe Newell, Gangnam Heavy: Works just like regular hale except a bit slower. Using rage will activate Valve Time which allows you to zoom forward when attacking which will 1hitkill anything you hit. Has heavy fists so you can attack while stunned.

The Rock: Based on a popular early Source Film Maker video, [SFM] Stop The Rock, someone finally made it a boss for Freak Fortress 2. This boss is tweaked quite a bit for FF2 Hell. By default he has no super jump or rage, which made him underpowered. Here he has default brave jump and his rage automatically and instantly kills everyone a small distance around him. A bit like Captain Falcon's rage but it kills through uber and shields and doesn't freeze you in the air.

Evil Pumpkin: Regular hale with catchy music, super jump, and summons a few dead players back as different-looking squash pumpkins, they get tossed out from the boss's location on Rage.

Zombie: A reskin of the headless horseless headsmen jr but with one thing that is way different. He is a heavy and he can both super jump and teleport.(weird isnt it) This hale takes some skill to use cause if you just spam teleport you can die really fast, but to super jump charge the teleport to 50% and let go then it allows you to super jump. Also this hale has 3 second recharge of tele ports.
Evil Clown: While sporting the complete Heavy model of the Clown Bloat from Killing Floor, evil clown is really a spy?? Makes sense concidering he laughs like a spy and gets knocked around so easily. Evil Clown has a short scare and summons all dead players as weaker clowns who are actual heavies. His alt is teleport to a random player. His gibs are large enough to sometimes hide inside of.
Engineer hales
Wheatley: Basically put, #!$@ his hitbox, not even a sentry can hit him, so if you know Wheatley is coming up pick a non-hitscan class like soldier or medic. Wheatley can build overpowered minisentries upon rage, which do about 24 damage per hit, instead of 8.
Garfield: A hale who's rage increases his own size. Garfield can super jump and stomp, players can get stuck inside of you while you're enlarged making easy kills. DO NOT rage near a wall, ceiling, or slopey terrain, you WILL get stuck and will take a lot of damage, even lose entirely if you spam rage.
Medic hales
MeeM hale: MeeM hale is a hale that can do two things revive the dead to fight for him and teleport. MeeM's origin, MeeM was a target dummy for blue team and one day an engineer expermanted on the dummy to form MeeM. MeeM will take anyone who it desires and transform that person into a MeeM itself. This comes in more detail with MeeM swarm.

Candy Man: This hale is just like cave johnson but has world stun and can get rage alot faster then cave. He is a purple medic with a candy cane(well of course thats why he is called candy man). Once he rages if your close to him you will hear some of the music from Aqua-Candy Man. Lets say This hale will win almost all the time(unless afk, new person, or someone crashes/times out)
Sniper hales
Christian Brutal Sniper: He's a little more powerful in FF2 due to one fact: his rage always gives him a full quiver of arrows (instead of n+1) but without arrows he essentially works like regular saxton hale with a much smaller scare radius

Rage Sniper: Sports an extra distance Persian Persuader and slightly extra run speed (nerfed on FF2 Hell) and gains 4 powerful rockets on rage. These rockets move at standard speed and ramp up to 341 damage iirc. Rage covers about the same areas as CBS. He is an entertaining hale because of his sound clips.
And finally, Spy hales
Spyper Hale: Spyper is a hale made of a sniper body with a spy head. This hale is used for stealth and many fail as him cause he has little bit less HP as normal hales and take more skill then others. Spyper's origin is from a medic on blue who was operating on a blue spy and sniper. The blue spy lost his body but not his head and the sniper lost his head. The medic sew the head to the body and revived him, thus spyper was born. Spyper can cloak, teleport, and receives a weak gun on rage.
Gentle spy: Gentlespy is a quick boss capable of backstabbing. He has no crouch (or M2) ability but receives a revolver that will often 1hitkill to make up for it. Pro tip: because he cannot jump, you can use soldiers' rockets to rocket jump. Rage grants 2 seconds of ubercharge, teleports to a random player, and gives you that revolver you need.
Femspy: Femspy is often paired with Gentlespy as a duo, but can be on her own as well. She works much in the same way, but she gets a teleport as her secondary ability and gains transparency+revolver on rage.
Mentlegen: A more powerful hale, as he has both super jumps, backstabs, and teleports. Upon rage, he turns everyone around him onto blue team for a couple of seconds and teleports to someone else with no stun, able to instantly kill them right after the teleport. It's fine to kill reds when you get turned to blu because that's what its purpose is, but don't kill the blu's because they will turn back to red team soon enough. (Do not have /ghost enabled or you won't be coming back)
The Administrator: One of everybody's favorite hales because after 90 seconds this boss can summon 3 or 4 dead players onto blue until they die (and they can have full crits too). She plays like Femspy and rage gets a headshotting diamondback.
Doctor Who: The Doctor wields a Saxxy, and being an allclass weapon can still backstab with it. He has no super jump but can teleport, and receives a weak gun capable of headshotting to pick off distant and unreachable players. His three lives are purely vanity and serve no purpose other than to make people think he's almost dead.
Ninja Spy: Wields two Shahansha's and works like regular Saxton Hale. He has 3 lives and upon losing a life enters valve time, which allows him to dash forward and instantly kill anyone he touches.
Sexually Challenged Spy: B-b-b-b-butt secks! Pretty much a Vagineer that can backstab, but also blinds everybody for a few seconds upon rage.
Joker, The Mask: Essentially just Saxton Hale as a spy who gets a gun on rage.
Manny: From Grim Fandango, this boss is essentially a Gentlespy rework who can super jump.
Bugs Bunny, Kermit the Frog, Gumby, Pink Panther: Plays like Saxton Hale but rage will teleport to a random player and grant a few seconds of ubercharge.
The Hidden: A more stealthy boss, play him like a normal spy. He cannot attack while cloaked, but he can still super jump and goomba players while invisible. Try super jumping during cloak and uncloaking just before you land to kill somebody, that way you won't waste time decloaking after you landed and people will have less time to react.

Wait so FF2 is a community game? I thought it was like a private modded server? Where can I find one??
Bo  [author] 12 Apr, 2020 @ 4:52pm
People will still create hales but most of them are carbon copies of a hale that was already created, some of these new hales are either overpowered as hell or underpowered. Even if FF2 isn't dead, the servers that this guide was based on are taken down or completely changed into a different server.
Bo  [author] 15 Jul, 2018 @ 5:34am
Besides uber there is nothing that can counter it now. Before you could do a teletrap which would insta telefrag hale if they teleported to you if the teleporter was in sync with hales teleport. But that is fixed so now you just gotta pray that you have uber ready.
Festive™ 15 Jul, 2018 @ 12:39am
Just asking, is there anyway I can counter a teleport? Every time it happens, the victim cannot escape, and the Hale is invincible for the teleportation period.

Can someone please actually find the model they used for Gumby in Freak fortress? I really want it for Garry's Mod (If it is for Gmod)
